Do you play battlefront 2 or do you just use it for the video?
The AT AT is really strong, but the AT TE is just really cool and also very useful
At-te is better as it is well designed and if i was to look at both walkers the at-te would be cooler and scariest thus doing the at-at's job better anyway
AT TE. Hands down. Much better design, weapons, durability, etc.
I mean considering we saw an at-te take on three at-ats in rebels and come out on top, I'm gonna have to throw in with the at-te

There is only one thing that can surpass the AT-TE, it is the gonk droid. The gonk droid can dominate the battle field alone.
So strong that it can even power a dozen first order Star destroyers
@@ilikepigeons6101 I thought it overpowered a dozen FO Star Destroyers? My mistake. It mustn't be as powerful as the legends claim.
The Gonk Droid, the most powerful being to ever exist in the galaxy
It's not a story atsromech droids would tell you...
The *gonk* is the star wars equivalent of the *brrrt*
They can be converted into a party bus. I rented one for last year's Burning Man Festival.
I distinctly remember the AT-TE being almost indestructible back in the 2005 Battlefront 2. Ahhh those where the years
Obviously the Ewok glider is far more powerful than the AT-TE
*Ewok Glider hits the AT-TE with rocks*
Clone Pilot: HAH! Whatâs with those Moron Ewok Gliders thinking they are trying to do?!
The Ewok: YUB YUB! ( I got it! I got it!)
They need to nerf that thing in the next update
Obviously Ewoks use dark side infused tech, sprinkled with stormtrooper tears for effect.
This heresy will be dealt with by death
I remember hearing something, (which is probably a part of the _Legends_ canon now) about _why_ the Empire retired these over the AT-AT. It was because the AT-TE didn't have an intimidating enough presence. It's actually much better for numerous reasons, but the Fear Factor of seeing the hulking presence of the AT-AT would (probably) be a bit scarier than seeing the (in comparison) quite tiny AT-TE. But when it came to performance, the AT-TE is truly superior.
If they had used the AT-TE on Hoth, the Snowspeeders possibly wouldn't be able to do _anything_ to them. Due to their stabilizing legs being 4 times as small, they would have to be nearly scraping the ground just to wrap around their legs. Even then, they'd likely not be able to even do that because of all the hills providing uneven terrain that the Snowspeeders would've crashed into.
Plus, the 6 smaller defense cannons mounted on the front & back of the AT-TE would've been able to much more easily shoot the Snowspeeders down, as they'd have to be level with their Line-of-Fire for them to wrap around the AT-TE's legs.
âI think the AT-TE was quite simply a venerable machine. Yes, it singlehandedly won quite a lot of battles.â ARF/CT-8711-12 âChengâ, Captain and Scout of the 442nd Siege Battalion
But... seriously, there's a "but" in all this good stuff, correct?
For a second I thought the reason why they retired the AT-TE was that it was a proven and effective design that simply didn't comply with the Tarkin Doctrine...
Anyway it was a fun video and I wish you the best of luck there Geetsly
This is the reason, aftheral the AT-TE is way more versitle than an AT-AT and the juggernauth is way way scarier.
No, No that is the US Congress that discontinues the effective and proven.
Yea they did that with the LAAT as well. A proven and highly effective Gunship/troop transport replaced with the shitty Lambda Class Shuttle
@@Gothic7876 and the venator with the imperial class star destroyers
When I first saw the AT-TE in Attack of the Clones, I didn't like it. The AT-AT was my favourite vehicle at that point and I felt the AT-TE was a bit of a cheap 'knock-off'. But over time, I've come to really like the AT-TE to the point that it's now my favourite vehicle in the Star Wars universe.
I actually watched the clone wars before the prequels, I thought the at te looked better than the at at which I always thought looked dumb
Since it was the prequels, i understood it as the early design/precursor to atat since other vehicles are hover types. But later with the tv series, its uses have proven to surpass that of at-at.

Did anyone realize the walkers mass drive cannon? It looks like its firing modern warfare tank rounds, instead of lasers.
Emirhan Yilmaz thatâs because it does fire rounds
@@hvcbandit5583 well i thought ALMOST everything fired bolts of energy instead of rounds/bullets/shells
Honestly, the Empire should've just kept updating the technology centered around the AT-TE configuration. They even could've made it bigger, kept the AT-TE's weapons systems, and replaced the cockpit with an AT-AT style head thus adding 4 more laser cannons to it's already impressive armament.
