  • What is the relationship between sexuality, religion, and the chaos in our culture? As Cardinal Cantalamessa says, “Human sexuality is the first school of religion.” Looking at the etymology of the word “religion” and its deeper meaning, we can apply the principles of Theology of the Body and come to see how deeply linked these two are. Our culture is in desperate need of John Paul II’s Theology of the Body to reshape the way we see the world and God!

This is a perfect video for people who say "Christianity isn't a religion; it's a relationship."

That's because religions are misinterpreted, the message within the one you believe. Not too many pay attention to the words of the man they pray to, in which he says to not worship him, as the kingdom lies within.
We are all children of the The Universe/God. Bill Donahue is a good source into looking at the allegorical meanings of your religion. ✌️&💜

This is so true. This is pretty much how all my pondering in this area that the gospel of Christ really and truly resonate with me.

We are designed to love (truly and completely will the good of the other person) and to receive love. Most importantly to give our hearts to God and to be open to God’s love. If we keep that relationship at the center of our lives, we’ll be in a position to properly orient ourselves to sexuality. It cost me too many lost years to come to this understanding.

Our first bond is through breastfeeding. It’s at the mother’s breast that we drink in our desire for physical hunger and we fulfill our need for human connection. We stare at her human face, we touch, taste and feel her human flesh as we listen to the gulping sounds of desire fulfilled. We are bonded. Our first lesson in religion has begun.

@@noreencosta1539 I agree Noreen that parents are the face of God to their children. It just struck me though that because so many babies within Western civilization are no longer breastfed, whether this would have a knock-on effect on ability to relate to God (if you follow this line of thinking through to its logical conclusion) and how inadequate it may make some mothers feel in a society which is not really geared-up for long term breastfeeding.

@@jopatten-walsh4167 Our abandonment of breastfeeding is one of the many heads of the dragon that is making war on the family. Sadly, it's also one of the most benign emanations of the devils' hatred for babies.
Fun fact: I don't know about other states, but the law in Florida is written in such a way that breastfeeding can never be treated as obscene or indecent. It's explicitly excepted in laws regarding the subject. The law doesn't hold people back but social stigma still does.

It's not that we're not making bonds-we're not honoring them. This is an interesting theory on a memory I've had since adolescence(because I had no idea where it was coming from, and barely what it was) and that was of getting a horny attack in church-and not even thinking of anyone. My life, then, was so dysfunctional. I didn't even have a parental bond. No father; mother rejected me at birth.

I think you take for granted that everybody wishes for a family, which can ultimately fulfil them and i think this misses so many experiences of so many different people and their backgrounds, sorry to say but your message is so simplified it already sounds like religious propaganda - its easy to convince the convinced

No its not correct, Reich was not againsy family and spirituality, he and freud just explained how human biology is relates to psychology, forming psychosomatics, and how religion controls supress human nature potential and forms fake bonds, fake tribalism, and aggression by supressing natural desires..
Every normal person want family and fidelity, it is intrinsic human nature.
No external force , nor religion will help to find true love, in order this to happen freedom is needed ,communion with nature, cosmos,
not forcing ,not fear, not control
.Those who are polygamous, not faithful, carnal , materialistic are those who go to Church to hide and still do bad things are selfish and greedy, and then they forgiven.
Emontional and mental health , wholeness is achieved with psychptherapy, environment, uprigning in natural ways.

The church sells the problem (sin) and sells the solution (salvation). It's the biggest scam in the world.
