    Very cool to see a real Pilatus PC-12 testing this aircraft for MSFS. I hope SWS will watch this video and consider your comments to make this addon even more perfect. Keep bringing more information, it will be very welcome!

      What I don't get: how do they need to gather feedback after months of gathering feedback from even Pilatus themselves?? Seems to be common practice these days to have customers do the final polish.
      Great video!❤

    It's great to hear your feedback on this. SWS does use a real world PC-12 captain as part of their development team, and they've been working very close with the manufacturer, and the planes are modeled after an airline from Switzerland's PC-12s, which is also where their sound recordings come from. But they are still working on finessing the models so it's important to keep looking out for the updates (two have come out since the initial release to clean up bugs and certain features). Now, I use the TDS NXi rather than the default 530, and that uses the real Garmin trainer model as its basis, so my TOGA option works as it should. What they have to clear up on their end is heading hold, which causes a weird Dutch rolling effect right now. They're supposed to update that next week. And while they have worked really hard on modeling as much of the finite details of the aircraft as possible, the MSFS 2020 shell has some limitations that 3rd party developers can't navigate around, so all of them have to balance realism v. what can still work within the sim, i.e. the oil pressure issue you noticed on engine start. But, I do know they are preparing a separate download purchase that will allow one to model various failures in the future, and perhaps with that package, the engine will behave more realistically so that you can account for hot and hung starts, etc. By the way, if you want to see your upper panel a bit more clearly beyond panning up, hit the "1" key on your keyboard. But if you're interested, the "Overkill" channel hosted one of the real world PC-12 pilots that's serving as a developer (I believe he hinted at flying for 'Tradewinds', which could also explain why their livery comes with the program), and he provides a lot of great behind-the-scenes feedback on the model's behavior v. real world procedures and behaviors that is very helpful in navigating this sim: czcams.com/video/qVEmj88qgwA/video.html

    Nice job with your review! I learned a lot from you. I was so fired up about your review, I posted a link for it on SWS's Discord Channel. I too hope they make some adjustments based upon your real life experiences with the PC-12. I've only flown Pipers and Cessna's in RL. SWS are curently using MSFS autopilot, hence no autopilot test and Go around test are not working. Also for the starting sequence and the oil, they plan to release a patch with improved turbine simulation. Anyway great video, very informative and I’m really looking forward to more video from you, so we can learn more about the plane and how to operate it correctly. Also I can’t wait to see what you think about the flight model of the aircraft, of course It’s a sim so there are limitation but this FM is pretty interesting if you compare it to the Carenado

      I just made a post on this I'll link to here. I haven't gotten a chance to actually fly the airplane yet, but there is quite a bit of left-turning tendency on takeoff and climb. One must have strong legs to fly the Legacy. 😁 czcams.com/users/postUgkx7BDUxKtXCz-D2SA43HIdb8y9m56wE-WZ

    throwin this out for anyone that might know...i fly with the Boeing TPA yoke....on landing i run out of elevator authority at touchdown...cant hold the bird off and it just makes a carrier landing...otherwise, all pretty good...the manual says all the bindings need to be linear...i tried that way and with sensitivity adjustments...also adjusted the elevator authority in the customization page...if i cant get this fixed, wont be able to continue flying this bird...any advise is appreciated...

    Dear Gene:
    I was trying to land the SWS PC-12/47 at VGEG, RW 23 ILS approach. AP engaged. At 1,000 ft approx. and below the plane deviates from the centerline, still ap engaged. No wind.
    After ap disengage, it is very difficult to maintain centerline. The plane goes left and right. After landing, the plane yaws left and right...very difficult to keep centerline! This is v 1.1.0. How can I do it better? I read the manual, landing tips. Still no help. Please suggest.

      Generators supply electrical power to their respective busses. Take a look at the LH and RH breaker panels to see which components are powered by which gen. There’s also the option of tying busses together if there’s a failure in the system.

    Can you confirm it's a common procedure irl to turn on the GEN2 first? Cause I saw some other review where the Pilot said the GEN 1 is a 300Amps Gen and the Gen2 "only" 150 Amps, and you would possibly fry the GEN 2 by turning it on first?

    • @GeneStuart
      @GeneStuart  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes, Pilatus calls for gen 2 on first. Take a look at the AFM for the series 10/10A (Google Pilatus PC-12 AFM; Pilatus has free PDFs on their website), section 4, p. 4-12, Engine Starting checklist. Pilatus calls for gen 2 to be switched on first, check to make sure the gen 2 CAWS light extinguishes, then gen 1 on.

    So from one PC12 pilot to another, shouldn’t you be starting with gen 1 then gen 2? Remember gen 2 is only rated to 115 amps and gen 1 a momentary 450 amp. So starting with gen 2 could overload it. Idk I’ve always started with gen 1 then gen 2.

    • @bierutki
      @bierutki Před 6 měsíci

      Just watched some of your other videos haha and you fly the NG so yea both your generators are rated for 300 then lol. But in that case you wouldn’t be flipping the “dusty switches”
