This was the his 2nd song on the 2nd week and SOS was the 1st song on the 1st week. The competition lasted a total of 14 weeks! Every act except Dimash were professional and Asian. The people backstage are the competition. The 500 audience members are the judges, who rank the performances each week. The man that did the fist pump at the end of this song is his dad. When Dimash was thanking the orchestra and the audience he saw his dad, who was there for support and it was a surprise so Dimash wouldn't be distracted. After he finished his thanks he walked over to his dad and hugged him and lifted his dad off the floor! 🎶🎶👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤
Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The song is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas.
The song is very famous and popular in China. The audience already knew what to expect, but were very surprised when Dimash raised the pitch three times. Vitas but only once. The lyrics were right but I think you put to much meaning to the in this song😊.
The man who raises his fist in the air at the end is Dimash’s father. He came from Kazakhstan to support his son. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. So beautiful and emotional.
BTW the audience is also the jury.
During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰.
I love this video because he still seemed so innocent. Just a boy and he didn't seem as serious as he sometimes is these days. He still looked carefree. I think what's happening today in the world worries him a lot.

In some it is important to understand what the song is about. There are a lot of beautiful, sad and awesome songs to discover. This is so emotional because he literally sang for survival as he was almost voted out on the last episode on Uptown Funk. That's why he had to give everything at Adagio.
