I know remote techs that scan 3-4 pts at a time regularly... was a tech aide and student before and my issue is the liability that lays upon the tech aide. Taking on the responsibility essentially as a MR Technologist with reduce pay rate doesn't make sense

I want to do remote scanning, but I want to do it from home.

Everyone does. Better be the best at it to compete.

After a long history of lumbar spine problems and two surgeries, I have not been able to get back into the clinic or hospital scene due to my back problems. I was beginning to think that my MRI career is over because of my back but now I’m starting to think this would be an option for me to continue scanning. I have 20 years experience doing MRI and I would hate to see that go to waste. I’ll definitely be researching this more for the future.

Its getting more scatchy ,it might be ok for op but not for inpatient sites, its nice to escape direct patient care , and who knows where the us healthcare is moving, probably into pure money making machine 😂. Running 4 scans its crazy i adjast to every pt I do.

Maybe she was concerned about “misrepresenting” the company she works for. Like be very careful what she said, therefore the short answers

@@victorreyes6487 ya I think that was definitely part of it but things she could've elaborated on without any risk towards the company, she didn't. She was very short with her answers.

Omg this is scary., multiple patients at once ? I think this is a safety issue. This interview didn’t make things crystal clear. I wouldn’t want to be a patient being scanned this way.

OK, I see how this works. Two, three, four patients at a time. These owners that you interviewed last week have lost all their credibility and respect, and should be ashamed of themselves. Serious liability issues and potential law suits. NO THANKS

Hey Joe, I understand there might be concerns about missing something important during remote scanning, or about the safety aspects involved. It's good to know that Alpha RT is really addressing these worries. They're not just hiring anyone - only experienced techs who've proven their skills with a competency test. And when it comes to safety, they're taking it seriously too. Their trained Tec assistants have gone through extensive training in patient care and MRI safety, focusing on one patient at a time. Even if the VRT is scanning 2 patient, each patient has their own tech assistant. This approach helps the technologist concentrate solely on the scanning, making it possible to safely scan more than one patient at a time. They are open to do whatever it takes to ensure that this is done safely and properly. If you have any suggestions on what you would do differently let's have that discussion. Like we've discussed before this is something that is coming, so let's work together to help facilitate the growth.

So is the tech aide held accountable for any MR safety issues that occur since they’re the ones who are physically there to have that direct line of communication with the patient, because this does seem like a big liability risk especially when you are multitasking many patients at once. I understand that we have a major shortage and remote is the way to alleviate this but from a safety perspective it just seems like we are taking steps back.

@@Zone3Podcast Really like your channel but I couldn't disagree more. Scanning two, three, four patients at a time is an awful idea in any situation. Doing so remotely is reckless and absurd and I'll bet the ACR would agree. Would love to hear Johnny Munster's opinion on this one...
