Am i missing something. You know Mike Mezak pitches PCGS and NGC slabbed coins also. As well as First Commemorative Mint (fcm), The Bradford Exchange, and coins from the US Mint in the original mint packaging. SO I AM NOT SURE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. Is he an unofficial spokesperson for all these businesses?

Great video! I have no issues buying ANACS slabbed coins. I am a believer of buying the coin and not the slab. I always look at the coin first to determine if I think it’s good for the grade regardless of the slab that it’s in. Depending on the coin, I wouldn’t hesitate submitting to ANACS to authenticate just like I wouldn’t to NGC or PCGS.
Yet another great and important video. I like ANACS, They seem to cover more coin varieties and are cheaper to use than the big two grading companies. Thanks Daniel!

ANACs in my opinion is just as good, if not better than PCGS or NGC. I think much of the perceived 2nd tiered status ANACs receives is from the Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt spread by coin dealers and the Tier 1 grading companies themselves. Submitting to PCGS is a nightmare. My last order took 5 months, and 6 months to get the images up. How do dealers handle that?? Ridiculous. Use ANACs.
I like ANACS personally. I like their slabs, and I LOVE that you can see at a glance what coin it is by the top.
Usually when I send stuff off from my personal collection, I ship it to ICG because of price, and because it doesn't really matter what grade they give it. It's for my use.
But... The first Franklin I bought was ANACS, and I started to build a set of ANACS Franklins. Now I have a better appreciation for their slab I've been thinking of sending ALL of my future private collection coins to them instead of ICG. I'll pay a few bucks extra for the better slab.
Still got to keep ICG for counterfeits though, I wish other companies would do that.
Seeing the top of the slab in my slab boxes what I really like about ANACS. That is a great feature.
Living out here in Denver, I've met a couple of the ANACS graders at the coin shows. They are actually HARDER to get a high grade from these guys. Nice folks, they call it like they see it. Straight shooters!! T.E. in Aurora , Colorado

I agree -- I wash my hands a lot when dealing with coins, even with stuff in some kind of box set or whatever just to keep them really clean. And I scrub my hands well after going through piles of circulated coins because my hands just feel dirty. ;)
I actually like ANACS, their grades are most of the time spot on, unlike PCGS and NGC where they undergrade coins as much as 4 grades lower when you crossover coins from pcgs to ngc and vice versa, sometimes it feels like pcgs,ngc and cac are some type of coin mafia that control prices and grades that's why ANACS has a hard time beating them.
It's not as though PCGS and NGC are super-strict graders. There is tons of overgraded crap in those holders and they sell and resell on eBay as each dealer finds the next sucker to buy the slabs. That's why you have to educate yourself. I don't trust ANACS on uncirculated grades but they seem to be conservative on grades of VF20 or lower. So I seek out key date ANACS coins in lower grades, IF I can get a deal on the price.

In the 60's I was in my teens and tried to start collecting coins. It did not take me long to realize I could not grade. I wish they or anyone had started sooner.

I have sixty ANACS little soapbox holders. A lot of them are my better date Morgans. I think they are properly graded and would never think about sending them to NGC or PCGS for a regrade. I recently found a guy that makes inserts that fit both NGC and PCGS boxes. The soap box holders and PCGS holders fit perfectly in the inserts and the inserts fit in the boxes.
Man thay sounds neat, is it online by chance? Most my key dates are in soapboxes as well. I have to bubble wrap them because I don't have a box they fit in.
Great GREAT share and lesson! How many gloves would be in the trash EVERYDAY if graders, coin shop owners, customers and hobbyists wore them handling coins. You said it "waste" stay safe keep washing and sanitizing and have a GREAT day too!!!
With the wait time issues PCGS and NGC have been having recently, now is the time for ANACS to get some market share back. I submitted some coins to ANACS in January and had them back in less than 3 weeks. Just do some research about the dates and grades that lose a lot of value in an ANACS holder.

I've been collecting since 1970! I have never seen an over-graded coin in an ANACS holder! They are always spot on! The older small white holders have the best coins! Buy some and you won't be sorry! PCGS has become a joke! 20% of their coins are over-graded!
The old soapbox slabs are my favorite. I've done well with buying them.

