- PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS ONLY A THEORY, NOT A DEFINITIVE ANSWER! I’ve done more research and I have- gotten a lot of things wrong, and I’m terribly sorry. I will most likely make another theory fixing these mistakes so please forgive me I am trying to do my research it’s just very hard when I don’t know where to look for proof of some things and I just- aaafsgsjssg 😭😭😭
so I know the poll said about “how big is equestria?”, however, I am no mathematician or geophysicist. I don’t do that here. so I’m sorry if the poll may have led you astray. I’m more of the “lore solving” type than anything.
while I may want to try and be the “matpat of mlp”, I feel like @Lerovun is actually more fit into that than I am. and let me tell you, now that the video is finally done I realized I had a big missed opportunity for a collab, so once again I’m deeply sorry. maybe another time when I have something that fits that category and I’m not stupid enough to let that slide off of my head like it did with this video. so I’m reading more into these comments and seeing some things I missed in this theory, so I may redo this theory with the new info I have somewhere down the line. so take most of what I say in this theory with a grain of salt, as it may change again when I get to it.

maybe the forest decay because nature is back in balance before EQUESTRIA just farms and pastures was the size of the forest without a flower-field but when ponies taking control of nature and the weather it grow wide to protect it self and storms start around the crystal empire and before their no deadly storm into ponies take control of nature
We are talking about also a world that had it's sun and moon moved by demigods. It is fully possible that the world has been tilted by Twilight and set on a rotation around the sun so seasons and stuff happen on their own.
With the addition of the Dragonlands i think the original mlp map was rotated a little. Old map's West became the new map's North. If we place Maretime bay at the shore near the deserty area in the south, Zephyr heights at or near Rainbow falls and Bridlewood somewhere in the foresty area next to Applewood then we do end up with a layout where the tree is in the middle of the paths between the 3 areas. Right above the place where Maretime bay would be also happens to be a fairly large river. The only thing that goes against this placement depends on if the invisibubble is a literal sphere or just whatever shape it needs to be to include the three towns. This placement would also explain the tiny seapony drawn below Maretime bay in the g5 map, because Seaquestria would be South West of Maretime bay.
It would also explain the placement of the Dragonlands, which are to the west of Equestion on the G4 map, but southeast on the G5 map

@@MatsuyoRific I'm not sure what you mean. On the G4 map(s) the Dragon Lands are EAST of Equestria and SOUTH of Griffonstone. The only land that we see WEST of Equestria (except for potential arctic lands beyond Yakyakistan) is the region called the Undiscovered West, separating the North Luna Ocean from the South Luna Ocean.

The dragon map Sparky discovered pretty much confirms that Maretime Bay is located in the South-East part of the map. On the East coast of G4 map, in around the place where the red dragon is depicted in the G4 map. Everything point out at the region nearby Horse Shoe Bay and Hayseed Swamps

