Hey again! Trying to get back in the swing of uploading more than once a month. This is my solution (haha see what I did there) to being a lazy ass in the middle of summer.
Also I love Hachiya Nanashi SO SO MUCH. The boy in this is named Kranke (I KNOW my German is bad, even in singing all this classical music with my professors it still is my problem language) . I did a bit of digging and dug up some info from Koron’s website: The hospital in the video is a general hospital, not a mental hospital.
He seems to have some sort of connection to some of Hachiya Nanashi’s other songs (like Limelight), so even though my real current obsession is HAPPY SHAPE I decided to sing this song for the sake of orderliness. (Also because this song is much, MUCH easier than HAPPY SHAPE…)

I saw a theory that said this song is about a boy with no personality trying to commit suicide but not being able to. The boy thinks relationships with other people lead to happiness, but he starts to guestion that soon. In the end he finds a reason for living and gives up on suicide and instead finds determination to keep living. (That’s just the what i remember, my memory is really bad)

Wait, I just realized that the boy, Kranke, is a kranke at a krankenhaus
kranke = hospital patient
krankenhaus = hospital
I would´nt say that "kranke" is the right word to translate it to "hospital patient" because "kranke" is used for sick people or a sick person in general.
I don't think I know of another cover artist who takes as much care to keep the specific flow of the original words as much as you, it's wonderful!
Hello! To all asking about the meaning, I'm pretty sure this song has to do with a boy who has heart conditions stuck in a hospital. The kid I believe after some time doesn't want to keep living in the current conditions he's in, afterall there's a scene in which multiple cameras are shown. The cameras all eventually turn off, signifying their deaths. At the end the boy is shown sitting on a chair with the fish, or his heart, blown up, meaning the kid had comitted suicide or his heart finally gave up and killed him.
There's obviously more, I just wanted to give a basic understanding (hoping I'm right :)!) There was also some information on this character on the artist's website, but I can't find anything on there?? If anyone has anything else to add, please lmk!

Holy hell I literally just found out about One Off Mind (Been a fan of Happy Shapes n Limelight for months now though) and now I'm finding out about you and your amazing covers of songs. Elizabeth doan So I've listened to the English and Japanese version like a million times and the music video, so here's what I think it's about (just a guess, though): So "Kranke" means patient in German as in Hospital Patient or something like that. You know how he always has the little puffer fish toy following him around? It's connected to his heart, so I think it shows whether or not his heart is beating. He's eating the popsicle at the beginning and the lips lady gives him a golden apple or whatever because icecream's not healthy (and neither are forks, he eats those, too), and I guess the kid's having a checkup at the hospital to see how his heart condition is. He doesn't care too much for the checkup but he knows he has to go, so he does. He doesn't think his heart is getting proper attention. 1:33 Arginine is a chemical that is good for your heart. It opens blood vessels wider for better blood flow and does some other things. He has to take that, I think. 2:57 he starts coughing up blood and then has a heart attack, but is not afraid to die. Then he dies and the fish deflates.