I’m a fan of ANACS not only for grading but customer service. I am polite well I think so and also patient. I was on the phone two weeks with PCGS first on hold for an hour went through three people for answer no luck. Called back was cut off a bunch of times. Called ANACS asked a question person could not answer transferred me to another person. Question answered with yes sir no sir. Turn around time 3 months for premium sorry unacceptable. ANCCS a month. I’ll take a hit on the premium if I sell if not I’ll continue with a class company.
I do pretty well in determining that a coin is uncirculated but I couldn't tell you the difference between a 69 and 70 grade or any other grade that is separated by only one point. Fortunately I rarely ever sell a coin to have to worry about it.
I recently sent a set of Lincoln cents to PCGS and I'll never do it again. It took them forever and it was expensive and I had to send it via a friend who was a member or join myself if I understood their somewhat confusing babble correctly. I've always used ANACS in the past and will stick with them.
The Graders at ANACS are just as good as the ones at PCGS and NGC. However, PCGS will fetch the most $$ at auction.
The one problem I have with PCGS is that their holders chip too easily. That is my gripe with them.

Great video and explanation on history of the company. Personally speaking, I am just fine with an ANACS slabbed coin, but it’s an individual preference.
It's a little sad that labels effect prices, I would prefer to purchase coins in ANACS holders only because You get a better price than one in a NGC or PCGS holder for the same coin.

I’ve always liked ANACS, I think they suffer from not having the marketability of PCGS or NGC, but they do grade fairly and I never worry about authenticity with them either.

I have several early ANACS soapboxes. Some before they had a bar code. I don’t think they were graded as well as the newer ANACS. I will most likely try to sell the older as “vintage slabs.” I also think modern ANACS grades as strict as PCGS. But they write to much on the label of detailed coins which hurts their sell market. But, I really like the size of their older soapbox slabs. You can fit more in a safety box or hiding place. These new slabs are bigger than they need to be for most coins.

I collect old anacs small white slabbed coins and I have sent some in to pcgs and ngc in the past but I don't anymore they always came back a point or two up or down.

I just dropped off 10 Morgans at a show with Anacs, they are running a special 130.00 for 10 coins. First time I've ever had my coins graded. The turnaround times for PCGS are crazy. The coins I sent were all uncirculated and should grade high but like you said you won't get nearly as much with Anacs grade but it will at least tell me if I should send it to PCGS if the grade warrants it and it makes financial sense to do so.
Great information! I have a few ANACS slabs and I tend to agree with the grade on each otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. I have seen some PCGS and NGC slabs I didn't agree with the grade and didn't buy. As you say some subjective, bias eyes but that is everywhere and with everything. Thanks for your time!
I have an old type ANACS in a holder and it has pictures on both sides so I think it is very reliable. However, it is a little sad that rust has appeared since I bought it. I don't really like the current grade because I think it's rare for a coin to have both sides exactly the same. Thank you for the fun program.

I sent many coins to ANACS and had several 63/65 graded Morgans from the Redfield hoard back in the day. Overall very pleased. Today a 1916-S Walker on eBay is a PCGS VF25 with a CAC sticker. I'm shocked. To my eye it's overgraded with an unattractive reverse. Yet so many collectors seem to worship PCGS and CAÇ.
Daniel, just to mention it, the 1901-0 Morgan with the MS65 on the holder, you said, "This one would never be graded a MS65." If you look at the actual Certificate ANACS graded it a MS63. For what it is worth, from what I have seen, ANACS is very good!
Yes, but you're ignoring the writing on the carboard insert. it reads MS65.
In my opinion, ANACS is the best grading service out there. They're cheaper, faster, and cover more varieties. I'm fine with their slabs drawing less of a premium than the other two, I'll gladly take the discount when buying ANACS slabs!
Old photograde Anacs are good and worth a medium sized premium
The old photo certs have no value at all in today's market.
I keep them for nostalgia.
I have had experience with PCGS and NGC. Wasn’t impressed. I have since been using ANACS and am very pleased.
I think if anacs went back to there old small soap box holders they would do well I really like the old small holders