Not really related to this video, but I have a small simple theory that I don't see a lot of people talking about.
It's about Twilight's "short-lived" rule over Equestria.
If we think back to when Twilight was first made an Alicorn, a lot of people were questioning whether or not Twilight would outlive her friends, to which Megan McCarthy said "No. Twilight will not outlive her friends."
Concidering Twilight's rule seemed short-lived (Celestia ruling for over 1000 years whilst Twilight seemingly did so for just a few hundred) perhaps she really did only live the full expectancy of a natural unicorn? We know Luster Dawn potentially became an Alicorn thanks to Elder Flower's story, so she was basically Twilight's successor to the Equestrian throne.
Twilight will obviously have still been around after Luster Dawn took the throne, likely retiring back to Ponyville to be close to whoever out of the mane 6 remained, so that would explain why Luster came to Twilight about Opaline when she began to attack, rather than Twilight directly dealing with the issue firsthand. Or this all happened whilst Twilight did rule and Luster was an Alicorn at the time but not the ruler of Equestria just yet, and the two of them fought Opaline together before Twilight eventually had to create the Unity Crystals due to the pony races fighting amongst one another once again.
Basically that was just a long winded way of saying that Twilight's rule wasn't necessarily cut short and wasn't a complete failure. She ruled for as long as naturally possible without the true Alicorn "immortality" (hence why she also grew so fast.) Once she became old enough and Luster was ready, she passed over the mantle to Luster Dawn to rule Equestria and retired with her elderly friends. She lived as long as any normal pony would and her rule was obviously successful (with her cutie mark basically being everywhere.)
That begs the question though, where was the love for Luster Dawn's rule? Well, Opaline's attack directly effected the separation of the ponies (from what I believe) and therefore, once the segregation happened, there was no need for an Alicorn ruler. Luster Dawn was all but forgotten about or better yet, distrusted. She was the forgotten ruler, or the last of the Equestrian ruling Alicorns.
Yes, she did go to Twilight for help and in turn the invisibubble was created. The comics stated that the creation of the Unity Crystals settled everypony for a time before eventually being seperated, so the separation likely happened after Twilight retired or even passed away. But all of this did effect Luster's rule so much so there's hardly anything but cryptic stories about her own rule.
I understand this comment is all sorts of confusing or messed up though. I will have definitely missed something or messed up somewhere that makes this theory nul and void, but I guess it's my own headcanon 😅
I love this so much, it would also make sense that maybe then due to distrust from other pony races that all the alicorns (celestia and Luna included) would have ran away from opaline, but then why didn’t celestia and Luna defeat opaline? Did she steal their magic from them in the first place leaving them incapacitated to some extent?
I still don’t understand where the princesses went! Like shouldn’t they be around? Are there some ponies that stayed behind or fled to another area that our g5 ponies don’t know about yet? I just want a whole story written out about it all!
It's worth noting that the Kirin Grove is on the same landmass as the Dragon Lands in the MLP movie map, south of Dragons' Lair. And the Dragon Lands COULD be a large island on the old maps, separate from the continent that is home to Griffonstone (it's ambiguous). Kirin Grove does not seem to be the Kirin village that we saw in the show.
I have a theory that some might hate. So what if the world of Gen 5 takes place in another alternate timeline or universe, the landscape could be very different from that of Gen 4. Or perhaps over the years chunks of land began to fall into the ocean and new landmasses could have formed. That could explain why the bubble only grew that big.
I personally thought that Maretime Bay is Horseshoe Bay, I personally thought that would make sense myself especially when I went on a Wikipedia regarding where the location is. granted it's very rare that the Wikipedia is right but I would like to have a little bit of confidence that it is correct about this location, but regardless if that theory or even the theory that you put out is wrong it's still very curious and interesting.🤔🤨😑😔😅

