Here's the deal. The status of something is the importance that people give it. Why anyone would spend an outrageous amount of money on a handbag just because it is considered a rare item of luxury (but is only worth 130 percent of it's value and depreciates with wear and tear) is beyond reason.
Strathberry is not popularised by markle, it was Princess of Wales herself

OK, would it be possible to stop using the word dupe - it means to deceive. A dupe is trying to exactly mimic a product in a way that you can't tell the real from the fake. All the bags in the video may be of a similar silhouette but Hermes didn't invent the Birkin style.

@@seabreeze4559 - I understand from where you're coming (a 'fake' would definitely pretend to be what it's not, whereas a copy might not). A 'dupe' is a "duplicate or copy of something", certainly, but to 'Dupe' can also mean "to trick or deceive". I think, on that basis, it's an inappropriate word. These brands are not exactly copying a Birkin; and even a Birkin isn't exactly original, in many respects. Moreover, most of the bags featured could hardly be described as copies, other than they have similar practical features (feet, pockets, handles, straps, etc).
