Star Citizen 3.20 Patch is LIVE and the game is dramatically changed for the salvage gameplay loop. Salvaging has been in the game for quite some time, including the massive reclaimer and the vulture. It is not until now that the vulture is available for purchase over at the New Deal in Lorville. Salvaging is a bit bugged in the 3.20 build and is slower than its supposed to be like in 3.19 and before. RMC is a valuable commodity coming in at around 7,700 aUEC per box, But that is not where the real value is in salvaging. Enjoy the guide and thank you so much for watching.

Good video and i'm glad you put in a bit of an update from the 3.21 PTU. One thing to note tho you can actually skip the 5k mission and go straight to the 20k mission to unlock the 30/50k missions. Also if you find the right C2 you can make anywhere from 5-12mil on what they call the 'jackpot' load. i've found a few of them on the PTU so far and they are quite juicy ranging from 200+ of Quant to 200+ of high paying drugs. Also i've been tracking the 50k mission location and they are constantly in the following locations:
Mic L1
Hur L2/4/5
So far i haven't seen any outside of those locations. Also in 3.21 you no longer have to worry about Cargo stacking, i have yet to run into any issues stacking different items on top of other items or just selling everything at once, granted its still a good practice to have just incase CIG screws something up.
Oh wow, I haven't gotten to deep dive into 3.21 cargo portions. I just reset my PTU character so I can get different ships and nosey around some more. Sounds like pretty great hauls you've found. I found one that was 192 SCU of copper, was pretty funny tbh.
Thank god ui will be fixed. Thought it was a problem on my end and that i was dumb to understand the whole scanning thing.
Glad to hear it also feels much better ! I love salvage gameplay loop in the Vulture and can't wait for 3.21 to go live, even if that means no more maze run, but heh.

Ik right! Scanning is so useful and honestly necessary for some gameplay in the game. I'm really enjoying the salvage loop, I didn't get to dive in like I wanted to until the vulture was at the new deal.

It was good to hear that the scrapper beams will be like they were in 3.19. The current beam rate is god awful slow. I have a Reclaimer and love it even with its bugs.
Bro I know, right. It's so painfully slow in 3.20. Scraping a connie will take you like 15-20 minutes.
They updated it I can fully scrap a hammerhead in 50-57 minutes with the trawler
@@jeffspore3126 how much you get for each box of scrap? In 3.19 someone said its 7.500 each box but it seems that they changed that too?
I'm just glad I got the invested money back (after 8 high price missions I have no loss any more, but didn't make any profit, because the cargo wasn't worth much).

My group did a C2 last night, we made 10 million off it because it was COMPLETELY LOADED WITH DRUGS. We sold at Grim Hex, made around 8 million. Then we flew over to another location and sold some more drugs before we got ambushed by pirates, losing the rest of the cargo and our C2. We made 10 mil before being destroyed though. This was from THREE C2s in a span of 1 hour. We were a 4 man as well. Pretty good chunk of change. IF you're doing blackmarket runs I would STRONGLY suggest you hire an escort, agree on a favorable cut of the profit and if you're running a group see if they'll do a group cut of everyone or just you for the escort. This escort will allow you to sell your stuff while deterring people from ambushing your ship (Usually, depending on the skill of the escort you might be safer using an asteroid..) Remember if you're running a C2 you only have guns in the back and while you're on the ground you're a chonky fcker and a sitting duck.
Honestly it's the stories like that which really make the experience feel immersive. It's just like "oh yea, people do that" and you bring muscle next time
Post IAE patch update. Sadly CIG nerfed the hell out of the risky mission and made a complete mess of it. Last night I took 5 different 30K missions to test it out (2 x C2's & 3 x M2's) which cost me 150K total and I only made 56K total from the cargo I pulled out of there and about 1.5 hour of work. The 3 M2's had absolutely NO CARGO at all and the others only had (scrap, distilled spirits, processed foods & only 1 SCU of Neon) between the 5 ships. The last 3 days before the patch I made 18 millions using the 30K missions. So either I was really unlucky or this is not a viable option anymore. Thanks again for the video GrayFox. Cheers