Loved the video! I do think theres no way the Bubble covers the entirety of what we used to know as Equestria. I'm fairly certain Opaline lives in what used to be Celestia's and Luna's castle in Canterlot. If that is true, the bubble didn’t even reach Canterlot. But we know the Bubble definitely covered what used to be Ponyville, because thats where the Treehouse of Harmony was.
That being said, I think Bridlewood is the Everfree Forest 100%. With the Treehouse of Harmony being so close, it would make sense that the Everfree Forest just spread out after Pony Magic was no longer controlling the ecosystem. That would also explain the weird things like the glowing crystals, the magic Spog (Everfree had a bog), and the different potentially dangerous creatures and magical plants that they find there (Troggles, the Flower that smells like whatever your favorite thing is). And that would make sense as to why the Forest sentiently responds to Pipp replanting the flowers by giving her a bunch of petals. Thats very Everfree Forest-y.
Assuming Equestria didn't get Beleriand'ed between G4 and G5...
The ANG-in-movie map shows that Maritime Bay is on the East coast just south of a major promontory/cape which by the G4 canon map either implies just south of Baltimare or just south of Manehatten. The east coast location is supported by the opening grown-up Sunny scenes which presumably take place in the morning (7AM alarm...) where shadows are cast on the inland side of objects (i.e. sun to seaward side) while later scenes during Izzy's arrival have shadows on the seaward side of objects (i.e. sun to the landward side). So we can conclude that as far as ANG is concerned Maritime Bay is on the east coast of Equestrian.
However, MYM Nightmare on Mane Street is a bit of a mess with shadows in the opening scene being cast inland (i.e. sun out to sea) while shadows in later scenes are being cast out to sea (i.e. sun inland), in both cases with twilight type lighting implying either early morning of during the evening. Of cause, maybe Hitch held the town meeting at 6AM and then the episode skips most of the day...
ANG implies that the three G5 cities are within a few days walk of each other (during the Izzy and Sunny in transit montage we get one cut back to Maritime Bay at night and later we see the Mane 5 leave Zephyr Heights during the night, spend a day in transit, camp and then arrive in Bridlewood) with MYM and TYT suggesting an even shorter distance (e.g. the levle of concern for Izzy going AWOL in MYM Izzy Does It looks consistent with a few hours to maybe a day out of contact, while MYM Bridlewoodstock shows Sunny making what looks like rapid transit via rollerskate between Maritime Bay and Bridlewood).
Dreeze's proposal requires transit distances which in G4 were covered by rail (e.g.G4 Rarity Takes Manehatten showed the Mane 6 using a train to go from Ponyville to Manehatten)... This is, surprisingly, less contradictory with the ANG distances than I'd first thought (looking at 1870s train vs carriage transit times for a 250km-ish distance, and it's 7 hr vs 14 hr non-stop, so, day and a bit at a more practical pace) but still feels like a bit of a long shot...
G4 season 4&7&9 show the everfree out of control.
In the season 4 premiere of g4 the everfree did take over ponyville however I think discord only speed up the time. Hence the name plunder seeds. Plunder is commonly use by pirates which means to steal. Discord said this: “the plunder seeds were supposed to drain( steal) the magic from the tree but it’s magic was too strong.” In the season 7 finale of g4 it was hinted at the tree was to protect the magic
I had that same idea about the everfree forest's magic expanding being the reason the weather controls itself. Cool!

I'm so happy that someone is going G5 lore stuff, I theorize about this show way more than anyone really should and it's nice to be able to see a different perspective on things.
The map is a issue as well as the fact that 99% of all sentinent live is simply gone. Big massiv citys are conpletly empty but banners are still hanging. The only areas where that did not happen is where there was either an area with an anti magic bubble or were not accessable through normal ways.
Opaline’s castle looks like it is in the same location as Cantorlot and that the other locations are much closer together and the dragon lands or the isle of scaly is literally an island now and who would’ve guessed at this point anything now is basically just the fans and other people guessing and creating theories and Hasbro might never make gen5 as good as everyone hoped it would be.
I REALLY hope the next season of Make your mark or Tell your tale CLARIFY ATLEAST the locations,like a reveal of the whole equestrian current map,revealing the other species whereabouts or anything like that like PLEASE

