  • Today I will be reviewing the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, a name that's shared with a premium phone, but is really taking over the S10e name. That said, this is more like the S20e Plus.

    At first I also had a doubt if it buying this phone earlier this year is still worth it. But I realized different things.
    -Galaxy S21 FE, S22 heats up a lot. I'm a heavy user of camera and I don't want a phone that heats up randomly.
    -Better battery life than S21 FE
    -S23 is just too expensive here in our country.
    -Yeah maybe this will become outdated in updates but at least it still works.
    Also, even if I will buy a newer galaxy phone, I will still use it as my second phone. This also has a soft spot in my heart, because the girl that I like has the same model as mine. 🤣

      If you search here on CZcams you can find videos that compare the s20 FE to the S23FE. To my eye, the camera's on the s20FE produce better looking photos and videos. People in the comments seem to agree with me.

      @RealWorldReview  Před 10 měsíci

      Given the age of the phone and treatment of used models, it's safe to assume that the IP68 rating won't hold up well. I see phones from 2018-2021 fail from liquid damage quite a lot now

    My buddy gave me his old one for free when he upgraded to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. For a free phone, it's surprisingly good for being 3 years old. I only have slight little hiccups but nothing out of the ordinary for a phone that's 3 years old. The reason why he just gave it to me is because of a small hairline crack at the bottom of the screen, and also with that S23 Ultra, he'd probably never touch this phone again. I was starting to hate my Pixel 6a, so I'm glad I have this. Still plenty fast, decent battery and all around exceptional phone, especially since it was free.

    • @Gereeen
      @Gereeen Před měsícem +1

      @@syncrovanCos it's great but for like $60 more you could get the S21 preferably plus or ultra which is absolutely worth it in 2024 my cousin has it and she plays genshin so yeah it can handle these types of games
      one down side the S21 has two versions unlike the S20
      the exynos which is objectively worse than the other version the snapdragon not by a big margin but it's quite noticable on paper
      I'd recommend the S21 FE which is on my opinion better than the normal S21 (mainly because of the battery), or the S21 Ultra which is slightly more expensive than the S21 Plus they all run the same ships but for the best value the S21 Ultra is the better with the largest battery and camera improvements and other things
      one other thing why I don't really recommend the S20 FE is that it's way older now than when i bought it and it heats up quite often especially in the summer season when i play games like COD Mobile or Warzone (warzone is absolutely trash on my phone but not unplayable), so a better specced phone like the S21 is perfect in 2024 as a low priced flagship
      and also the reason i am not recommending the S22 is because it's still very new and has like a year or two more of updates and it's price still hasn't gone down, but if you're willing to wait for like 2025 apply the same logic i did for the S21 on the S22 and hopefully you get the best value for your money
      hope this helps

    It's too good of a phone to replace in my opinion.
    That Snapdragon chipset is by far the best for Android compared to Samsung own chipset.
    Im up for a battery replacement which should be a simple operation.
    I still get regular security updates for my phone but unfortunately there wont be any OS updates.

    I'm even looking at buying this now. I'd buy a more modern phone but all the good ones don't have any SD card slot anymore (like this was the last samsung and most other mid range/flagship phones don't have them either)
    like my current phone is pretty old and tattered and I was thinking of using my phone to emulate games as well but the 128 or 256 gb most phones come with won't be enough if you're gonna start adding ps2 and gamecube games and shit. (and the upcharge for built in storage is fucking ridiculous. I could buy 10 SD cards for the amount they ask extra for 512 gb phones :s)

      Don't listen to him. I have been using this very phone (the Snapdragon 865 5G variant) since the start of May this year and it is pretty much one of the best phones you can buy at its price range. Yes, the updates remaining will end by the end of 2024 but still at the price point, it is the best. And about the glass, always use your phone with a tempered glass screen protector and a silicon cover on the back. It's good for your peace of mind in any case.

      It made you want to abandon Android? Even though there's hundreds of other options with an Android OS on them, you want to abandon Android based off of one singular phone. Not to mention your gripe is clearly with the chipset, yet you're choosing to blame the OS. You're clearly an iPhone user who doesn't understand the Android OS.

The S21 FE at the time was like 55k INR while this was 25k INR, so it was a no brainer that I went for this one. Yes, display brightness under direct sunlight could be much better but overall the chipset makes it a superior phone to the S21 FE even now, of course that phone has its own advantages over this too, but they aren't very special except for the updates promise.
