I was working on an Amana washer which had the three issues you discussed in this video.
Too high water level...Slow agitation...And clicking noise.

hello can a bad shifter motor cause my maytag centennial to stop agitating. it's doing everything but it will not agitate . I checked the shifter motor it was in place with the splotche. but the shifter arm did have a lot of play on the arm it was easy to move it.

1:30 can you define "a tiny bit". you make it sound like if you cut too much off it wont work. This is a detail that really needs to be explained
Good point, but most of the people watching video are pretty smart. I’m not saying that you are not, so please don’t make that assumption.The pressure tube is that clear tube. Behind it on the board and the tube is connected to it. When you see the tube, you can’t cut too much off. If you noticed it has blue string line inside so you definitely can’t cut beyond that. So we are talking about 1.4 mm .So a tiny sliver is basically making it fit more securely. Also if you have a all tension clamp, that would work as well

How do you know if it’s actuator fault or the agitator dogs are fault
So if the actuator is at fault, you might not spin or might not agitate. The dog agits (840 part#) has to do with the agitation. It might not move the clothes around. Usually you would not notice if they were bad. What is going on with your washer?
I replaced mine and clutch or plutch and still does it any thoughts?

So what exactly was your issue? How old is the washer? No agitation? Not spinning? Please give me more details. Also maybe a model number. Just remember washers that have a clutch are different than those that have a shifter
@@appliancerepairshorts replaced the clutch the shifter and it barley agitates it’s an Amana
@@Wetlilfinger make sure your splutch is moving freely. Sometimes you can spray a bit of WD40 just to move things up. Check your capacitor you might have a bad one. You can test it. Check all wire connections. Have you checked the tub hub?
What was the give away that it was the shifter?
The process of operation, the was shifter is responsible for putting the washer into wash and into spin.

How low to the ground should the base of the washer be? Is there suppose to be a metal plate on the bottom?
We moved into a house where the washer is sitting on carpet, and the shipping plug/cardboard wasn’t removed. Trying to troubleshoot currently!

*BASICALLY...DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BRAND.* I should've kept my 20 year old rusty Whirlpool. All my Whirlpool had was the rust in front but worked on every cycle. Ughhh I thought I'd purchase this Amana washer BRAND NEW for a $650.00 here on island and gave my Whirlpool away. This Amana began agitating while filling with water in within 3 months!! Then it wouldn't spin, and now agitates on "delicate" sloooowwwwest cycle. What a pity of a machine. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND.
Yes you’re 140% correct. They are excellent units. I get sad when they get scrapped sold overseas. Check the nut at the bottom also the splutch