I believe all the 1921s are under valued.They are the first to be melted when the price of silver goes way up.So many have been melted that the survival rate is a lot less than the original mintage.Pick up them while you can.I definitely would if I had the money.

heard a rumor that early ANACS slabs, not sure which generation, were known for tinting/discoloring some coins...anyone know if this is true?
I can't say that the rumors true or not but I have some Franklin cams in ANACS holders that have a golden tone around the rim
Thanks for the info. One question I have is let's say. You have a coin graded by pcgs and have the same exact coin graded by anacs. Can you estimate how much more you would get if you sold the pcgs coin as compared to the anacs coin? Thanks again. I know that's a hypothetical question but am curious.
You would have to lookup sold auctions to find that out.
Yeah I like ANACS but some error I have of them is hard to find the value on them. I wish I knew how to find the ones that compare to PCGS errors. But I don’t know how to it it in words.

Really. Send all 54 to Anacs. Call them. If they are all same date, same mint mark, they are modern coins & you could probably get them for 12.00 to 15.00 each. OR you could send them to PCGS and pay 35.00 each which would bring your cost up higher than I would prefer. but go for it if you have money to burn.
I think anacs is more strict on grading vs pcgs, ngc but anacs have a lesser chance of mixing up your coins in holders or wrong grade

Old anacs soapbox holders are my favorite slabs. They seemed to be more consistent then. I would never use them now. Hard on older stuff and over grade moderns

@@CoinHELPu Agreed. Although to upgrade the plastic, you no longer can have bulk specials, (50 or more coins), no more 10.00 a coin show specials, no more Buffalo nickel specials at 14.00 per coin. No more 10 coins for 129.00, no more 20 coins for 222.00 free shipping. EACH COIN could cost you 35.00 for an easy order, just to pay for your higher quality plastic. That doubles & almost triples your costs. Authentication & grading is the same, SO What do you choose. If all 100,000 of their customers choose. You can have better plastic, if you accept the price changes. What do you think? Like the NGC slabs, but they are charging me 35.00 per coin on top of s/h & insurance. So you choose.

@@albertwebb5387 Why should they. ALL 1964 dimes, quarters, Halves are 90%. If not, than that IS listed as a variety & info is provided. All 1939 dimes are winged liberty, so why should they say. They are also 90%. SO if they are NOT, then they say. This is Red Book stuff & then they have to consider putting more info on the label which is not necessary. ALL 1965 halves are 40%, if not, than THAT and it's weight gets put on the label, otherwise it is a normal 1965 half.

Guys word to the wise don’t send PCGS and NGC coins that are slabbed by Anacs because you will get a return coin in a much lower grade. Crack the coin out of the slab and then submit it. You’re welcome

Graders are wrong a lot, all of them. Unfortunately people rely on them

our friend on HSN uses ANACS as a bell weather for coin prices. he will send in a shit load of coins to ANACS get unrealistic high grades and sell them at NGC or PCGS prices, then when he sells the same coins in Ngc or Pcgs holders he sells at an exorbitant price thinking you are getting something special. ana/anacs were good grading in the early days let's not try to make them out to be something there not. their coins just don't hold value and saying they do is not truthful.
They're still as good as a grading company as PCGS or NGC, but they don't command the market premium, it's just the trend. I know, because I use all three.
What do you folks just don't get? HSN, Collector Universe, Coin Vault, Mike Mezak........DO NOT SEND COINS TO ANACS. Now, they may buy the coins from folks who ARE Anacs customers, BUT Anacs does NOT do coins for them. So wake up. You send your Anacs coins to Great Collections Auction House, but YOU are the customer, and you can sell your coins to anyone you please. And they can sell them to anyone they choose, also. Get it? Why do so many of you think you know, when you don't.

Anacs is absolutely not reliable. I have purchased straight graded coins and had both NGC and PCGS return them as cleaned. They may be able to grade, but they are way too loose with cleaned coins. STAY AWAY!
ANACS is reliable and just as much as the others.
