I had one when I was 16. Gold quilt top. I remember my mom used to give 3 or 4 dollars a day for lunch. I didn’t eat lunch for 6 months to help pay for it. I ordered it and it took like 9 or 10 months to get it. I’ll never forget opening the case and seeing for the first time. Great guitar. Thanks for sharing Marty.

I remember lusting after these at the local guitar shop when they first hit. They always had at least 5 or 6 of them on the wall. It was my "Red Ryder" BB gun. I eventually got one in 1994. Amber quilt. I think it was $1300 with the tax if memory serves. The guy cut me a deal. I have the receipt somewhere. Still have the guitar. I even got Eddie to play it once in 1995. I can't imagine ever selling it, but who knows.

I received one for college graduation in 1996. Best guitar ever, it has so much tone, feel and the quality of wood is amazing. I do not car what anyone says, it shits on the Peavey and Fender.

I had a reverse evolution with Ed's guitars. I fell in love with the MM. There was something about it. I could just stare at them for hours at the time. They were beautiful. I stupidly thought of Ed's striped guitars as silly junkers. That began to change in the mid to late 90s for me. Now, I worship those original striped guitars and wonder why he ever ditched them. His signature guitars are beautiful. But man, those striped guitars are COOL.

Well, I couldn’t afford one then…and now I really can’t 😅.
I have a couple nice Wolfgang’s and a Franky now and I really enjoy them. That said, I think the woods they chose and the workmanship on the EBMM and the fact that they were the first EVH guitars built, they have a high end quality to them…yours just sounds more “solid” than what they make today ?
