Step one: Remake the movie into a series.
      Step two:
Season 1) One hour episodes of each ghost’s backstory
Season 2) How each ghost was captured
Season 3) Movie events, however each episode consists on how each family member deals with one ghost per episode with the last episode dealing with Cyrus and season finale.
Season 4) what each ghost does after escaping the house.
Final season) Each ghost ends up being saved somehow thus giving the movie and series a proper ending.
Step 3: Netflix picks it up
      Step 4: Profit

I think dennis was the 13th ghost - because It had to be an act of love? Or selflessness- technically dennis gave his life protecting Arthur. But maybe it was because his uncle never caught him or put a spell on his spirit that he wasn’t in that circle because his uncle sure as hell didnt die willingly.

On another note... I never knew how to feel about the fact they released the ghost back into the world. They may not all kill people but we know for a fact 3 of them [angry princess, juggernaut, The hammer] have killed a lot of people before Cyrus kidnapped them. We then...just let them free into the woods. Lmao god bless anyone who goes into those woods.

One of the only problems I ever had with this movie was with Kalina and Damon's whole "spirit liberator" shtick. Jean is the only spirit I could totally call non-violent; even the ones that seem incapable of harming someone due to the way they appear (The Pilgrimess and The Bound Woman for instance); their appearances are still traumatizing and they still attempt to do harm. Hell I'm pretty sure it's the Bound Woman's voice who's doing most of the luring to get Bobby into the basement. The reason I bring this up is that in the sequence they're introduced; Damon accuses what Cyrus is doing as out and out slavery. I'm not saying Damon is wrong; but we see point blank with Juggernaut, Hammer, Jackal, Torn Prince and Angry Princess act with the intent of doing harm to the living whenever the opportunity is presented. What exactly is the downside to imprisoning them? Using them for the whole Eye of Hell thing= bad, makes sense; but it's the last thing Damon mentions and is instead chastising Cyrus for the imprisonment more than anything and only jumps on the plan when Cyrus and Dennis blow his primary concerns off.
Kalina doing the same thing later could easily just be part of her act to convince Arthur to trust her false interpretations of The Arcanum; as she has no issue with Arthur dying to give Cyrus what he wants. And at the end of the movie what do we have? Yes the family survives the ordeal... but there's 11 ghosts right outside with a pretty good reason to hate their entire family; who's to say they actually managed to get home safely at the end. Yeah we see them disappear but ghosts friggin' do that all the time, and, as Dennis himself states: "Oh GOD, I hate it when they do that!! They wait for you to stick your face right up in the glass, and then give you a big fat "BOO"!" Who can say that their disappearing isn't them just waiting for the family to come out of what little remains of the "Ecto-bar Glass" and protection spells making up what remains in the house's foundation to butcher them like cattle? At least 2 of them are freaking serial killers; such a tactic would be right up their alley!

Gotta be honest I thought it was a horror/comedy not a pure horror movie because of some moments especially when the babysitter starts playing around with the disktrack like a DJ and somehow survived at the end, it one of those moments where a black person doesn't die first in a horror film.

It would be great if a sequel to "Thirteen Ghosts" was made. This movie was very good and probably can be considered one of the scariest movies ever created. The characters were incredibly terrifying and if the story was more elaborated and the ghosts were re-created in same great detail as before, it would be a box office hit for this era.

This is one of my favorite horror movies. My grandfather and I used to always watch this during Halloween and we still do now even though I'm 27. I feel like a second one should be made maybe involving the freed ghosts or maybe a prequel to this as to how he made the machine and how he got the ghosts and their stories.

This film was not well received back in the day, but I loved it. One sad point is that the description of the 13 ghosts (accompanied by graphic novel-style drawings) was not included in the actual movie (it was an extra feature in the DVD, and can still be found on CZcams).
