No wonder the late queen Elizabeth was so against Harry and Meghan from the get go. The moment she saw their behavior, she was triggered by the memory of the man who tore her family apart.

Yes, HM was a wise old duck. There wasn’t a crisis or a dictator or a traitor she hadn’t dealt with in her lifetime.
She was probably one of the wisest people in the world in her final decades particularly.
And she only put her foot wrong in some people’s opinions and some of those were from totally different times for the upper classes from today’s values.
I only read the “Wild About Harry “ interview this year. I’ve made a point in not contributing to the MSM circus or doing anything that will benefit them in any way, including cancelling my Netflix subscription.
In my opinion THAT’S where she set out the blueprint for their future in that article.

My own grandmother was an 18yo school teacher in a one room rural American schoolhouse in the Northwoods when her 40yo Father died suddenly from a massive stroke one year after having taken out a bank loan to purchase 50 head of cattle. Her mother and 14yo brother quickly found they could no longer manage to feed the cattle with the harsh winter coming soon so they herded the cattle a few miles south to the railroad. Ultimately, to their horror with the recent crash of the American markets, the price they got for their lovely herd to cattle was only enough to BARELY cover the cost to ship them off to be slaughtered. The entire family homestead was soon lost, because of that bank note for the cattle. The 14yo was "hired out" to work for a neighboring farmer, while the widow went to be a live-in housekeeper for a man and his 6 children a few hrs away all to keep food in their bellies and a roof over their heads! The Great Depression had harsh ramifications on the dreams and lives of so very many Americans - the Winsors might have lost on their Canadian cattle, but they certainly managed to live without feeling the consequences!

Unfortunately people don’t write letters like they used to and much of what has been written in this book will have been sealed for decades under the “Official Secrets Act “.
I don’t know when this file was opened BUT one of Markle’s connections wrote a book from Wallis’ perspective 🙄, released in 2019.
Described by The Independent as “Mills & Boonish” (& I’ve read many other reviews & that was probably the most polite) .
The same connection, Anna Pasternak, wrote such a hatchet job on Catherine and I don’t remember if it was before or after the book, that Buckingham Palace threatened legal action. Tatler had to remove a paragraph but the damage was already done by then.
After looking further into Pasternak she sounds like a similar sort of character to Markle.
She tried suing an American author for stealing her work and ended up having to pay said author £1,000,000.
      Justice was finally served.
Let’s hope Karma comes for Markle very soon.
Harry isn’t a lot better but have often felt that he’s suffering “battered husband syndrome “ - something I know about & I’ve seen several photos of him with a bruised face and face & neck- or Stockholm syndrome…something for him to just do as he’s told after the excitement of the sex wore off.
      👍🇦🇺

I saw an interview with the author, who said he is primarily an academic and researcher.
He had great difficulty getting the information he requested. Some of his requests were either ignored or the information had been ‘lost’.
My mother relayed to me how hard things were during this time and brave, dutiful citizens continued to tighten their belts and cope with severe austerity.
If social media had been available at that time these two extremely self entitled brats would have been vilified for sure instead of receiving sympathy because of their ‘love story’.
Brilliant video as usual, I so look forward to the weekend when one drops. Thank you

I’m Australian but love English shows set during wartime - Foyle’s War & Land Girls in particular show 2 different stories from the same time. There are others too I can’t think of off the top of my head. In fact I’m rewatching Foyle’s War and rewatched episode one last night.
I guess with all the stiking in Hollyweird TV here is hanging on to these old shows and I’m happy about it.
Unfortunately it will probably be a lot of reality crap will come out - cheaper to make and no actors or writers needed. Imo every time someone watches a reality show a book dies. I saw this quote once on a book site & fashioned it to suit my needs.
I DO think they’re right. TV is rotting our young people’s brains BUT I have to admit that my guilty pleasure is RHOBH 🤦🏽‍♀️
What i was SHOCKED to learn was that rationing was still in place until the early 1950s and that MEAT wasn’t unrationed until 1954 - 9 YEARS after the world ended. 😢

David would have made a deal with anyone, including the devil himself, if he believed he would regain his throne. The thing I find most despicable is that he obviously hoped England would be defeated. He also appeared to be blatantly callous about how many deaths of his former countrymen, including his own family, would likely occur. His attitude defies understanding by normal human beings.

I read several books about the Duke of Windsor a few years ago. They all tended to concentrate on the abdication and the level of support Edward VIII had amongst the general public, so most of this book is news to me. I imagine that 'The Palace' curated Edward's image at the time to hide his less admirable characteristics and beliefs, much as they did to protect Prince Harry, encouraging the Press to treat him as a cheerful, cheeky youngster and make allowances for bad behavior. They seem to have continued to hide Edward's treasonable actions after his abdication, which only made a rod for their own backs. It makes me wonder if they took a conscious decision not to do the same for Harry because they'd have to carry on doing it for the rest of his life?

Again many thanks. When it is said HISTORY REPEATS itself, it really is like a ghost writer writing Harry & Meghan's saga but trying to disguise it in another place & time. It is so unbelievable the the likeness of behaviour from both Simpson and David. Americans I feel, find it hard to understand how the British accept the Royal family - the privilege bestowed upon them. Just because a President changes every four years, we don't see the difference. With one exception our politics can be separated from diplomacy, which is very difficult for an American President to even attempt to do. The role of the RF therefore is apolitical and has to be seen that way. Just goes to show how much Harry knew about his role went he flagged up he had never voted! David on the other hand, rather like Harry wanted his cake and eat it. Is there any substance to the alleged idea, that Harry and Meghan wanted: joint regency, share of the Duchy of Cornwall (traditional funding of the Prince of Wales & family) and .... wait for this one King and Queen of the Commonwealth, just imagine that, all of course allegedly. (Was it one of the five options Harry wrote in SPARE).

I agree that Harry and Meghan aren’t smart enough to do much, but I think we underestimate how evil people can attach themselves to them. I think we may find out that H & M are involved in a lot more stuff than we think.

Even had the Nazis won the war, I’m not sure that Hitler (assuming he wasn’t killed or assassinated) would’ve made David king. In Germany, under the control of Hitler and already branded a traitor to England was the Duke of Sax-Coburg. He was also Queen Victoria’s favorite grandson. He had two sons serving in the German Army. Both were Nazis.
He would’ve been much more malleable and cheap to keep than Wallis and David. Plus the monarchy of England would only need to be kept until the country was pacified. I think David’s true value to Germany was the propaganda value in the US. Keeping America out of the war was the most important job. Germany could bomb England to dirt. Bombing America would’ve been another story. Leaving a power house of manufacturing and man power almost untouchable.

The parallels between the two traitorous couples are off the charts! You would think that since history often repeats itself, the royal family would be a little more proactive and sever the royal ties of H&M. Cut them off!

I wonder if Churchill paid off David’s French debts so they would have a place to go after the war that wasn’t British soil? That’s the main thing that makes logical sense. Though Churchill had a lifelong soft spot for David - he & his wife spent their 40th wedding anniversary w David & Wallis, iirc.
This whole period of the NA tour really reminds me of the first New York tour that HM did. They’re not really royals anymore, chose to leave, but no one knows how to treat or receive them and this the red carpet gets rolled out for them.