I was about to grab a Vulture during IAE to unlock the Risky Salvage missions, but uhhh I guess not anymore.
Makes sense for them to nerf it so hard, though.
but how you did you sold all that amount of drugs? i mean 18milions its like a whole day of jumping server?
thank you for the video. I use a drake vulture myself. Usually I don't take the personal missions. I fly my vulture to the salvage site, then suicide, and bring back mycargo ship, a freelancer max. At this point I start scraping and then load all items once the vulture gets fulll, into the Freelancer. Rinse - repeat until the ship is completely scraped. Not sure if this is more efficient or not, but I've had many problems completely filling up the hold in the vulture only to not be able to sell at the TDD.
That's pretty smart! I've ran into that same issue in the 3.21 build as well. I think they are working to fix it, they are patching the 3.21 build like every other day it feels like. That's a great system tho, keep at it man

hi, i have a question... so when you finish salvaging/scraping off the ship, does the contract auto completes or do you actually have to deliver something in order to unlock the more expensive contracts?
You can abandon the contract below 50% and it'll be considered complete. If you want to scrape the whole ship, once the bar reaches zero it will auto complete. No further steps required.
Thanks, also final question... if you finish a salvage mission which is legal and not illegal, can you sell the remaining containers of the scrapped ship or really not worth it?@@epic_grayfox
I have only been able to sell 1scu of slam at a time at one of trade terminals because there is no demand for slam and maze m. Do other trade terminals in other planets have different demands?
Demand at any of those stations I listed resets every 15 minutes. Usually it's easier just to server hop if you don't wanna wait
Do you know if they fixed the cargo issues in 3.21? Currently in 3.20 there's issues with selling where it deletes cargo and doesn't pay out and that's super frustrating for me. I heard that they're working on a fix but I don't think anyone has confirmed if that's been solved yet in this next update
Haven't tested that. A couple rules to follow to avoid issues:
1 - Stack smaller boxes onto bigger boxes
2- always sell smaller SCU crates first
3- only stack like items oe like item(ex. Beryl on top of beryl, neon on top of neon, etc.)
Generally following that I haven't had any issues.
I noticed there was a salvage beam attachment for the multi tool and I was haphazardly salvaging that way. My issue is that I don't know how to empty the salvage out of the tool
It takes those little black canisters. You need a empty canister to he able to replace them. They sell them at most space station shops that you can buy gear at.

Yes, personal missions are more likely to have illigal cargo. However they did nerf these. I made a new salvage guide to be more accurate to 3.22

I got a question, my vulture has either 2 of the narrow beams or 1 tractor + 1 broad beam, how can i change that?
This is actually a new update that came with a 3.21.1 subsequent patch. They added the tractor beam to prep for tractor beam and munching updates leading into 3.22 patch. You can change this by buying a Abrade scraper module at a shop and changing it with the tractor beam in your vehicle load out manager under the utility tab.

This looks awesome but man, you'll have to bring an armed escort with you to do this. I can totally see getting attacked especially when you go down to the cargo hold and move the boxes around.
I like to live dangerously. Never have an escort when moving cargo, even when selling drugs
Honestly we've been doing it for a week and haven't been bothered by anyone.
So far.
Made some good hauls too, over 70m so far between 3 of us, one pilot ship, one throwing cargo and one catching, can empty an C1 in about 3 or 4 minutes, total round trip per mission maybe 30 mind, but as its randomised sometimes you'll make 250k sometimes 10m though average is about 500k per trip
where do you sell the boxes. who buys the weapons and internals?
Standard commodities are sold at TDDs, drugs are sold at terminals located at the locations I listed in that section of the video, weapons can be sold anywhere you can buy ship weapons, same for components. If you can buy that type of item there, you can sell it there.
Favourite slavage ship is C2.

I talked about it in the video. RMC is sold at TDD terminals. CM is sold at admin terminals. Sometimes there maybe no demand so you can't sell. Those terminals are in different places depending on the city

How to make money in salvage: Salvage enough to unlock the missions, then ditch the salvage ship and just farm the cargo. So, not really salvage. Boring.
I meeeeeaaaaan, salvaging includes everything on or in the ship really. CIG has said the salvage cargo is not intended to be as lucrative as it is and they are supposed to tone it down. Meant more.to.be a nice addition rather than the entree

Don't you ever get attacked, lose your ship etc. I'm just a newbie doing newbie stuff and I get killed quite often in my ship doing small missions. By players or NPCs. The thought of owning any of these giant expensive ships makes me sweat.

The people that still play are hoping they can still enjoy the game. But most of us get disappointed every time and leave for another couple months. Yes the game fucking sucks right now. The devs are not giving us good gameplay and prefer to do stupid shit instead. Backers are basically unpaid testers.
