I wish you did more than one video a week. You are my favorite homesteading channel. I look forward to Sunday's. ❤️
I watch a few homesteading videos, and by far you are my favorite! Look forward to your videos every week 😊👍
I strongly agree !!! Love you and your channei !! Look so forward to Sunday mornings !
You are an amazing Mom! Not many women can plan their daily meals around a family member who has the potential to perish due to a food allergy! Kudos to you and I pray your family always appreciates your efforts! Your husband is a lucky man! 😊
I look forward to Sunday mornings for your video release! Thank you and hope you and the family are well! ❤️
My dad (who grew up in the depression) didn’t cook very often did make good gravy, he only used water or broth. NEVER MILK OR CREAM! He called it “poor man’s gravy”. I remember being little (maybe 5 years old) being VERY EXCITED that he was cooking (because I KNEW HE was making gravy) and asking him if we were getting “DEAD MAN’S gravy”. He laughed and said Yes! We ARE getting dead man’s gravy! Don’t have a lot of memories as a child, but that stuck with me.
Looks like a lot of yummy goodness to me. I've been doing this challenge along with everyone, as I did last year, and we're doing pretty well. For me, by doing this challenge, I am able to take part of the money that is "saved' and relocate it to building up non edible needs around the house, pay extra on some bills, and/or get some things e need/want ourselves. We're going to try to make it through March this year, just like we did last year. THEN, I'm pretty sure our freezers will be empty of fruits, veggies, and meats and we'll restock as the sales hit throughout the year and as we get fresh garden stuff....then start over next Jan.
I love seeing any version of bread pudding! It reminds me of my youngest child (now early 30’s). His favorite meal was French toast. But he absolutely turned his nose up at the mention of bread pudding. But when I called it “oven French toast” he ate it like a starving pauper.
❤ahh. Memories.
Don’t blink, young moms!
The days are long but the years are short!
My daughter was eating spaghetti and I didn't blend the carrots well enough she was like MOM THERE'S CARROTS IN THE SPAGHETTI !!! I was like sssh your brother doesn't know that ! 😂😂😂
When your children say they love the homemade version better, you have done something right! Hannah is not going to go hungry even if she has to numb her way through the food 😊.
Really like the fact that your children so often get to choose their preferences of foods at meal times. While there certainly is a place for "this is what's for dinner", and trying out new foods as they grow, keeping meal times enjoyable for everyone as much as possible like you do is so lovely to see❤
I love how you use up your leftovers so that you’re not wasteful. It’s pleasing to see this in this day and age. Bless you and your family.
Jessica, thank you for typing out all the recipes for us. I appreciate all the work you do to share your knowledge with us. ❤
You’ve inspired us to do a mini pantry challenge here this weekend thanks to a cold snap. No one really wants to leave the house, so I’ve been raiding the freezer and pantry in the spirit of the Three Rivers Challenge. Thankfully there are only three of us. 😆 Friday night, I threw together a tortellini soup with some beef tortellini, pork sausage patties, a bag of kale that was in its last legs (when I realized we were out of frozen spinach), and the last two bags of garden tomatoes from our 2022 garden out of the freezer. Added some onion powder and garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and beef broth, and ended up with a soup the whole family loved. It was great with some garlic cheese Texas toast we forgot in the freezer. We’ve got a ton left, so we might add some cream to the soup tonight to make it stretch a bit further and try a creamier base with it this time to see which way we like it best.
Last night, my husband scrounged up some pork roll hot dogs from the freezer, a forgotten pack of hot dog rolls, and half a bag of tots languishing in the back of the freezer to finish off with some random veggie bits and cold salads that needed clearing out of the fridge. Ordinarily, we might have just ordered in Chinese and thrown away the ends of those few scattered bits of veggies and salads. But it was great to find a use for them and make some room in the freezer, too. 😊
Then, that soup stretched so far, it’s been keeping us in lunches with some homemade flatbread pizza, too. (My husband often buys pizza dough to make breadsticks and loses a ball of dough in the fridge occasionally, so we round the lost ones up and make personal pizzas once a week or so, too.)
