OVER & UNDER RATED UK Rollercoasters!?

- Ever ridden a rollercoaster in the UK and thought.. damn people rate that so much higher than it actually is. Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Legoland Windsor, Chessington, Oakwood Theme Park and more all have different rides that could be considered over and under rated! I'm here today to list my opinions on this matter, along with going through your guys' too!

I love it but the seats kill your back so I think it needs new comforter seats and get re tracked because otherwise there isn’t many big rides at Chessington even with the new one
Galactica is very underrated.
It’s really good and actually kinda intense when you flip!

the big dipper at blackpool is so underrated. i don’t care that it has the potential to break someone’s neck, it is God’s greatest creation. it was handcrafted by angels.
Yeah, very old ride, but worth it, lashes you around
When I went I loved the first ride at the back so I rid it again and then 1 train broke so the queue got long perfect ride to break your back on
I love Saw:The Ride and I personally think the roughness of it fits the theme as the films is all about John aka Jigsaw testing you and placing people in traps to see if they are "worthy" of the life they have and I feel the roughness is part of that charm as the ride is designed to feel like a Jigsaw trap but you do take a head pounding on the ride tho!

Lol I think it’s more a case of there’s just too many opinionated people in the U.K (rather than lots of under/overrated coasters), that like to moan. It seems to be our culture these days 🤣. I live in the U.K. and have just started vlogging. My word people can moan when there’s just no need ha 🤣. I thought the equestrian industry was bad!

Lapped Shockwave about 8 times in a row yesterday with some new found enthusiast friends, going back in half term to say my last goodbye to the standing train.
I love the front row, hands off.
It's my first (and so far only, which I plan to rectify next year) thrill coaster. I'll be very sad to see it go. I am curious to feel it with the new train but it won't be the same.
Another great video. I dont know how this is possible but there is a roller coaster in the uk that might be more rough then hero, the roller coaster is Mine Train at Hayling Island

Vampire is fantastic, my first ever proper rollercoaster back in the early 90s. It holds so much nostalgia for me, it needs to be preserved at all costs.
Same, I honestly can’t see Chessington ever getting rid of it. I could imagine a retrack like Nemesis in a few years tho
I think that's why it's good - it's tame enough that you can ride it as a kid and not *die* but it's still exciting enough that if you ride it when you're a kid you develop a love for rollercoasters

My first time on Rita, I put my hands up, and my neck went UNDER THE HARNESS. I never went on Rita again.

I think one of the most underrated UK coasters is millennium at fantasy island. Fantasy island in itself is never talked about much as a theme park (which fair enough because most of the rides meaning every ride but two can be found similar enough in other parks) but millennium is never seen or heard when talking about UK coasters. It was my first upside down ride and one of my first big coasters, and it’s still honestly amazing. It’s the fifth tallest rollercoaster in the UK (that’s including hyperia) and dare I say also one of the smoothest in the UK too (shocking given that it’s a bloody vekoma but here we are) also it’s just genuinely fun to ride

Mandrill mayhem is extremely underrated I laughed when it was under construction and after 12 rides now I rank it above swarm
6:23 is sub terra a joke to you? i never did og nemesis, but for me it’s one of the weaker rides at Thorpe, I’d rather ride samurai or vortex or another flat over it, same with saw. but if you go on it after it’s been raining, it’s absolutely amazing! great vid!

Mighty mini mega at adventure island is the most underrated coaster in the uk! Honestly, it has some pretty good forces and airtime
Rita is definitely underrated everyone hates it even though it's a good ride
Grand national is underrated due to it getting too much hate for what it's worth, it is a very intense ride especially considering when it was built. Yeah there is a little but of roughness here and there but it genuinely isn't bad at all.
I definitely feel Th13teen is underrated especially with its mixture of elements. I also feel Rita is underrated as I feel that launch just has a good punch to it. Yes it's short, but you can't beat the launch it has. Sorry Dan 🤣

Saw is my favourite ride I just love it
You can actually see the management meeting of Rita where they discuss they want a ride that launches but didn’t have the budget for the rest of the ride 🫣. It’s a good ride, just a bit of ‘nothing’ after the launch I think.
I prefer Rita to Stealth, Stealth is over in seconds it's literally just a launch.
@@user-zp4ge3yp2o I’ve not ridden Stealth in such a long time. Just depends on what you like really. I like the faster acceleration of Stealth and quite like going 200ft high.
@@CoastersThrillsAndAirtimeHillsbut you are only 200 ft high for about three seconds. It's good I just get more out of Rita, but they are at separate parks so they aren't really competing anyway

I enjoyed Rita, but I was lucky to get a front row seat (which was fairly smooth, although I imagine the back row might be entirely different).
It's pretty sad that all our great coasters are overrated when you compare it to the rest of the world😂😭 hyperia will change that, though😂 great video as always dan!!!
2:55 I used to really like Saw, but then I got taller and the restraints started digging into my shoulders in the airtime moments.

