I own this deck and can tell you that it's a precision machine. High quality build. It's a 2 head transport system, but it's an Akai, Twin Field Super GX Head that produces fantastic recordings. I still have tapes in my collection that I recorded with this machine and they sound just as good as when I made them 40+ years ago. Great piece of hardware, indeed!
@@shilka5637 the rubber of the idler needs to roughned up. If available you can replace the idler. They wear out easily, sometimes already within 6 years.
Fast winding is performed by a rubber idler. That wears out, you can try to replace it (not the most easy part, but there is a description online). Or clean and roughen up the existing idler.

mine can't rewind or fast forward but plays fine, how do I fix?

mine is in the basement. Still works but it wil not rewind or FF, probably just dirty friction pads.
