A very popular song in Europe around Christmas time. Nightwish did a heavy version of it with their first singer, Tarja.I love Jarkkos deep tenor voice and was surprised how high he started this song. I found the movie "The Snowman" on CZcams. it is only about 25 minutes long. The movie has no dialog. Maybe that is why it is so popular in Europe. No translations needed. There is one song in the middle of the movie (Walking in the Air) sung by a soprano from a boys choir. I guess that is why Jarkko starts so high. The movie also made the lyrics make sense to me(mighty monster). Many of the good singers do these projects in old cathedrals and churches because the acoustics are perfect for acoustic instruments and voices. Another one to listen to is Norwegian singer Aurora doing this same song in Nidarosdomen. Jarkko also sings periodically with a project group called the 4 Kings along with Marco from Nightwish. He sings and plays bass in a Finnish metal band that I cannot pronounce. Enjoyed the reaction. Check out more Jarkko.
@@JayTor2112 I have to agree. The thing is tho, that Jarkko has his own, quite prominent solo career, and I don't know if he would be prepared to make Nightwish his main focus. He might not share well with Floor on a long-term basis, so their choice of replacement has to be well considered. I think they are giving time for Jukka to settle in and be accepted fully by the fans before doing further work with him such as vocals. Tuomas would not want a repeat of 2007. So it's all in the approach.

Jarkko is self-taught :) It's raining and blowing a lot here in NZ. Today you would have thought it was mid-Winter, not mid-Summer! I don't mind too much as I'm a Winter person, and it gets really hot here in Summer partly because of the Ozone hole over us. Some years ago, I created a UN Family from people I met and got on extremely well with, through an online strategy game. Two from Finland, one from Iceland, one from the Faroe Islands, and one from the Philippines. The Finns are both in Espoo, Finland. We have been family for over 15yrs now, and Eyji and his wife (from Iceland) came to see me here in New Zealand while on their Southern holiday tour. It was such a thrill to meet him, and his wife, who of course is now also in the Family :) They are all very dear to me, and I'm looking forward to going over to meet them all in the near future :)

Jarkko is the King! He is the male Floor! He can sing anything and everything. Heavy Jarkko - Church concert Jarkko, Opera Tenor Tour Jarkko....just name it, he will nail it!!
Thanks for doing this :) He has no vocal training what's so ever. He had a heavyband called Teräsbetoni so he was known as a heavy singer. He sings everything from heavy to opera. You could check out Teräsbetoni or Northern Kings My Way or classical pieces like Adagio or Nessun Dorma.
I think it is by Howard Blake originally but Nightwish did absolutely awesome style version in 2000 "From Wishes to Eternity" DVD and show. It is one of the most liked tunes for Tuomas.

Jukka is great, but I would have liked this better. Having Floor and Troy share Marko's vocal parts isn't working for me.
