This the final attempt of my Blaze Black Hardcore/Advanced/Extreme Nuzlocke Challenge. It is a ROM Hack of Gen 5 that attempts to make the game as hard as possible
Rules:
Can only catch the first Pokemon on every Route
If a Pokemon faints, it's dead
No Item Use In Battle
Set Mode
Can't overlevel the next gym leader

It would be so cool to see the stats on all the deaths. Like 200 normal pokemon died overall, only 5 starters made it to their final evolution, 10 runs ended to burgh, etc. Maybe I'll do that...

@@yellowtrey5361 he had a gyarados. Gyarados resists fire and is neutral on dragon. Gyarados is also insanely bulky, he absolutely could’ve played around it
I know he had a good strategy, but I still find it really funny that for the ice type gym he led with two dragon types.
It physically hurt me to watch him sacrifice Gabite.

@@willnelson9906 He doesn't ban garchomp for every single run, but in a lot of runs he bans psuedo legendaries and legendaries to make the run harder. I think in this particular run there was a way to guarantee a Gible encounter (it's been a while, so I don't 100% remember) , so he banned Chomp because he felt it would make the strategies less fun and more "Find a way to setup garchomp and win"
@@willnelson9906 He bans using multiple Pokémon during harder runs because they are sometimes really broken and breeze through battles. Garchomp is one but tbh I feel like it’s frail enough to balance out how strong it is. It’s hard to use sweepers on set mode. But whatevs.

Hey, have you ever tried a generation-locke? It's a bit of a project. Basically you play through each game in release order and whatever pokemon that survives the bout with the champion/red/final battle is from then on banned from being used in future gen's playthroughs. Currently trying one and it really has forced me into being more creative/diverse with my teams than I am usually, even by nuzlocke standards. Anyway, really appreciate the content, seeing you suffer and overcome these sadistic rom hacks is always a pleasure.
Do you start from gen 1 on wipeout? Also how do encounters work on banned mons, do you lose the encounter or do you try the first non banned mon?
does that include living mons in the box, or just survivors on the team?

@@Aikilyu I'm not THAT hardcore so I just restart the game I wiped at. I know one dude on 4chan(he's the guy that inspired the challenge) that restarted all the way back to pokemon red after he had gotten all the way to Black 2 and wiped to that games champion. Jesus Christ. About the ban rules may change depending on what you find most entertaining. For example, if i had an espeon in my party when I beat cynthia in platinum, I COULD ban the entire eeveelution tree, but I play it so I'm just unable to use Espeon in any future subsequent playthrough. As for encounter rules, I just include the hall-of-famers in the dupes clause as they will always remain in my heart, so if I beat Blue in pokemon red with a machamp that survived, then I can't catch a machop again ever.
@@vktrlndwll95 When you say survivors, would it be an exploit to purposely sack a decent mon if you guarantee the win with some less decent mon, allowing the use of other good mons in further runs? Wouldn't it be optimal to just end a champion battle with a strategised 1-0 victory?

Like a few others, I was first annoyed with the "best nuzlocker" titles. But after this video, not only can I respect your skill, but this video actually made me go "holy crap, already spent an hour just watching this?" Very interesting seeing the strategy both before and during these fights.

The 1st time I heard you calling yourself "The Best Nuzlocker in the World" made me feel like it was very obnoxious and maybe even quite arrogant.
Now, after watching a lot of your videos and streams, I can say that yes, you are probably The Best Nuzlocker in the World, well, at least the Best Nuzlocker in CZcams.
I admire your resilience and how you keep trying and grinding until you win, even if it takes you 40+ attempts. You also have the knowledge to come up with good teams, the forethinking to manipulate your Nuzlocke to maximize the chances to get good encounters and the criativity to elaborate out-of-the-box strategies like this Tickle Contrary Servine.
That being said, PC, I think you are truly well deserved to regard yourself as The Best Nuzlocker in the World.

