    I'm so happy I found this video! Great job and fun to watch! I'm part of a photo club and I'm taking over a demo for our president who can't be at our next meeting. You have saved the day for me with your great finger light shots. I'm off to practice and thank you so much! You're the best!😃

    Great video, Andy. In my experience, remember to focus on the composition of the entire shot. So get everything lined-up appropriately. When you are happy with your composition, remember your focal point should be the CENTER of the ball. Also, experiment with a variety of apertures to get your desired effect. Have fun!

    Instead of turning the whole image upside down at the end of the video, you can just use PS to select the area within the ball, hold the Shift key so it makes a circular selection (instead of an oval), then invert the selected area within the ball. I have also put the ball on top of a laser disc instead of a mirror.

    I know this sounds like a dumb question Andy but how are you using one hand to hold the ball and the other to focus and then snap a picture. My camera is not heavy but a bit awkward to try and look at the screen, use the zoom and then focus also and then push the button all while holding everything still. :) I have disabled auto focus and tried the macro button etc etc. I know it can be done as I have seen dozens and dozens of pictures but nothing in a video tutorial - only the end result. TIA. Mike

    • @AndyHornbyPhotos
      @AndyHornbyPhotos  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Mike great question. And it comes down to focus peaking on the Sony. This was manual focus. I just moved the ball back and forth intill I saw the spinnaker Tower was in focus. It took a few attempts. What you see on video makes it look a lot easier I know. But persevere buddy and it'll all come into focus... Sorry I couldn't resist the pun.
