Doesn't matter if he destroys 10 engines a year as he will just get the 11th one where as other drivers make one engine last years. Yes he can drive but he dives his cars to destruction as he knows if it breaks there is no financial impact on his own pocket. Smith had a decent backing but it was a fraction to what Harris has access to. Don’t recall Smith going Sprint Car racing in the US with a fully paid for car, transporter etc. You are delusional if you think Smith and Wainman were ever in the same financial backing league as Harris and his sugar daddy.

I heard about the "corner cutting" incident, and I for one agree with +placid renegade, you're not going to work all year, qualify for a semi and then the World Final, and then throw it all away just to clatter into some parked cars! Frankie did what needed to be done to keep his race alive. He acted on instinct, and I saw absolutely nothing wrong with that move at all. FWJ did what he does best. He drove a smooth, controlled race, and took a deserved third World title. When I heard that I was over the moon, I just wish I could have been there to see it in person. Oh well, c'est la vie. Well done Frankie, and go Team Wainman!! Champions come and go, legends live forever!
Serious question: How hard is it to build a proper dirt track over there? Just seems like a bunch of one lane flat bottom feeder tracks these things race at. I'd much rather watch these things race 3 wide, throwing stinky sliders, than watch a continuous wreck fest.

VHT418 It's a full contact sport so they don't need that much room there are bigger tracks out there too
It's completely different mate, you need a banking (or very wide track eg Knoxville) to make a race. We have full contact
