- My overpowered Stygian (dragon up L, speed up L, attack up L, dragon bingo, speed bingo, Level 92, etc.) VS Fatalis, a hidden boss you can unlock at the end of the game (normally very tough!).

Fatalis' ridiculous weakness to Dragon element strikes again.
The dragon element affects smart monster. Basically the smarter the monster the more effective it is.

Every monster who has dragon element is weak to dragon
and all of fatalis have weakness to fire too
Yes gaijin, Fatalis has a weakness to fire in the main games(you can see it on the armor in 4U). I don't understand it either.
My guess is that the armor and bone melted on him will melt again causing pain.
If that's the case then he couldn't create explosions near him, and his body would have to heat up in order to spit fire, meaning it would probably melt then.
RandomNPC Lore wise, that works but from a gameplay balance perspective, that was probably how they justified.
That said, explosions are dangerous because of concussive force and shrapnel, not the fireball it makes.
Alternatively the justification would be that fire element melts away at his armor and leaves him more vulnerable.
Its almost as stupid as almost all Water element monsters being weak to fire.
Spacecats you can justify that with the idea that their bodies aren't built to deal with fire. They are made to be in contact with water, not fire.
Granted it doesn't make sense that you can use fire underwater but that's just video game logic at work.
I never knew how much I wanted this game until now...
I always dreamt of a Pokemon-style MH game and this looks dope
Monster Hunter stories is fantastic. It has a depth of mechanics and willingness to challenge players that I think is really missing from the single player of the pokemon games.
Tip: Kill Gold Rathian, Get "Blazing Falchion", upgrade it to HR.
There's your "Golden Falchion" everybody!
Same with Silver Rathalos, get the Rathalos Greatsword, and level it up to HR after killing Silver Rathalos.

It irritates me that item consumption just takes one turn. Whenever i eat or drink something in real life i'm flexing my muscles for at least 10 minutes afterwards. Apart from that it seems like a nice game.

Eazy Highly unlikely and honestly im getting tired of people like this. Its not coming, youre only hurting yourseld by holding on to hopes like this. This same guy the leaked that a mh game was being made for ps4 and guests the name right for double cross said that a new monster hunter portable was in the works. Seeing as how the portable series is made by a side mh team at capcom (just like mhxx, probably the same team), Id say that this is going to be the next monster hunter for switch. Main team makes mhw and the side team makes mhp5. The problem with this is that itll most likely get a late 2018-2019 release because a few reasons. For one, the time gap between now and world is too short to annouce and launch a new game. This means that itll be released after world which comes out early 2018. Early 2018 could be from january-april I personally think world will be released march or april. MHp5 will probably be annouced at e3 2018 (july) or a little before that. After the announcement they could do what they did with world and say early 2019, but since they have a huge player base on nintendo consoles and probably want to stick with pumping out games yearly for nintendo consoles, the game will be released from sep 2018-dec 2018. So basically in a year you should have a brand new monster hunter for switch and maybe 3ds; if the rumors are true at least(like I said, the other rumors the guy said turned out to be true so this most likely is true also). And lastly, I jist have to say that I dont care for xx, I dont even have a switch and dont even use my 3ds. The reason I even bothered to right all this is because im sick of people whining and clinging onto false hope, you people act like its the end of the world and will even turn aggressive towards another game in the series just because you dont get what you want. Its ridiculous really; anyhow share this with other switch players and xx players so that they know whats up. Im tired of seeing everyone in tbe comments begging for this to be released when you all know youd rather have a brand new mh instead.

Try Final Fantasy Explorers and its numerous insta death attacks later in the game.
Just use anti death on your armor in explorers
Riseofyoshi I was mostly referring to A. Leviathan. Granted, they all have counters(A. Levi is perfectly cheesable with the swimsuit set + Float), but it's still meh.

Watching this made me realize how much I want a weapon that just lets you ride miniature monsters in the main line games. Not just the Raider ride but I wanna ride me a little Lagiacrus damnit. I want my thunder boi.

@@yemanthike4770 True, the Palamute's will be a very welcome treat. I'm hoping we can get them to look like all manner of things, Foxes would be welcome, perhapse a nine tails skin. And I will just DIE if we get an Okami Amaterasu skin, 'note the running animation for Palamute and Ammy is nearly identical. I'm predicting a crossover event for Okami, it REALLY makes sense as all of the enemies in Okami are Yokai and the monsters in Rise seem to follow a Yokai theme.

Well this game looks more Fun than i expeced. Its kinda like Pokemon, but has its own realy good Fight-System that just reminds in it... and i somehow like the fact that its a hard Game, tho it looks like its for kids :D

This video gave me a lot of 4U flashbacks. Fatalis was an absolute nightmare for me when I first faced it and even after I'd gotten a bit better it still was a really intense fight. I like black(regular) Fatalis for its theme, Crimson for its G rank fight and White Fatalis is overall my favorite monster.
Watching this actually makes the game look fun, i might go back and play it
This game looks really fun actually, i remember seeing the concept of runing around on a rathalos i thought that was sick. now that ive seen gameplay of the hunts this looks fresh! excited for this to come to the west. thanks gaijin for the vid also.

Hey Gaijin hunter, so i'm playing stories as well (had to restart i'm afraid) But I do have a few questions. How Will I know if a Monster is good for endgame? Is it it's base stats, number of bingo slots or is it both? (I found a pink rathian with 7 bingo slots and high base stats once and it wrecked everything )
SO how do I tell if I can bring it in the end game is basically my question

Is it possible to avoid losing hearts to Fatalis's final attack by mounting your monstie? I've noticed while playing that no attack is capable of taking your health below 1 HP while you are mounted, and the next hit will simply force a dismount instead of dealing damage.

Oh yeah, wanted to ask about the music....since I don't hear Fatalis's theme here, does that mean all other elders/flagships don't have their themes in this? Or are they remixed and I'm just not hearing it yet? o.o
None have signature themes except kirin and the final boss (not fatalis) I think fatalis's is unique but it is not his original theme, same with kirin.

Instakill is incredibly cheap. Imagine going to the wire on this fight and having that happen. On a side note, this games art style is lovely.
actually if you have fire resistant monster it won't kill you cause I have ratha and brachy it doesn't kill it lol

I was a rebel during my first time fighting this guy.
I was wearing Epic Hero's Tunic and using the Master Sword both fully upgraded and had a Glavenus with me.
What really shocked me is I won barely.
Only dragon move my Glavenus had was Dragon Spread but had a lot of fire moves including a Silver Rathlos move.
Is it true that there's a "black egg" which is mentioned as a "Fatalis's egg" ???

Dylan Samuels I'm pretty sure it's just YOUR monsties, so you cannot ride every monster.
There are specific monsters you can obtain in the game, the only elder dragon you can own is Kirin (Atleast until a dlc show up to say the contrary)

honestly, i would've given that stygian tenacity for the dust explosion and soothing call to heal afterwards. silver rath also works, thanks to infernal breath and wyvern king's dance. .3.
