kuch words hote hai jinme koi phonics rule apply nahi hota unko tricky words kehte hai . Do- tricky word hai vowel o long or short nahi hai . Go and so dono me vowel o long hai.

Wa-ter . It has two syllable. Is the vowel is not short then divide the words after it. If the vowel has short sound then divide it after the consonant followed by it.
First is open wa -and vowel a is not short
Second is close syllable ter- vowel e is short

Kuch words jinme bilkul bhi phonics follow nahi hoti for pronunciation unko tricky words kehte hai. Do - is tricky word. Go and so has long vowel o sound in the end
