So thrilled to see this most wonderful statue restored. Just shows how the universe kicks in to help. I mean, what were the chances of someone having the disembodied head in storage! The skill of the restoration expert! Always had a particular love of stags and this statue holds all the magic and grandure, a fine and noble beastie indeed, would happily pay 30k plus for this if had the funds - just marvellous! 💖💖💖

This beautiful statue should be offered for sale to the Hungarian government. The white stag is prevalent in Hungarian mythology; it was believed that a white stag led the brothers Hunor and Magor to Scythia, an action which preceded the formation of the Hun and Magyar people. The Hungarian legend of the White Stag is one of the oldest legends of the nation. It is so old that it is found in various forms among those nations who were the distant relatives or neighbors of the Hungarians, long before their settlement in Hungary. The meaning and the wording of the legends may have changed slightly but they all have much in common. Today the remaining legend is relatively short, whereas in the past it was probably much more extensive. However, the Hungarian legend, despite it's brevity, includes in it many important points some of which can be found in most of the related legends found in other cultures. It is these points which show that once, in the remote antiquity, these people were neighbors or some were even related.