You are a busy woman! Thank you for taking the time to video these meals…I salute you
We raised our 5 children who are now 42 to 51 years of age, and I am still trying to make meals for just the 2 of us. I have yet to master that, so there are lots of leftovers. You amaze me. God bless. ❤😊
U absolutely can make yeast. All u need is a few tablespoons to make more dry yeast powder. I cant remember the recipe off the top of my head but u bloom and reproduce it with flour i think then dehydrate or freeze dry it. Easily googled.
I think if you put out a video every day I would still not lose interest! Love your channel so much
Your kids are so blessed to be growing up with your cooking and good nutrition! You are setting them up for healthy lives which is invaluable.
Happy Sunday Everyone!! Watching Hannah's Face when that spoon kept passing her lips🤣 Too Funny.. I've seen other reels with parents doing the babies like that to see the reaction always hilarious 🤣 Great ideas Jessica.. I made Italian Garlic bread from scratch this week 🙌🏽 Something I've been wanting to do but scared at the same time .. After church I plan to can some chicken soup bases 🙌🏽 As always Much Love From OKC ❤
😍 It KILLED me seeing your little one open her mouth for each spoonful. SO precious.
Good Morning, Jessica! I made your hamburger buns last week but mixed the flours with wheat, spelt and regular bread flour. They were wonderful. I do a lot of pulled chicken and Turkey as my husband has an allergy to beef, pork and lamb from a tick bite! I also made raspberry jam yesterday, removed most of the seeds and saved them, put them in a pot with water, cooked them on low for awhile, and used the liquid, warmed it, added tea bags and made raspberry tea so nothing was wasted. God Bless you all!
You are incredibly amazing. Such a good stewart of what God has blessed you with. Bravo momma!~
I LOVE that your using failed apple jelly in baking recipes and not just using it as apple syrup for your waffles. I've been watching your videos all month and I'm totally impressed that you're winging it with so many dishes and your children seem to Love everything you make.
Jessica, you are such an inspiration to me! I've been using up stuff from the freezers and pantries. I have stuff upstairs and basement. Once I made some space I could move things around and found things I had forgotten were in there! I've been slowly watching your older videos and timing was great for me. Saw your video from 3 years ago about preserving your butternut squash and garlic and that's exactly what I have planned for today! And the one with Adam starting off the new year where you couldn't stop laughing at the end! Back then you had 6K subscribers, ha ha! I feel like I should wish you Happy Birthday again, lol. Got some new ideas from you again with your wonderful recipes and substitutions this week. Thank you for your great videos.
LOVE your laid back way dear. You and Jess cover my weekends and Meg n Ben are all week Just recently found Little Mountain Ranch … my now 4 only ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I had to downsub.. and kept only the ones that don’t talk at ya like it’s a cooking show. 😄😄. Hannah has grown so fast. Whoa!! She’s beautiful Jessica - all your children are. My children have grown up but I have lots of fur babies-, hens , goats, bees 1st full year and this year I’m hoping a cow Lord Willing. 🙏
Jessica next time you are cooking savoury food in your oven on put a tray of onions still with their skin on & place in the bottom, they are delicious baked and can be sliced & added to so many dishes. I personally love them chopped up with cooked eggs as a savoury filling or added to salads or bread.
Using leftover waffles 🧇 n breakfast casserole, genius!
Thank you for these videos. It is how I start my day and gives me the motivation and discipline to do the same things in my home.
I hope your family know how blessed they are for having you cooking all these meals everyday! You're an inspiration to so many of us! ❤
Thank you SO much for making videos like this. As a young mom with a husband who can't have gluten and a son who can't have dairy or peanuts (similar to your oldest), this channel has been such an encouragement to me!! I am amazed each video at your wealth of knowledge and ideas! ❤
I love using up leftovers and you always seem to come up with something that is new to me. These videos are certainly a happy place to learn new things, full of positive fun ideas!
For me, living alone, I'm trying to work.on emptying my freezer and pantry. I only buy the minimum at the grocery store. I think if I work.on it for a couple of months, it'll make a big difference. ❤
Jessica you are the most creative cook I have watched. You have a great channel and offer us so much. Thank you!
I enjoy a cup of coffee every Sunday morning watching your channel. You and mountain ranch are my two favorite homesteading channels. Thank you for all your hard work teaching everyone new homesteading.
