    It is so much easier to follow the advice of people that actually practice what they preach. Being a proper example is invaluable!

      @Noah-gv6zj Před 3 lety +3

      Even a step farther! It's easy to follow the example of others, even if they're not preaching. What you do is far more impactful than anything you say.

    I'm the consummate creature of habit, just like most people. Jocko is right, discipline equals freedom. It brings me comfort. Having a beard doesn't mean you're not disciplined, however. I see many Subaru drivers and roller bladers with clean shaven faces. They typically wear flannel, listen to Sarah McLaughlin and think shitting on the sidewalk is a civil right.

    Being clean shaven and maintaining a high and tight is not just about conformity. The reason we must keep these standards is too stop the spread of disease. Bacteria clings to hair and when that hair is next to our nose and mouth we are going to get sick. We all should know that when one man goes down the team is deemed combat ineffective. Also, in a warzone we are surrounded by death, blood, feces, flies, mosquitoes etc. And living in close quarters with our team for long periods of time with no running water. This is when personal hygiene is extremely important so that we don't become combat ineffective do to our own carelessness.

      No shit!!!! He won't. I've asked the same question in some of his podcasts. He won't ever address it. It seems like Jocko's mantra of "EXTREME OWNERSHIP" would mandate it. No doubt he's aware of every detail. His cred is lower now in my book. TSgt Chapman WAS left to die. What a fckin animal!!!! "EXTREME OWNERSHIP"? How about EXTREME HYPOCRISY. 28 year Airman here w/12 years CCT. The Teams? whoop dee fuck smh. "Eh it's just an Air Force guy" "NOT a Seal like us" Glad we're alive cuz of him though so we can be cool Seals, hang out with movie stars and become youtube sensations" "A bunch of Seals cowered while an Air Force CCT'r gave his life to save their scared asses?"
