Two of the best, that's for sure, and the perfect song for them to do their thing. I'm really impressed with the way Eric's vocals have grown. He seems more confident at the mike than he used to be.
Eric is killing it as always, but Landau was playing in a Hendrix way that I do not think I have ever heard anyone quite pull off before. It was quoting Hendrix's playing from the long version of Voodo Child with those electrifying bends and vibrato that was so right on, yet modernized. As a Hendrix fan, this was a joy to watch!!
I hung around Landau many times..I have heard him say. I play Hendrix better then Hendrix.. of course he was lit! But the guy isn't telling stories One bad dude
Unfortunately the audio here doesn't do justice to what Landau does with Hendrix...I know him and have seen him many times in L.A. over the past 15 years at The Baked Potato which has excellent sound...Mike frequently does "Up From The Skies" in his live sets, and knows how to produce and use what Hendrix sounded like better than anyone I've ever heard. He also has the technique to pull off almost anything he chooses to go after, and understands how to use feedback, slurs, whammy bars and other effects seamlessly in performance.
Great middle jam solos but the clean chording stuff Johnson throws in just sounds out of place in this rip snorting track. Carlock is just KILLING IT!!
NOBODY better than Mike!

Drummers are going to easily recognize Keith Carlock by his style/attack!
Holy Shit! They brought it!
Roscoe Beck, Keith Carlock...WOW!
Man, these two guys really sound great together! My favorite EJ collaboration so far! 😎

So good! Nice video
Holy molly.. just insane!!
Monster Version
What is EJ using for his dirty rhythm tone? Looks like a 3rd Fender?
Two rock amp for dirty rhythm
@@sergioleal2738 Look again, no Two-Rock for this tour.
Kinda sad, they arent giving Landau any room to actually play.

Kinda sad, for many reasons. This is all but unlistenable if one has really heard the untouchable genius of Jimi Hendrix. Bar band bad.
You have got to be fuckin kidding.
@@dannycostello3129 My thought exactly, this performance is incredible!
EJ plays the best Hendrix covers. 1988 Austin city limits- are you experienced? 👌👌
really?,REALLY!?!?,just curious,do you play;music,that is?
