Dr Roberto Canessa: I Had To Survive | Lorraine

Dr Roberto Canessa made history in December 1972 when he walked out of the Andes after having survived a plane crash and endured months of starvation, injuries, severe cold and an avalanche. He has since written a book called I Had To Survive recounting his time during those months in the mountain when he didn't know if he would live or die - and eventually ended up having to eat his dead friends to survive.