Hi Jessica! I love watching your channel! A really easy way to make fishsticks is to bread them in arrowroot with whatever seasoning you'd like. I use sea salt, paprika and onion powder. You don't even need to use eggs then, which is how my daughter prefers them. They are very lightly coated in the arrowroot and fried and are really tasty. Just an idea!
Awesome meal planning. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Good afternoon my dear friend, another great video of what you ate!! You are such an inspiration to all, and a clever cook to use what you have!! I always look forward to Sundays with you, have a blessed week!!!
I love how your kids nod their heads when they taste food. It's so cute.
🎉 another successful pantry challenge week!!
My stepdad when i was younger used to make us rice that was half white rice and half wild rice!
I love your Longaberger recipe basket!
I made long grain and wild rice cooked in chicken broth and added dried cranberries and pine nuts. It was really good. Just throwing that out there as an idea for the wild rice.
That beautiful baby sure was enjoying her delicious waffle 🩷
I save my Salomon cans for camping glasses and seed starters. I find that I don't have transplant but into the garden.
You are a voice I can listen to all day long. You are so amazing in every thing you . I have decided to start my own channel would you be willing to help me grow. Heavenly Homesteaders. Thank you for your time
Good morning 🙏😊. I do love your Sunday morning videos! I always learn something from you and was reminded by your bands on the cups of when my children were young and I used Tupperware cups with lids and write their names on them ! I even had their friends names on some of the lids for when they were there. It sure does save on dishes!
Have a blessed week and thank you again for the pantry challenge!
🙏😊
Thank you for the homemade fish sticks. Love that.
Wild rice is lovely in a creamy chicken soup!
What a great week of creative meals!
Love all your healthy creative meals!
Love my Sunday nights with you. Have a blessed week. ❤
Those who’ve never had the luxury of canned beef chunks don’t know what they’re missing! My parents & their siblings always did this together. I ❤️❤️ it!
Everything you make looks delicious! It is a gift to be so creative. What a blessing for all of you! Always fun to see what you create. I am particpating in your challenge, but on a very small scale as there are only two of us now. No matter how small, this challenge is a wonderful motivator to use up things before they go bad. Being creative with how things are used is a lot of fun too. Thanks for all the ideas you share with us. I always look forward to your videos! Blesssings! 💙💙💙
Such delicious food! Ty!
I always enjoy your videos on Sundays. I know your older son likes to bake. Do your other kids like to cook? I am so glad your kids don't have cell phones. The only computer they use is for school. Your kids do chores which is good
love the snow angels
The soup looks really good!
Amazing meals, love these challenges!
Brilliant!
Thank you for a wonderful video!!
You inspire me, Jessica! I love your videos. ❤
Love your meals Jessica! You always inspire me! Val C ❤️🙏🏻
I put up enough for myself for the winter and I haven't left home and gone shopping since way before Christmas I'm only using what I have in the pantry
I love your pantry challenges! Gives me so many ideas to be less wasteful!
Funny what you learn about yourself or are at least forced to face during a focused period like the pantry challenge. For instance, I have a condiment problem. That is, I really never meant one I didn't like so am prone to buy them but often don't make a plan to use them or to use them more than once. Sauces, dressings, etc. I'm an equal opportunity waster! I also have an "herbs and spices" cupboard that is a mess! I came up with an idea on how to improve that and will let you know how it works.
Thank you for taking the time to include your recipes! ❤
We put a little bit of maple syrup over a salmon patties. Yum
Merci Madame !

My mum is lactose intolerant which started when she got 85. Today, for her 88 birthday I baked her your apple loaf. She is so happy 😊 Loves cakes 😊

Food looked so good.
The bread pudding idea is brilliant! Thanks for sharing. ❤
I thoroughly enjoy your channel. I see in you an excellent example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Thank you for sharing all you do with us your viewers.
I agree about the pear sauce. It is a level up from applesauce! I made it for the first time last week after getting a deal from my Azure driver on a produce box of pears he was trying to unload. (They were past peak ripeness.) $10 for a whole box. What a unexpected blessing. And I made juice with scraps. Two products for one very low price. (7 pints of sauce and 4+ quarts of juice)
I always look forward to watching your Sunday morning videos. And especially love seeing your meal creations, your sweet family and the animals. Thank you for your inspiration and motivation to use up what we have💗
Love your videos, keep em coming