There were updates to the AT-TE implemented in the later years of The Clone Wars, including taller legs.
But if the Rebels used mines, the Imps would have lost a lot of those walkers...
@@brianwong7285 Not necessarily. Angular armor could be installed on the underside of a modified AT-TE along with repulsor field generators that could mitigate the blast.
When it comes to damaging the legs, the AT-TE had far more redundancy. Besides, area denial tactics are only marginally beneficial to an organization with a mobility based hit-and-run skirmishing tactical model like The Alliance To Restore The Republic (rebels).
The high level of customization potential alone makes the AT-TE a wise investment as it provides an invaluable level of tactical flexibility.
but the Tarkin Doctrine!
The question is which is best against insurgents....and AT-AT's just might be
The AT-TE will always be my favorite Star Wars vehicle and it's sad that the empire retired it.
Besides the Tarkin Doctrine the republic army fought better as a military unit than the
Imperials
Bobbie Watson Especially considering that one clone was worth a squad of storms.
The ATTE is equal to only the Y wing and LAAT
no others are so versatile in different roles.
The Arc-170
He got you there
Iâve always thought that this was superior to the AT-AT walker. Then rebels came along and even though it was a bad show, it showed that a rusted out ATTE was superior
alpha_wind tarkin was too much over style over substance, the AT-AT was even acknowledged to be inferior even in universe, just like the tie-fighters, the empire relied too much on fear despite it shows in rogue one and solo.
But that's because the Ghost team helped them and they had plot armour
@@somemustachioboi5898 or as the video states the at-at was designed for a different war. The at-te is superior but wasn't designed for all out war. The at-at was designed for essentially terrorist warfare. The hit and run if you will. The at-at was faster and used as a deterrent. As shown it wasn't covered in weapons because the rebels we're always running not trying to engage in all out warfare. Also due to its structure mines(which was more popular during the civil war than the clone wars) we're not as useful since the base of the legs were incredibly armoured the main structure was high off the ground and it had a good shield that required it to be overloaded to have small arms fire be effective. The flaws obviously is that cables can destabilize it and it's lack of flexibility in combat.
@@cuttlefish6839 No I am just saying the At Te won the At At due to the Ghost team helping them and plot armour
@@somemustachioboi5898 I really hate the term plot Amour. When i look at the episode.

GOD I LOVE THAT INTRO SOUND!!!!!!!!
Take that mass driver cannon, put some armor around it, slap it on a miniaturized UT-AT hull, or a mini AT AP hull (or just give it some tracks) and you have a better vehicle at less than half the cost of Resources, credits and clones than an AT-TE.
Hell, you can even take some design influences from WW2 and keep the hull mounted guns or sponsons and make it sci-fi while evoking that era.
The rebellion would have lost the war without MC80s and B-wings
One flaw i really hate is the gunner up top and the driver seat. But it's op against Droideka lel
The HF droid mightâve been a good contender for the AT-TE, considering it took one rocket to take one out in AOTC. They couldâve maximized on mobility and range using hit and run attacks in large open battle spaces. They shouldnât be used as a front line tank. If the AT-TE cannot be bested in a head to head engagement, you need to try a different tactic. The CIS never seemed to use air support on the walkers, that clearly lack decent anti air weapons, the CIS just had bad tactics overall.
I just realised this was uploaded a few minutes ago lol
Can someone give me a Link to the Thumbnail? I have been looking for this for quite a while now and couldnt find one in good quality

Just look up Star Wars AT-TE art and itâll be one of the first pictures that loads up
Hello there
I think the AT-TE is a good mix of maneuverability and power!
Agreed
Imagine an AT TE with the tech the ATAT had
Funny thing is, the MASS Driver cannon had a pretty fast RoF from one of The Clone War episodes. It sounded low power but it had the rate of fire of a chain gun.