This is a very well-done video. The world is way too small in Gen 5 which I am sad about it's like the writer forgot about so many places. I rather tend to believe that Maretime Bay is actually Baltimare, and Zephyr Heights and Bridlewood are just mountains and woods located near it. The new Tree of Harmony may be grown in place of the crystal palace which was destroyed by time, and then teleported to the east of Equestria. Opaline's castle is located somewhere to the west, and Dragonlands are just an island in the eastern sea.
That's what I believe as well, I theorize that twilight sent everypony to the east coast of equestria to hide magic from opaline, including dragon Magic.🙂
I think the only thing that makes sense is that this is an alternate world with wholly different geography to the Equestria of G4. Maybe it's one of the myriad mirror worlds from the comics. It is literally impossible to square the G4 Equestria map with the locations in G5, though not for any lack of trying on your part. It seems clear to me that whoever designed the geography of the world of G5 never looked at a map of G4 Equestria, nor was there ever any attempt to maintain geographical continuity between them.
I like this theory and all, but i would have to disagree on the locations, and i certainly dont think equestria split in two, there was never a flood of water in the first place. Ive actually figured out where these locations acually are, many people speculate Zephyr heights was once canterlot, it is north of maritime bay that part is true but i believe Zephyr heights is on top of starlight moutains and over time it evolved, and turned orange. Now bridlewood on the other hoof took over more of hollow shades cause its a good sized forest area, and i dont think bridlewood took over ponyville that makes no sense. Maritime bay is not by gasley gorge its actually on the east shoreline of equestria below Manehatten. Now what about opalines castle? Opalines castle appears to be on an edge, below is a riverstream its definitely not on top of the smokey moutains i put opalines castle in two possible locations on the two small moutains left of horesbay, or on the edge of canterlot. Opaline probably destroyed most of canterlot, and conquerd it over the years.
Chapter: The Isle of Scaly and the Tree of Harmony
The Marestream, a shimmering current of magic, carried Sunny and her friends toward the Isle of Scaly. Its waters whispered secrets of forgotten realms, and the sun danced upon its ripples. As their boat glided, they glimpsed ancient ruins peeking through the emerald foliage.
The Isle of Scaly:
The air smelled of moss and adventure. The isle was a mosaic of cliffs, caves, and crystal-clear pools. Each step revealed petroglyphs etched by hooves long gone.
Sunny marveled at the Scaly Spires, jagged peaks that seemed to touch the sky. Their scales shimmered like opals, and legends whispered of dragons who once nested there.
The Alicorn Land:
Beyond the isle, a celestial curtain beckoned-a place where alicorns roamed. Their wings carried stardust, and their manes held constellations.
Sunny glimpsed Prism Peaks, where Luna painted the night sky. And there, Celestia’s Crest, where the sun kissed the horizon.
The Friendship Journal:
Amidst ancient stones, they found a weathered tome-the Friendship Journal. Its pages bore ink from laughter, tears, and shared dreams.
Sunny traced her hoof over Twilight’s words: “Friendship is magic. It binds worlds and transcends time.”
Zipp giggled, reading Pinkie’s recipe for “Laughter Cake”-a dash of giggles, a sprinkle of confetti.
Twilight’s Revelation:
The journal led them to Twilight Sparkle, who sat beneath the Tree of Harmony. Its roots pulsed with memories, and its leaves whispered forgotten spells.
“Welcome,” Twilight said, her eyes galaxies. “Equestria’s past lies woven here-the threads of harmony.”
She recounted tales: Discord’s Redemption, Nightmare Moon’s Eclipse, and the Elements of Harmony uniting against chaos.
The Transformed Tree:
The once-glowing tree had changed. Its bark now bore etchings-a tapestry of friendship. Each carving represented a pony’s courage, sacrifice, or laughter.
Sunny pressed her hoof against the trunk. “What shall we call it?”
Izzy grinned. “The Friendship Nexus-where past and present embrace.”
And so, beneath the boughs of the Friendship Nexus, Sunny and her friends vowed to make their mark. They’d write their stories, paint their constellations, and honor the legacy of Equestria. For in every hoofprint, the universe whispered, “You matter.” 🌟🌿📜

I imagine that the Crystal Empire is still around under the rule of Flurry Heart and that it’s protected from Opaline by the Crystal Heart, making the bubble unnecessary in the north. It’s possible the Crystal Heart was extended to help the bordering Yaks as well.
In MYM we have not seen that tree again and I think the other theory fits more, that it is near the Horseshoe Bay, by the factor that the land of dragons is closer
That is, here the problem is not knowing how to locate 2 things, the water and the land of the dragons, in the other theory the only thing that does not fit is the tree (which we do not know if it will appear again)
Maybe then we had to see in chapter 6 if a new location appears and where Wednesday could be, so we will have to wait for them to make us more confused xD
Fun fact:
G5 dragon lands is a different one from the dragon lands we know

so apparently there are more dragon lands than we thought dear God help us all because that is going to make things more complicated
I know this is a theory, but Equestria did NOT split in two. They just migrated down to the south coast, where the entire generation took place, and the rest fell into despair. It’s like the rest of Equestria was gone. And I DO mean for good.

