- In 1992, the Marine Science Research Center at Stony Brook University commissioned John J. Stevens to create a series of videos on the Science of Long Island Sound. Program #1 shows the geography of Long Island Sound (as well as Long Island) and its surrounding coast line/ shore line. The scientists at the Research Center have investigated the contour and composition of the bottom of Long Island Sound. Geologists explain starting with the Continental Drift 200 million years ago, how Long Island Sound was originally formed 50 million years ago, and how it has been changed to the present form
I grew up in Stonybrook West meadow beach...
USB saved my life twice.
I Love Long Island NY.
Very interesting. I learned a lot by watching this.
Good documentary
Love it thank you 🌊🌊🌊
@13:40 - The Hempstead Sill is not shown in the correct position. It's true location is significantly farther to the west - about where the Oyster Bay - Rye Bridge was supposed to go. You are showing it as Asharoken to Norwalk.
Compared to present day drone photography this film seems ancient.
Thank you for watching! It is 32 years old...
😅🦖🦕 dinosaours lived from 165 to 65 million years ago. Those exposes ricks in Connecticut predated the 🦕🦖 s.
