The Beast is the ultimate chaser. Present on every English-language version, he is very imposing both physically and intellectually, he has a lightning-fast brain that can allow him to catch targets no other Chaser could. If life was a video game this guy's stats would all be maxed out.
Ann hegerty is actually the best chaser then beast is second. Over the entire series she has the highest success rate around 98%

The Beast loss weight and he is still a big man. I love The Beast. I saw the episode where James played against The Beast it was a good show.

Imagine a special episode with Ken, James and Brad vs the Beast. That would be awesome.

Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer were tough for the chasee's but they where beatable, But to be a true trivia master You got to beat the Beast. In the famous words of Brooke Burns, "UNLEASH THE BEAST!" Side note Mark Labbett is a master at zingers and burns. He is funny and that accent is sexy as hell.
The UK Chasers are just one small step below the literal best quizzers in the world. they consistently rank pretty high in the world quizzing circuit and one of them was the UK Quizzing Champion last year (the UK is a quizzing powerhouse). The guys on the UK show are, in my opinion, one step above Ken, Brad, and James as quizzers, it is literally their entire life.

It just wouldn't be The Chase without The Beast! Any team that beats him will have earned the victory.
Wish I could watch this in the U.K. love the Beasty Boy and he is looking greater than ever since his weight loss.

I've idolized him for so long as a game show & trivia aficionado, whether it's The Chase UK, The Chase US (GSN), or even The Chase Australia. So glad he's on this show again!
Also, I would love to see the American version of Beat The Chasers. That would be so much fun!

and is the second former contestant to do so Look up Darragh Ennis for the first former contestant to become a chaser. I *THINK* his perfect streak is still intact.

I wish I could watch this but I am outside of the US.
I absolutely love this quiz themed game show. The Chase would be great for ABC Daytime. Keep the same music and set but there should be four players and they should use the logo from the British version. In the cash builder segment, each correct answer should be worth $5,000. If a player gets caught by the chaser early in the match, that person should get $1,000 as a consolation prize. If the surviving players get caught in the final chase, they should each get $2,000. I love this quiz game.
I watch the UK version of The Chase as well, and I think they said he has an IQ of 155. I don't think IQ means much, though -- because I've seen him easily beat contestants with IQ's close to his (140+).

The original chaser? I thought that was Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace.
Pretty sure The Beast appeared on the first broadcast episode of The Chase, even if Shaun was also in Series 1.
I checked and he first appearance was the first episode of the entire series
@@happyfat4620 Yeah, He was the chaser on the very first episode back in 2009, Shaun was the first one they hired, Mark was the second if I’m not mistaken, But ITV picked The Beast for that first episode

The American chasers are good quizzers. They have the chops for it. But the Beast has the personality. I've seen the American chasers try to do the nasty zingers, and it just seems forced. They'll grow into the role with practice.