opaline's castle and Dragon Lands actually shorten our bubble a lot. initially, i thought that the castle could be canterlot, especially with the placement but there is no water and if the designs are accurate there should be more mountains, the only water source in the g4 equestrian map aside from Canterlot is neighara falls, leaving only one place where Opaline's castle could be located, foal mountains. We know where dragon lands are and if we place the g5 map on top of the g4 map such that they align together, with the coast facing the dragon lands, we would get maretimebay somewhere around the eastern coasts of g4 map and honestly speaking, my best bet for Mare-time bay's location is somewhere between baltimare and filly delphia. Even the name Mare time bay kinda matches with Baltimare but it does make a lot of sense, with the borders and water and all. We know that bridlewood is kinda above to the right of maretime bay, this could VERY WELL be the Hollow shades, which again makes a lot of sense. Now we just have zephyr heights to locate. it is to the right of mare time bay, and i do not exactly know where to put it but my best guess is it's the mountain where starlight hid the cutiemarks. I initially thought of it being manehatten but after looking at the map for a good while, manehatten is definitely the little island just beside the shore of maritime bay.
from this assumption, we can conclude that:
maritime bay is actually baltimare and filly delphia
Bridle wood is 100% Hollow shades
zephyr heights is made above the clouds of the snowy mountain and the rainbow falls?? (is that what that place is? idr) and somewhat has a culture influence from the manehatten
Opalin's castle is located on the foal mountains.

not in reference to this Hypothesis, but..... something i realized while watching an episode of G4. Opaline's spell to take cutie marks and stick them to things is nearly the exact same as the one Starlight used in her village. I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether it was an alicorn spell that was either stolen from the castle or is Starlight had some how found alicorn magic. also how does Opaline know it or has she always known it. Did she teach Starlight or vice versa? im just curious
Maybe the other pony towns were abandoned when the ponies split like Canterlot was shown to be abandoned in the Discord comic?
I think that the castle was originally Cantorlot and that the Bridle Wood is just the everfree forest and the magic was brought to the rest of the land
U got the first part right Opalines castle was once Canterlot at one point in history, and we can see her conquering canterlot in the flashback story. 2nd of all I would have to disagree on the location for bridlewood, and I certainly dont think bridlewood was once the everfree forest, If it was then we would see more bizarre creatures like the Timberwolves, or cacatrice. I put bridlewood where hollow shades is because it's home to the breezes, and we barley got to see the forest in g4. And as for the everfree forest, if u remember, or watched The Lone alicorn, opaline had burned done the forest, and rebuild the castle of the two sisters, and later on it became her second home.

actually you could be right about it getting a little bit of ponyville because No one notices this but Izzy's Treehouse in the movie looks like twilights old library from ponyville and it looked to be a little ways before the town so just a theory there
The Golden Oak library was completely destroyed though, it couldn't have regrown. The Mane 6 hung its roots as a chandelier in Twilight's castle.
If no one is controlling the moon (and therefore tides) and weather I feel there’s a real possibility the landscape was drastically changed when magic was taken away 🤷♀️

How can that be the Tree of Harmony? The tree was in the center of the Everfree forest! How does a forest turn into an empty field in 200 or so years? Especially one that specifically counters any attempts to contain or control it?
It could be nasrd on the most southern part of this landmass and the dome may only block/traps the evil alicorn away from the others and in stopping any pony's knowledge of other races in world to

i wonder where they will take the story of g5. im starting to think that they dont care anymore, about the orginal mlp fandom that want to watch the series, to see the comeback of the original characters. they are just focusing about entretain the kids that are watching the series. for them the plot doesnt needs to have connections between each other (my opinion btw) and that probably, the content we're expected to see, is getting forgotten and fading away

I don’t understand why G5 is still bringing in G4 lore. The bronies have turned on G5 for one reason or another (3D animation, pop songs, bad writing, grew out of it, etc.) and it isn’t even drumming up hype via the analysts on CZcams like I imagine Hasbro hopes it will. All it’s doing is infuriating the viewers that the show did manage to pull in or keep from G4 because it’s being handled so poorly.
