    It's so gross to see people who built nothing feel entitled to everything, while degrading those who did built it.
    Also, hilarious to see the last idiot either ignore, or not know, that Congress already has representation based on state population, it's the House of Representatives. It's why California has 53 congressmen, while Alaska has 1. The Senate represents the interests of the State, and all states are considered equal in the Union. That's why every state has the same number of Senators. This is basic elementary school civics.

    • @imkluu
      @imkluu Před rokem +6

      That is what he said, the states already have population representation with the House, and so the senators should be reverted to being the representatives of the state itself, and not the population, so not be a population elected office, but a state appointed one. The reason it was changed was because there was a lot of corruption in the process with people buying the Senator's seat, etc... so it should have been regulated to avoid or stop this rather than take away its actual meaning as the State's representative not the peoples.

      You mean the number of terms one can sit for? I don't see that being very logical. You would basically guarantee that good politicians get kicked out after a set period and newer greener ones will replace them without being able to do the equivalent job. As it is now, the politicians the people want are the ones that are in office. You want a politician out, get the votes. As for judges, that violates the whole balance between legislative and judiciary branches. We need judges to remain impartial. It is hard to become a judge for good reason and the ones that become judge have the experience and the knowledge to do the job well. If they ever slip up, the judiciary have their own system to limit or remove a judge.

    I'd establish a right to medical autonomy that protects abortion rights (up to 12 weeks), the right to life for any fetus that is viable (currently about 23 weeks, but potentially earlier in the future), an elimination of the death penalty, the right to transition (as an adult), the right to refuse medical treatment without discrimination (including vaccinations), the right to euthanasia, and the right to consume cocaine, opium derivatives, psychedelics, alcohol, tobacco recreationally for any American over the age of 21, and the right to proper development (meaning that children would not be able to receive say, hormone blockers, would be guaranteed access to 3 meals a day throughout the year via subsidized school lunches and food stamps if need be, would not be allowed to be sold recreational drugs, would have the right to sue their parents for allowing them to become obese as children) and perhaps, if it could get passed, enshrining CHIP (universal childhood health insurance).
    I'd also allow states to enter into interstate compacts with neighboring states or add a tier of government between federal and state government in order to reduce the scope of the federal government (allowing us more political flexibility without drastically decreasing governmental organization or efficiency).
    A clarification that the 14th Amendment applies to the government and not to private citizens and, as a result, private companies cannot be forced to comply with anti-discrimination policies, but that the 14th Amendment definitely protects the rights of homosexual families/couples in every way (Americans are supposed to be immune to discrimination based upon sex, and to determine whether or not a man, for example, has the right to marry someone based upon the gender of the person he is marrying, is inherently discriminating based upon the sex of an American.)
    Clarifying that no American citizen can be stripped of their right to vote during peacetime as this would create an incentive to abuse the legal system in order to tailor the electorate and codify a political party's power. Elections could easily be run in jails and prisons and certainly should not bar Americans who have served their sentences from participating.
    I'm clearly quite liberal, but if the framers of The Constitution were alive today, I'm certain that, while they wouldn't support any of those policies, they would admit all of that was exactly in the spirit of the Continental Conventions (except possibly the CHIP and Child food subsidy thing). Libertarianism, federalism and strong democratic institutions. Sad to see a day where both major political parties aggressively oppose some of these values (Republicans are anti-libertarian and anti-democratic and Democrats are anti-federalist and at times, also anti-libertarian).

    • @thepsychomagus
