    Excellent review, lots of facts, honest opinions and no gushing. I'm going to the NEC this month to have a good look at this bike, I am also sure my local dealer will have a demo bike in ASAP. I'll not be getting rid of my 650 L4 any time soon, but a bit more power and a slightly bigger engine might be a nice addition to the garage.

    Liking this...went from a Tracer 900 to a Tracer 700(which is great around Argyll and the lower Highlands-all you need),this is probably the happy medium? Good thing with the DE out first,plenty add ons are available, a nice pair of gold hubs with blue,wire spoke rims would look great on that, especally for Norway/Sweden/Finland with unmetalled roads...on the list to see at the NEC.
    P.S; Great area that...i've got a wee village there i hide the truck in,on my 45hrs off,been back down on the bike,great roads/scenery!

    Suzuki V strom is a bit like Toyota Corolla, or Landcruiser
    (6 cylinder). Dont do anything amazing, but so reliable, dependable and just get the job done. I agree with calling this new bike somwthing different. Especially seeing as its not a V engine.
    Still... I'm keen as ride one. And as much as I loke the new 8S for looks and nakedness, the V strom would be more useful all round.

    I dunno but I think vstrom is right now hot topic anywhere you look I see more ppl on them and I got myself one too I just wish that they have RE/ that DE will be more dualsport like dual hight foot brake. Clutch and brake leaver adjustable and anti crash ones gear shifter leaver more aggressive for off-road and proper off road 50/50 tires this bike is already great as vanilla but I could be better with small adds on and no I don't care for cruise control and I'm happy it have tubes ppl who never go down 15 psi should not bother with off-road bikes at all imo.

      it's an easy add on though when the bikes ride by wire, they should fit it as standard, great to rest the grip on long rides. If you don't need it don't use it but it should at least be an option, it's a no brainer nowadays.

The DR feels like a bicycle in comparison, and maybe I'm a bad rider, but the DR is my weapon of choice for anything more difficult than a dirt road. What is Suzuki doing with this bike? Most people who buy adventure bikes, primarily use them for touring/long journeys etc. Now for me there are 2 major issues with this model, firstly, there's no cruise control. The biggest glaring issue is that. With that big 20 litre tank, you're going to be able to do some long mileage with it. Yet without cruise control, that's really missing the mark here. Secondly, not much of a deal breaker, but no phone connectivity, USB charging, maps etc is yet another big flaw for this tourer. It doesn't matter how good the ride, the comfort, design or price, there are more tech supported bikes out there that I for one, would have on my must have options be paid extras or not.

    • @AdamForeman
      @AdamForeman Před 8 měsíci

      @@williamrae9954 you're missing the point, this bike is a middleweight adventure bike. People looking for 1200-1300cc based tourer won't be looking at this. More importantly, cost. The new BMW F 800 GS is a more direct comparison come 2024. That is more likely to be the king of middleweight bikes.
