Hey Joe, good to hear the owner wants to learn how to repair it. You are a good teacher. She will learn a lot just from the experience. Family had a seven. We used it for a hunting buggy.Great machine off road
Morning Joe... we got about an inch and a half of snow and a lot of freezing rain here. Nothing I'm going to do anything with, I call this snow "roller snow", I just drive over it and pack it down. Couldn't plow or snow blow if I wanted to, the ground isn't frozen yet. I bought an '85 CJ7 brand new with a hard top and got rid of it in less than a year. Hated the damn thing, couldn't drink a cup of coffee in it without wearing it. The rear suspension was out of wack from the start and they could never get it straight and the wind shield leaked on your feet every time it rained. Real gem!
@@josaljo1 Where I built my home I had to drive 35 miles to work and by the time I got there I felt like I was on tumble mode in a washing machine or dryer, not to mention the coffee stains on my shirt. Guess I'm just too soft and want more comfort.
Must be a welcome change from the other stuff you do regularly. Am anxious for you to get the new part so I can see how you put it in and what welding you have to do. Thanks for showing all this!
not sure if you guys cares but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother for the last weeks xD
Best thing about jeeps is they are very repairable. About the only way to total one is to blow the engine and break all the axles at the same time. 90 percent of a jeep is bolt off bolt on. I'm talking the jeeps fashioned off of the Willie's. Great vehicles
I had an old CJ7 it was the best plow vehicle I have ever had. The only problem I had with it was when I was driving down the road in 4wd and let of the gas it would make a hard right towards the ditch. That is why I got rid of it. would like to get another one soon.
Hi Josalji, what do you mean about it setting the undercoating on fire at 8:40? Did you mean you were going to spray the top side of some of that metal there before you went to weld?

@Kieran Cain yea, I've been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :D
@Kieran Cain Yup, I have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself :)
I had a CJ2 that was good offroad, but on snow it had to be in 4X4 to keep it from swapping ends. Very light in the rear. Have a good one.
That is what this jeep drives like.

Even then then unbolt and replace 😂 u would have to wreck the Jeep they are very easy to restore and work on. They don’t make ‘em like they used to

About 3 or so years ago, I put a new cam in this jeep. I was test driving it on light snow, it was horrible trying to go straight.
@@josaljo1 Mine was great at off roading LOL no need to go straight

Yes, but I had some paint that could resist heat that was for undercoating.
All you do is lift the door up and it comes off hinge and all
just talking..
