Recently I went to Asia for 2 months. I tried to set up a travel alert on my bank account but the site didn't have that feature. I went into a local branch who said they don't do it there. Finally, I called the number on the back of my credit card and spoke to a rep who said "as long as you don't exceed your limit, your transaction won't be declined." I asked if they wanted to at least know where I was going or how long I'd be gone, and she said "we don't need to know." My tip: Have multiple cards from different banks and take cash just in case.
Really connected with your video. Amazing job - looking forward to more! - Lhiamel
Excellent advice😊 Maybe I can add one thing if you travel on your own (not with a group): check out, what you are allowed to bring with you to that foreign country. Otherwise you might have a problem if it is not allowed or the maximum on money you are allowed to bring with you. And be sure to have a letter from your doctor where your medicine that you take with you is listed, so you can make sure that you need it. And maybe check out a plan for driving by bus or tube in advance if you want to save some money in the city where you are going to😊
Happy New Year 2024 to you both ❤❤.
Wanna to hear more about solo traveler, appreciate that.
Thank you for this. My husband of 45 years passed away early 2023. I want to travel. I have wonderful friends but they don’t necessarily want or have the time or means to travel. I’m retired. My grown kids cannot travel like I would like because they have their own little children to tend to.
We are sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and we hope you found some inspiration in this video to try some travel.
I am a physician. My idea of retiring is a slow landing from work. I plan to go to 0.8 in 4 years then 0.5 in 7 years. This will give me more time to do what I want to do outside of work with a continued income source and a sense of purpose. I fortunately have a career that my experience counts and makes it easier to make decisions with less stress. I don’t necesarily have the opression that the corporate word creates. I love what I do, and I believe I help all those that I take care of. That said, my full retirement will be at 70ish.
I love hearing your commentary. Very honest and to the point.
This sounds like a great plan
