That’s awesome! One of the big complaints I had about the crocodile Dundee knife was that it wasn’t pointed enough to make a good thruster. D.B. Aidee took care of that well enough!

Glad you avoided injury from the gator tail slipping your grip.
I use a loaded strop on my blades and then follow up with a clean strop. Seems to work the best for me. Really digging this blade though. She sure is pretty!!!
I own the outback from down under knives, but I have to say this knive from our brother DBAD, is the real deal it’s a Piece of Art, and maybe one day I own one myself, great video brother, stay save, and veterans I love you❤️

Btw., I like that you found your way of stropping your knifes to an insane level of sharpness.
Actually I can't remember when I removed significant ammounts of steel from a blade to sharpen it, I just strop my knifes the evening before I use them
Last time I used stones to remove quite some steel has to be a year in the past, when I changed the edge angle of my Fallkniven A1 with the Lansky Guided Angle System.
Ok, I have to admit that I did some edge angle changing with the Lansky ceramic rod systems. But with these systems you don't have to remove steel on one side until you raise a burr. Verry little steel gets removed with this systems, but didn't touch the edges with a rod or a stone ever since.
Again, with some additional stropping you get a razor sharp edge.
Sharpen once - strop a livetime.

You are right. You could use this 2×4 split in half for self defense any time.
This Gator Tail is on my list, just on No. 2, right behind the Preacher.

Yeah dbad does an awesome job designing blades like the one tribute to the Angery Jackalobe,who was a fellow brother of the blade an CZcamsr,who recently passed,may he R.I.P..
That knife is some real load of butt kicking goodness! It pretty much does what you ask it to do, and it doesn't make coffee just because it's not loaded! I watch Donne B channel as well and he really has a eye for knives in my opinion. Good job guys!

That was a great video. That is an amazing knife. Made short work of all the wood it hit. Glad that missed your leg or foot. With the way it was cutting that could have been a disaster. I don't know if you carry a trauma kit into the woods or not but you may want to consider it. At least a tourniquet just in case. If that gator tail had hit your leg it would have been serious. So since we love you and your melodious tones take a trauma bag or tourniquet with you. I know you can fashion one from a hank and stick but if an arterial bleed is occurring you may not think clearly enough to get it made.

I read up on the hackberry tree. Turns iut its a tough ass tree that is also very flexible, but its considered useless because its so damn tough. They made baskets and backpacks and floors out of it but because its so damn tough that it wrecks the machinery youre working it with. Thanks for sharing the good the very good, and the ugly! I just got the confirmation email last week from KHHI that my Preacher and Crogall are on the way, alongside the Chuppi knife I also bought. Absolutely excited for those to get here, I've been sleeping too long on getting that Preacher. Not sure what KHHI knife I'll spring for next, but the Gator Tail and McCurdy's Modern kukri are very high on that list.

P.s i chopped the top of not one, but 2 boot tops, and got a bounce that shimmied over towards my hand and cut through my gloves and sliced me, but not so badly as it would have been had i not been wearing the gloves. I likely would have lost my thumd. So i recommend Youngstown kevlar work gloves. Theyre the best, they saved my hands so many damn times, including from getting sucked into an electric planer. ✌🏻✌🏻🇺🇸💙

For my 5'7 self...I think this would be more akin a short sword rather than a knife 😅. I'm a bit torn between this and the d bad dirk ( which Donnie showed a prototype of by the amazing Arizona bladesman ) so maybe I'll wait until a production piece of the dirk gets released and weigh my options then .

Waw Uuueeeė, my heart sunk didn't commented the first time I saw the video bc it brought up flashbacks 😬....I did the same mistake, but In my case ,I underestimated the cutting capability of a titanium Camillus machete, it went through a 3 inch or so, branch like butter and shaved the hairs of my shin.... I got ice cold 🥶, cried a little, and thank God for another day, I'd had bleed out quickly, it could had cut off my leg clean off.... that's why I also ,always since then put lanyards on all my blades, and secure the blade tightly on the hand if doesn't have the lanyard hole don't matter, I do a harness lanyard... I like pirate movies, but wouldn't like to look like one, with one wooden leg.... lol

I know the tang systems are worlds different, but how do you compare it to the Natchez bowie. I have a lot of dbad knives but always wanted a Natchez for the light weight and beautiful clip point, KHHI states this is 700 grams so around the same weight.
To be honest I have never tried the Natchez. I want to so bad I can't stand it and it's on my to do list. I will tell you this I have reviewed or demonstrated just about every design Donnie has. He has a way with big knives because of his design and balance points that they compare with some of the best I've ever done
