I flew Thai Airways 777 business class from Bangkok to Frankfurt as part of my April 2022 trip to South East Asia.
After a pandemic period that was particularly brutal for Thai Airways, I was curious to see whether the airline still delivered a business class experience at the illustrious level they were known for pre-pandemic. Follow along the journey to find out.

Hi Ricky Thai Airways is heavily in debt now so their business class won't be the same as before. Covid has shut down a lot of things as you know. But hey love your videos mate. Keep them coming. 👍👍

I think a lot of those little touches are probably being sacrificed in part to contend with their precarious financial situation. However those are the little touches that make or break a premium experience.

they will not refurbish HS-TKK - R for at least another 3 years because they're all leased. Also, the menu is baked into the IFE.
Their business class fare cost 20% cheaper than CX or SQ. I am not fussed about the service.
Thai Airways is nice. Maybe best service experience i ever had on a flight. Even better than on my Qatar Airways flights. I also uploaded a trip report for A350 Thai Airways Business Class.

THAI business is almost 50% off from the other carriers between my port and Bangkok so I will forgive the lack of service
I’m not sure the rules by CAAT have already changed or not. If the same rules are still impose the airlines which registered in Thailand can’t provide anything except safety card in the seat pocket. For the domestic flight in Thailand right now, CAAT still not allow airlines to serve any food or drink as well.

I fly business monthly Melbourne. They are still not running wi-fi or giving menus or duty free. It seems doubtful that they will

No menu is a covid precaution.
Thai Airways started to fall on airline business, while Garuda Indonesia, Vietnam Arlines, Philippine Airlines are now more engaging airlines, still Singapore Airlines is on top.
If Thai are going to make it in the future then they need to get there business flight up to date and quickly..No more Thai lies that the poos cabin crew must tell passengers.
I will stick with KLM until Thai Airways upgrades its business class to where it once was.

TG is one of the worst airlines in Star Alliance. I had a very bad experience with them - the In-flight Manager had a nonchalant attitude and avoided handling a problem I raised.
Western breakfast has to win every time...
Thai Airways is absolutely horrid. I doubt they will ever regain the accolades they got 10 years ago because the company from the top to the bottom is severely struggling. This shows clearly closer to the bottom as in the condition of their business class. It looks disgusting and dilapidated. Knowing the state of the cabin, and how the maintenance bar in Thailand is so low - I'd be scared to fly a long-haul with them. Glad to see you arrived.