Underrated- Millennium at fantasy island, not too intense just a cool ride a bonus that it hardly ever has a long queue time
Overrated- Oblivion, more time on the lift hill than anything else. Also I hear what you meen about Vampire but Vampire in the dark on howloween is alot better, it gives the rides theming abit more atmosphere in the graveyard que line and also when the ride is running quicker which it usually is on night rides it's alot better
Odyssey at Fantasy Island is probably my favourite drop, but big one is definitely close behind and I’m pretty optimistic for Exodus/Hyperia.
I’m going to say this one purely to trigger the Nemesis fans but Nemesis’ is overhyped (not overrated, please don’t murder me) - but best wishes from a Smiler fan 😌

Hero is the best ride at flamingo, I thought it was better than Sik and Mumbo Jumbo. I also think SLCs are the best coasters at least in the uk. Infusion and Kumasi are GOATED

Imo Vampire is only overrated if it’s being viewed on the same level as other bigger thrill coasters, which is unfair as it’s meant to be more of a family ride.
I think it deserves its praise as a great beginner coaster, it’s a really fun ride that isn’t too intense and has some nice theming. It’s not meant to be “scary”, so those who like bigger thrills might not enjoy it very much.

ive worked at 3 theme main theme parks in the uk. hopefully universal studios great britain opens in a few years after theyve finished the orlando, las vagas and texas minor projects. the Great Britain Universal Studios will be the main park after Universal Studios Beijing china.
So, with vampire. The vekoma trains don’t swing as much as the original arrow trains.

Th13teen has great airtime. It's my 3rd favourite at Alton Towers, behind Wickerman and Galactica. Plus, the launches have decent force.
My favourite was Smiler before I got tall enough for the restraints to start digging in. That's now my least favourite in the park.

But in terms of forces, Wickerman's my favourite.
It's almost as intense as Smiler, but without those awful Gerstlauer OTSRs.
I went on the big one yesterday and it...has no feeling? There's no g force or anything, it's just rough and really boring. Nice view though.

Rita is very underrated. I feel like stealth gets all the attention even though it has a shorter layout (ok fine I haven't been on it, but Rita is still underrated)
I also think wickerman is a little bit overrated. Now don't get me wrong, it's an amazing ride and the theming is top notch but I just think it gets talked about too much.
I think spinball whizzer and galactica are underrated too.

Vampire does nothing for me nowadays, I find Dragon's Fury the best coaster in the park. I agree that saw is underrated. Rita is the middest ride at towers. I enjoy 13 and the crypt gets me every time! Nemesis Inferno is my second favourite coaster in the country. (Behind nemesis of course)
Oblivion is my second favourite coaster at towers. Wicker Man and Smiler is overrated in my opinion. Still good though.

I would say Nemesis Inferno is underrated because it's always compared to the original.
Underrated: Aero Explorer at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (literally no one talks about this and its one of the best coasters [if you count it as one] in the uk)
Overrated: ICON - it is really good but not the best in the uk for me like many say.

Overrated: Wickerman. Yep I’m part of that clan. Although I’ve never done it on the back so maybe it’s different there. But the ride doesn’t do much for me.
Underrated: both Rita and 13. I’d take either over wickerman. Though none of them are in the top 3 rides at towers

My opinion
Overrated: Colossus (bc it is rough and seats are crammed)
Underrated: Hero (I had good rides on it even though it is a little bit rough)
To be honest, I think vampire is underrated and dragons fury is overrated because when I went on it it was extremely bumpy, dragons fury but for vampire, it was smooth as butter

What did Google say about a -4 Rating on hero? Seriously, I wasnt on it myself, but from what I've seen and heard from other People, that is 5 grades too high 😂
I know I am weird but I think Hero is the most underrated ride I ever been on, it has a 0.4 rating on Google but I give it 4 out of 5.
I had good rides everytime I went on it
Go on the right side middle seat, that's where it is smoothest
But that's my opinion
