- I have been thinking of designing my own outfits and that helped me found out a 'designer fabrics' store in Delhi, called "Tek Chand Fabrics".This store sells all kinds of fabrics including luxurious, basics and more. You are sure to find out something in your budget at this store using which you can design your own Bollywood style outfits worth Rs lakhs. So I wanted to be clear that I didn’t dislike the video. I dislike the business and here’s the reasons:
1. Upon walking in and asking to see certain fabrics, I was immediately met with push back and an urgency to buy. They kept pushing “which one? Which one do you want to buy?” when I am just beginning to look at fabric. This was literally within the first 5-7 minutes of my friends and I taking a seat.
2. Some of the better fabric was remnants. They didn’t have enough to even make 1 lehnga or gown out of. So they tried to sell me two remnants in varying shades saying once lining was in no one would be able to tell. One was a cool white and the other a very light blush.
3. I asked for the designer on 5 different occasions. They kept screaming at each other over who had her number. Then they said buy the fabric and we will take you to a tailor. Basically, focused on the sale only.
4. They kept treating us as if we were stupid and didn’t understand the tailoring or construction of garments or how even textiles are produced. Cheap Chinese net fabric with industrial machine embroidery and machine beading was being passed off as “handwork” and when I corrected them, you could visibly see the anger.
5. One of the fabrics shown in this video for around 2000 INR was quoted to us at almost 5000 INR because I think they thought that we wouldn’t come with research.
6. The designer was not even available until 1:30 or 2 pm but they wanted us to buy the fabric, lining, interfacing, boning and stitching not included. The same fabric they wanted 6950 INR per meter for, we found at another store for 1365 INR and then received another 15% discount on it. So, we were able to purchase the 6 meters we needed including lining for 7340 INR so, for the price of less than 2 meters, we were able to have the entire gown bought and tailored. Same exact fabric. I plan on purchasing more of it and going back to the store and throwing it at them so they understand why trying to deceive me was a mistake.
7. I had foreigners with me and I myself live abroad but that doesn’t mean the store employees should act like con artists coming up with prices on the spot. Every time we’d ask the price from the sales person, he’d ask someone else who would wave his hand and roll his head “4500” “6950” “7235” etc. It’s like nothing we wanted was under 4000 INR while in your video they were selling it for less than 2000 INR per meter.
I’ve used your channel for research before and have been very happy with results. I am very disappointed that this den of crooks is a recommendation.

1750-3500 rs per meter for a good looking fabric and for any flared dress you need 4-5 meters. So basically we are spending more than 9000 just on fabric. Then stitching and laces etc.. Always remember designing a dress costs 2x to 3x more than buying a readymade one... I love custom made dresses but always end with budget constraints 😥

Yes it's my experience with most of the shops that I see on vlog. Once you visit them they claim so much price...
The fabric she liked for her saree was the one that Jacqueline Fernandes wore as a lehenga in one of Ambani kids' wedding.

The priceings we're according to the products.nothing more or less.and it's even that luxurious.i guess in 2500 to 3000 a saree will be available.desingner saree costs more.i will pay a visit fr sure.loved the variety display
