- Are you wondering what distinguishes native, web, and hybrid mobile apps? Let's break it down: Native apps are designed for use on a particular operating system (e.g., iOS or Android) and usually offer the best performance in terms of compatibility with smartphone hardware and features. Web apps are applications that run within the browser window of your device; these generally require an Internet connection to function properly. Hybrid app development combines elements from both native programming language as well as HTML5/CSS3 coding techniques to create cross-platform functionality across multiple devices.

Awesome
there's another "hybrid" type, at least on Android - don't know iOS. it's a native app but runs HTML/CSS/JS in a native WebView. so there is no middleware and it's no more buggy than any other native app. The webpage can by pulled and displayed from a remote server or baked right into the app. Here's an example that I made. The main page has the webpage baked in. Other pages pull from a remote server and require a data connection.
