  • Had a nice Sunday out, went sightseeing around Oslo a bit and then I headed over to the Vaterland Record Fair. Got some nice vinyl.

Nice outdoor record fair. We have flea markets that do that. Maybe you should get a hold of Badly Drawn Boy and tell them you could make them a nice drawing of the boy. I think they would appreciate that Morten

Ha ha, maybe I should get hold of him (Damon Michael Gough). I’d love to have done someones album cover 😊

Loved the fjord-side tour! That looked like a very nice spot to spend a warm day 🙂 Unforgettable Fire was the first U2 album that I ever bought. I love White Lion! They kind of get disrespected a little, but I really dig them. Anyway, super finds! Thanks for sharing!

Glad you enjoyed the tour Dave 😊 My very first U2 was actually not an album but a Maxi Singel of New Years Day, that I still have! Then I got what is probably still my favorite, October, on cassette. Looking forward to spinning them all 😊 Thanks for watching Dave!

Thanks for the mini tour! Some nice finds, too. Congratulations on surpassing 500 subscribers! I have a feeling you'll have lots more before this is all over!

That sounded ominous 😳 Thank you Mark.

Looks like a pretty nice place. Nice Triumph record; I guess you can pick up an upgrade copy later on if you like it. There was a Tigertailz record in there too - fun glam metal. White Lion was a pretty good melodic hard rock band. Definitely worth picking up.

Tak Kim 😊 Tigertailz eh? Notérer 😊

Great sculptures Morten. I saw U2 when they released their first album l wasn't impressed. I may have to give them another chance.

Thank you Mike. Hope you enjoyed a bit of Oslo sightseeing 😊 Did you see them all the way back to the Boy days? Wow, bit of history there 😲

Nice haul Morten. Looks like a fair fair...provided there was no fare 🤭😉. I saw a few Canadian lp's there, April Wine, Prism, amd of course you got the Triumph lp. That one is often considered "the one" of Triumph to own if one was just to own one...but I like all, at least up to 1986 release The Sport Of Kings. I saw a few there I've been on the look out for on vinyl. I have the first White Lion. Decent spin. Vitto is a great guitarist! I miss crate digging. Maybe soon. Busy weekends with grandkids. Anyway. Love the cartoon drawing too man. Cool! Enjoyed watching Morten. Enjoy the spinning my friend. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘

Thanks Mark! I’ve seen that record behind you on the wall and thought, «can I in good conscience pass that by?!?» April Wine, Prism… noted 😊 Thank you for the nice comment about my drawing 😊

Nice footage Morten. I had to laugh when I saw that Triumph in the flip, and then it turns out you actually picked it up. You can tell a Canadian because they will be wearing a Canadian tuxedo. Jeans and a denim jacket. Enjoy the warm weather. Congrats on hitting 500. Cheers.

Thank you Jack! Ha ha, that «…you can tell a Canadian…» comment made me laugh 😄
Thank you very much. Maybe I have a contest type video soon, said the procrastinator 😄

Nice finds and not bad prices. Finally short glimpse of Finland with Hanoi Rocks in the crate. By the way, do you have finnish bands in your collection?

    • @MortenAastad
      @MortenAastad  Před 3 měsíci +1

I don’ think I do. Both times I’ve been to Finland I was hunting craft beers in Helsinki and Tampere. I did buy a CD by an Estonian pop band when I was in Tallinn but mostly because the record shop was next to Brew Dog.

@@MortenAastad Ok. I was thinking that we could do collaboration video like I show Norwegian records & you comment those and same with Finnish records... You need to get some Finnish records first. Lol. Let's see if I could help with this "problem".

@@MortenAastad Don't worry. I guess that our tastes are quite different, that could end to something fun... I have lately listened Sista Dagers Helvete, that is 1st norwegian band I have heard in mid 80s... Planning to find their only LP or reissue comp.

@@TommysVinylnaut That would be fun! Never even heard of Siste Dagers Helvete? A lot of the hardcore punk scene in Oslo were and are connected to Blitz, a squatters house I’m not, and have never been very sympatico with, not least politcally, so that is probably why I’ve never gravitated towards that Norwegian musical genre. I like noisy garage style music, but perhaps more in the way Pavement does it, or the Riot Grrrls and less in the, lets say Bad Brains way? Terrible explaining I’m sure 😄
