- The Cure: Tape (edit) / Open / High
Live at Kilburn National Ballroom, London UK
3rd may 1992
I made an upgrade of this infamous live promo VHS by syncing the FM radio broadcast to the blurry VHS picture... I wish I could do it with the original U-Matic television master tape. Oh well, this is still better than nothing. :)
I edited the tracks to make a continous live show feel instead of sticking to the annoying audio/video fades between the songs. I also made the intro Tape longer by editing the FM broadcast version from 3.5 to around 1.5 minutes with added 60-70 seconds of blank screen, because the original quick fade-in to the last moments of Tape with Open's bass theme kicking in was very disappointing.
Okay, enough of the rubbish tech-speech, enjoy this 10-11 minute excerpt!
Cheers,

Perry Bamonte, Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Boris Williams and Porl Thompson.. Best Line up ever
Agree
There's nothing better than a cure concert....... Nothing!!!.....
There will never be something as powerful as this in my life again 🔥❤️ The Wish Tour was surreal
Hell yea I was there
The tune from Tape had literally been in my head since 1992. Best concert intro ever. PS thanks for posting this!!! So good.
A classic from the start! Long live Robert Smith to the end of times!!
I saw this show in Paris, Bercy stage..What a wonderful memory
Thanks for posting.
I was there that night, one of the lucky ones. They could have easily played Wembley Stadium but instead they played Kilburn National, a sadly missed London Venue.
The second best concert of my life, the band played for over 3 hours, I wish I still had the Xfm live radio concert.
Do you have it anywhere else?
It is widely available in lossless format.
Oh Boris how I long for thee. You were such a huge influence on the sound during this era. Rhythmic perfection. And then he loved the beautiful Queen of all songbirds before she had to leave this mortal plane. RIP Caroline. I grieve with you Boris. God-strength to you!
Don't leave out Perry's sounds. He is a big lose in the group.
he best Cure line up by far
No doubt. I miss Perry Bamonte's sounds.
The bootleg of this show is one of my favorite. Listened to it thousand times. To watch it is just amazing.

This show was aired in 1993 at night in the Spanish Television TVE2. I recorded it with my videotape recorder VHS 📼.

Deirdre Lowe : Ah, but we were blessed with it very briefly. 😊

I prefer Jason :)
Soren Madsen you prefer sloppiness
That's some amazing sound for a live show!!
The original promotional recording has terribly inferior mono sound in low volume full of tape hiss. This audio is made (cut-up and remastered) from the digital satellite broadcast recordings.
I'm guessing this was recorded as a potential release that became Show and they chose a different concert? Lots of camera angles and great sound.
I don't think so. It was probably recorded for promotional purposes only. As you can see, it was broadcast on TV and is available on promo VHS tape. That's all.
