Hey! Side note for those PS3 controllers: they will not charge unless they complete a handshake with the PS3 hardware itself. So if they need to charge, you'll need to plug them into either a PS3 or something equivalent that can mimic that handshake for them to accept juice again.
6:17 re: DualShock 3 charge issue - I had the same issue years ago and assumed for like 2 years my controller died. Turns out the DS3 is weird and only accepts a charge when there is a USB data handshake in the connection. So, you can’t just plug a DS3 into a wall charger and charge it. Your options are plugging into a PS3 itself, some other consoles while they are on, a running laptop or desktop, or what I did, a dedicated ps3-specific controller charger. I have an Energizer 2in1. My controller was not dead after all and I can’t imagine all 3 of yours are dead.
Also - I had issues with long mini-USB cables. I tried to charge my DS3 off my PS3 with a 10-foot cable so I could sit on the couch and play while charging. It worked on my friend’s PS3fat but not my PS3superslim (???). Anyway stick with shorter cables.
I have the usb to xbox dongle from when I followed your 2022 softmodding xbox guide. I bought the XB2 a couple days ago (based on your video) and seems to work great for now. I'm occasionally experiencing losing sync with the adapter using the grey Xbox One controller which has bluetooth so will be monitoring what may be triggering that. I'm only sitting about 7 feet away from the OGXbox/WingmanXB2 converter. Such a HUGE difference playing on a modern controller. Will be much better now for Insignia gameplay!
@@PenceFamilyGaming I haven't tried today but last night it would lose sync in XBMC menu about 2 -3 times while scrolling through games. I think it may have lost sync once while in menu of 'Auto Modellista' but was trying to record my YT video on cellphone with one hand.
@@PenceFamilyGaming Good to know it's not just me. I've had it on for 30 minutes and it just did lose sync while replying to you. It loses sync but then controller rumbles once connection is reestablished. As long as it doesn't happen in game, I can deal with the mysterious resyncing. It is just so nice to use a wireless controller and so glad you did a video for modern controllers with OG xbox. I haven't messed around with any other controllers since I really just wanted a wireless solution for the og xbox. Thanks again Sir! See you on insignia. 😀
Not sure whether it's a good option for insignia, cause using the microphone won't be possible with this adapter. You can only communicate via the original "Xbox communicator" on insignia/Xbox live which requires an original controller with dedicated ports for the communicator.

I am more a Nintendo and PlayStation person. So the only console I had was the original xbox, I had retro emulators in there, probably was the best retro emulator console, I have use a raspberry, but they start breaking with time, starts getting slow. I have the snes mini, it works good, but also little also looking through the games, it is also hard to play a 4 players game and some time it crashes for no reason and have to turn off and on again. In the other hand, the xbox was the perfect retro console, it never turned off, very easy to play 4 players, the speed of the emulators was the same even after like 6 years of use. The only probable was it didn’t had wireless controlllers, I kept looking for many years for a good controller or a dongle, didn’t find it, so I got tired and sold my console. Now looking at this video, I wish I still had my console, it came a little late this dongle.
You should try an Xbox one PC dongle plugged into the adapter, and then sync the controller to the Xbox dongle. Maybe it would have even better input delay
I also have wondered if an xbox pc dongle would work with the OG xbox. At my old age of 50+, the duke and s controller aren't as comfy compared to the xbox one controllers and would be great to use on Insignia.

Has anyone else experienced using the xbox one controller re-syncing in game? It just happened to me for the 1st time while playing Joust (Midway Arcade Treasures). All other times have been while on XBMC dashboard. Debating if I should return this since it's within return window.
I bought one along with this adapter to use since my OG dukes along with my S-types are wearing out.. (prefer the Duke anyhow) Will edit reply when the results come in if this works or not. Note I am not softmodding my console: prefer to keep it vanilla.
@brett5763 Yes. It works. I just tested this yesterday since the adapter and extension cables arrived in the mail. The Hyperkin Duke does infact work perfectly with Xbox. The new secondary triggers repeat the same actions as the White and Black buttons though I personally prefer the White n Black buttons due to being already accustomed to the controls of the Duke for years. Works perfectly. No delays, no issues-Feels great on my hands and the triggers feel softer than ever before. Chose to double post over editing just to get your attention, @brett5763
@@burkanx5546 awesome I haven’t gotten to using mine yet. I tried to work it on my ps3 when my brook for ps stopped working lol. I am playing through ps games rn I’ll eventually get to Xbox OG. By mine I just meant the brook. I held off on the controller cause I heard lots of issues with the stick drift happen. Also some other issues. But knowing it works fine with Xbox one controllers is nice never tried it out
well, the ps3 controllers use a modded bluetooth signal, it's still bluetooth, after all I used ps3 controllers on my phone wirelessly but I had to turn my phone in super user mode and some other apps, something impossible in modern phones, maybe in the future the adapter would be compatible with ps3 controllers

True Story: I bought a Wingman XB for $20 on Mercari in 2021 After getting an Xbox Series X. I wanted to use my PS4 Controller because I do not like Xbox Controllers and I could not yet get my hands on a PS5....6 months later I got my PS5. I then sold my entire Xbox Series X with the Wingman XB (accidentally). I bought an OG Xbox two weeks ago and I want to use use an Xbox One controller with it. Just bought a Wingman XB at full price ($45 + Tax) just now. LOL.
Elite controllers are overrated - you need 2 - while the others being fixed 😩🤣 Man I've been looking for something for days 🧐 didn't find something simple until I changed the CZcams filter to recent 👌✨ noice 👍
I bought the original Wingman XB & after a firmware update it no longer works wirelessly at all. I will never buy another Brooks product as they admit what occurred with the firmware update & refuse refunds. There are multiple reddit threads on this.

I found out that you can also use PC controllers. ones such as the Logitech F310,I even tested it with the Brook Wingman Xb2 and it worked.

Each device only pairs one controller at a time. For the other three slots you'll need one XB2 adaoter for each one