I felt this way at the beginning too, especially when the first few vids I saw were reactions to other nuzlockes. It seemed to me like he was being a bit of a smart arse, if you know what I mean? But to be fair, the other guys were making stupid decisions and did kinda suck...
As I watched more and more of his videos, I found it hard to shake that first impression but now I have and I can really see why he calls himself that. It's a well deserved title and this man really and I mean really knows his stuff.

Do you think you'd ever do a general analysis of what makes a good pokemon rom hack? Or just your own recommendations?
Personally, I think a good Pokemon romhack is not having too much of original Pokemons (Fakemons if you prefer) because type considering is too hard in that way, I once tried Uranium and I mistyped some critical Pokemon that actually ended my nuzlocke run
Then make sure to find with National Dex mode (more than the original game has, so its cross-generation)
Look at the screenshots or info in the game for something you find interesting, like this, for example, double battle gym battles, rotation battle rivals, triple battles etc
Credit where it's due this is awesome. Came across your channel recently and have been binging your runs, in fact watched the failed attempts for this one the other day. The amount of planning and effort that clearly went into this is so appreciated given how amazing the quality of the content is. Stay awesome

good work PC, I stumbled onto you're page after watching Jaiden's nuzlocke and saw that you reacted to it. I watched that vid and saw how smart you were about Pokemon in general, I watched more vids and now it's just making me want to spam nuzlockes. Currently I just started a Blaze Black 2 Challenge mode nuzlocke. Also just the fact that I'm brand new to nuzlockes (never full out completed 1) and saw you struggle to hc nuzlocke while you have so many hours just gives me shivers lmfao

@@frootloops2877 yeah I mean if it was just Calyrex with the Triforce NGD, but it Rides signature horses, and is Grass type or favors green. Of they wanted to do a Zelda reference or have a Link Esque character they could've done an athletic bunny (like a smaller bulkier, slightly Mega Lopunny, make it Grass/Fighting or Grass Steel and the ears could be green colored and Twist down its back for the Hat Link wears

Actually, it's not meant to be the Triforce, but to represent the logo that the Triforce also represents. It's the Mitsuuroko, the emblem of the Hojo clan. They were basically the rulers of Japan at the time of the Shogunate.

I finally beat this game it's so great I used all the same rules as you but I decided to use heals for certain fights but no x items. It was an amazing experience and I'm gonna try blaze black 2 next

One of the only nuzlockers on CZcams that doesn’t rely on 20 Hyper Potions to get through the hard fights. Creative strategies and actually playing around crits rather than whining about them when they happen. Top tier Nuzlocker for sure.

Had to come back and see this gem again. You (Pkmn Challenges) actually inspired me to do my first Nuzlocke -- Pokemon White, I believe, on cartridge. Wiped to Clay, but I started a second one, only to fizzle out due to grinding fatigue. I think I'm going to get myself an emulator once school's out for the semester so I can actually complete the Nuzlocke. I'm going to see this through. Hope this comment helps with the algorithm!
Hope you haven’t given up out there, man! I hate grinding, too, so what I do is hack rare candies in and give myself a hard level cap. Still challenging, even more so as my Pokémon have less EVs, but it makes it a lot more fun in my opinion rather than a constant grindfest!

36:00 turns out that you fight iris in volt white (as you do in white) HOWEVER its a tricking TRIPLE BATTLE, I'm honestly stuck at with the cap at 65 its insanely hard to fight a triple battle against dragons. I either barely survive and wipe to elite four or don't even get past it. Frick volt white lol

I'm doing this as my second hardcore run, on (real attempt 16 after 5 crashes) I haven't even made it to the second gym leader since I don't want to overlevel the first gym but grinding is aggressively tedious after the first gym before fighting those 2 team plasma members for the dream mist. You're fuckin nutty at this dude lol
Gotta give thanks to the CZcams Algorithm for this one. I don't always have time to watch the full videos but the ones I have watch just really kept me engaged. Very enjoyable content and just reminding me why I love pokemon so much even after all these years. Thank you for the content bro, Definitely Subscribing for more.

definitely more skill, but it's next to impossible to hc nuzlocke games like this without luck. he didn't fail 150 emerald kaizo runs because he wasn't good enough, most of them were resets due to bad encounter luck
