As you passed the Bali Dynasty Resort (and Gracies Irish Bar) it may have been nice to mention it did not close its doors at all during the pandemic, remaining open to the public and assisting the employees with employment. Just returned after visiting from June 2nd to 14th and amazing in that time how busy Bali got in less than 2 weeks.

I was from the 3rd to the 16th, just got back and stayed near Kuta art market at Sol Kuta the old Kuta beach club. Amazing how in 2 weeks it became busy as you say.. we properly walked passed one another.

Bluefin restaurant was closed when I tried to go there for dinner.

We are also staying in Kuta, Sebali, Canggu,and Sanur. Visitors should be aware: just because it is slowly opening up again, it is not opening up to what it was before. Most establishments lost their staff. There are new generations of untrained staff, some unfamiliar with tourists, taking their jobs. Many restaurants have re-opened their doors and restocked their kitchens, only to have the food sitting around, dreaming to be the restaurant to get the customers. Countless tourists are complaining that the standard of food, the consistency of well known restaurants, has slumped, and it is going to be a long time for that to stabilize. There is much competition as vendors compete for customers, and the crime rate is high.
Be patient, get real, for it will be a long time for Bali to return to what it was, if ever.
That is so sad to hear, it’s a similar story here in Australia, Many great places gone 🥲 some are returning but cannot get staff

I’m sure that Kuta -and Bali altogether- would be much busier by now if the plane tickets weren’t so damn expensive. The prices have gone through the roof since the last time I visited Bali. Easily 3-4 times more expensive than before pandemic. It sucks big time 😒
Hopefully the tickets will be lower price soon..not sure what happen maybe because of the war.😔
