How did you arrived on this conclusion?
Now that you said it... it feels not too wrong really. Being a Marathi the thought of any Bollywood to be precise a non Marathi actor playing Chattrapati Shambhaji Maharaj or Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj never really appealed to me. But with Vicky's current look I feel it's not too impossible. But, he needs to learn Marathi and that particular dilect even if it's a Hindi movie. Varna maza nahi ayega. Can't have an accent wala Marathi in it.

Fld.Marshal Sam was born in Amritsar. He could speak Punjabi, Pashto and Urdu fluently along with his mother tongue of Gujarati.

Also his name was Manekshaw, he was called Manekshah by a few ministers of Nehru's cabinet who couldn't pronounce his name correctly.
