First two seasons are meat. Human. Meat.
They mention Dennis and Dee being twins a couple times in season 1, but they're so untwinlike that it's easy to forget. I'm looking forward to seeing you watch season 3. The show really hits its stride. Season 3 might be my favorite, but 4 and 5 are right up there with it.
I'm a season 7 guy myself. The two-part finale could have been the end of the show as far as I'm concerned based on what it revealed about their past. Plus season 7 Mac lol.
They're fraternal twins. They're basically just brother and sister that happened to be born at the same time.
Frank calling his wife a 'hoor' is one of the great running gags in the future seasons

Dennis and Dee are twins, and Bruce is definitely their genetic father. They are the people they are because he had nothing to do with raising them. Once you've gotten through this show a while more, you'll understand how much Dee and Dennis are products of their environment.

She spent almost her entire end reaction musing about who their father really is and saying she can't wait to keep watching to find out. Yeah the guy who plays Bruce got in to trouble for doing, uh, things with minors. Big contrast to the character he plays on the show.

It really made Frankâs Season 4 suggestion that âBruce might be banging dudes...and maybe the dudes are babies!â a lot darker in retrospect.
I only found this out thanks to comments in reactions. The irony that the most wholesome character was the worst person in real life - while the horrible characters all seem to be great people in real life

You gotta start watching the season bloopers after you finish each season! Theyâre pretty short for the first few seasons but as you get further and further the bloopers vids get longer and longer and more and more hilarious đ

Hello again! I subscribed right away when you did you first IASIP reaction and Iâm so glad youâre sticking with it and having a good time, really liked some of your movie reactions I saw too! Iâve commented before about how smart the writing in the series is but this season is special, Danny Devito was brought on to please the network and avoid the seriesâ cancellation, but he had a tight schedule and filmed all his scenes in 10 days. This means they had the whole season written before filming and itâs so funny that they brought Frank in as Dennis and Deeâs dad knowing that this would be the finale. And just imagine the filming, editing, and continuity difficulties of filming the remaining scenes Devito wasnât in to make this season! This show is truly a labor of love and Iâm loving your reactions to it.

Yeah I think they were mentioned as being twins before this. Bruce Mathis though....well the actor who plays him is far worse than the gang.
One of my favorite episodes in the entire series.
You should definitely watch the bloopers at the conclusion of each season. Theyâre really funny!

In real life, Rob McElhenney (Mac) and Kaitlin Olson (Dee) are arrived. Same with Charlie Day (Charlie) and Mary Elizabeth Ellis (the Waitress). Both couple have kids.
Gives you an interesting perspective when you see their characters in this show.
Season 3 and beyond has stronger writing (IMO) because in season 2: "DeVito agreed to star in the show, but was only available for twenty days. To have Frank Reynolds in all ten episodes of the second season, all of DeVito's scenes were filmed before filming the season" - wikipedia

Itâs kind of interesting how Itâs Always Sunny shows nature vs nurture here. Dennis and Dee arenât biologically Frankâs kids, but they were raised as Frankâs kids so they grew up to be terrible and manipulative just like him. Charlie wasnât raised as Frankâs son, but he acts like him since theyâre likely related that way
But also: Dennis and Deeâs mother is terrible and manipulative, and Charlies mother is more unstable than she seems, as was his childhood. Iâd say the emphasis is definitely on nature, even though with Charlie and Frank there may very well be some inherited personality traits and interests. XD

Season 2 is probably the most story driven season, from now on get ready to see some utter lunacy đ it hasn't even begun to peak yet... When you get the reference, which is soon enough, you'll know...
Based on everything Iâve seen and read, genetics play a part in behavior, but SO MUCH of our personalities are due to upbringing. We really donât know how genetics interact with environment; it can be highly variable. Thereâs no reason to think Bruce Mathis isnât their bio dad, unless youâre THAT invested in generic predeterminism.
