you can write the date either in the starting while writing senders address and other obvious things or in the ending part thats totally up to you also dont forget to write the date in alpha numeric form and leaving lines after each and every thing :))

But now your doubt will be,
But the thing is, last year I didn't go to village in summer vacation. I had gone 2 years ago. Means, yes I go to village in summer vacation but last year I didn't...
In that case, you can express that idea by saying:
"Every summer vacation, I would go to my village, but last year I didn't go. The last time I went was two years ago."
This way, you're still emphasizing the habitual nature of going to the village during summer vacations, but you're also specifying that there was an exception last year. Then, you provide the correct timing of your last visit to the village.