Actually, the reason the AT-TE was retired was because it wasnât scary enough. The Tarkin doctrine said to intimidate everybody to control them with fear and scare any rebellious thoughts out of them. The AT-AT stood taller, which also helped make mines relatively useless, so it looked bigger and badder and more ominous/overpowering. Unfortunately for the empire though, it was slow, cumbersome, couldnât handle very uneven terrain well, and had long skinny legs (making its knees an obvious target).
Actually the AT-AT traveled at about 100 kmph
If I ever have a lot of money to blow I'm gonna hire a bunch of engineers to make this thing real.
It's crazy to think how strong AT-AT is, it's amor has the powful cannon of the AT-TE completely outclassed
Why didn't the republic put a shield Generator in the rear compartment? It should have a fighting chance against an ATAT
We need that Fighter Tank (Turbo Tank) in Star Wars Battlefront 2, and we need active Juggernauts as well, rather than having them always stationary.
AT-TE is basicly the m4 sherman of the clone wars
All of the Imperial war machine is geared towards holding a realm rather than actually defending or rebuilding one. All the troops, vehicles, and vessels are actually built to lesser standards. Training followed the same path, as evidenced by the (in some circles arguable) lack of marksmanship exhibited by Stormtroopers. Palpatine told the suppliers of military goods that they didn't need to follow the same strict standards and procedures that the GAR was held to because there simply wasn't a need for the time, energy, and money required to fulfill these demands. He began a doctrine of quantity over quality, and it proved to be his downfall.
Kinda similar to the clones breed on Centax 2. They didn't receive the same hard training as the ones from Kamino.
5:56 aint that a uncomfortable sight
The clone pilot at 5:58 then proceeded to look up Ashoka's skirt the the entire time she was there.
Well hmmmm let's see shall we...it's the republics only heavy tank......ONLY.....just think for a second
I have love-hate relationship with AT-TE. I love concept and overall design. I hate exposed pilot and main gunner positions.
Every hit from the front means mobility kill (pilot in front) and pretty much everything can take out your main weapon (exposed main gunner) be it grenade, cluster bomb or just some random shot.
Also @Geetsly's stop saying that AT-TE would have problem with mines. IT WOULDN'T!.
AT-TE has more than 2 meters of ground clearance and six separate legs. Only something with more legs (or anti-gravity) would be more mine-resistant.
AT-TE and the Gunner group ship (or whatever it's called) are both great vehicles
Fascinating video!! You thought of everything, super interesting
The AT-TE is my favourite Star Wars ground vehicle.
In rebels: One old, beat up, under crude, modified to be a mobile home at-te vs 3 at-atâs, manages to survive and even take one out. At-te is way better.
Fight me about that.
The AT-TE is just like the T-34, itâs so good that it just DOESNT. GET. OUTDATED.
nostalgia every time the intro rolls
Slaps roof of an AT-TE:
This Bayboy can fit so many fucking Clones in it
I really wish that we could see a one on one confrontation between the Rebel alliance and the Empire towards the end of the galactic civil war, something like the trench warfare style battle in the Star Wars show called Solo where Han Solo is fighting in an almost Hacksaw ridge or Saving Private Ryan type of warfare.
There are times in Empire at War mods I'd rush with AT-XTs, but more often than not, I prefer to use the light and medium vehicles to shatter the opponent offensive until I can send in at least a couple ATTE to stride past the shield, finish off turbolaser towers, and demolish the vehicle factories, then the infantry and light vehicles cover the final reinforcement zone while I crush the rest of the base.
âWell armoredâ except in Star Wars the clone wars where their plot armor was extremely weak
Plot armor is very inconsistent, but when it works, it ducking works, as seen with han solo and the gang in the original trilogy
AT-TE is my favorite vehicle in Star Wars (Y-wing and AT-AT tie for second). The thing is beautiful to behold and is an absolute animal on the battlefield. Would have loved to see more variations of it, but at the same time I'm glad the iconic OG design stuck through the whole Clone Wars unaltered.
I fuckin love your videos dude,I love falling to sleep learning about starwars
Is that thumbnail a slug-thrower that looks like an energy weapon? I didn't think the Clones were that nostalgic.
Your Intro just gave me so much nostalgia. I am gonna go play again now just cause of that đ
Thanks for the video on my birthday! Greetings from Germany.
I absolutely love the thumbnail for this video!
So the AT-TE is based on the real life counterpart, the M4 Sherman, which was being widely used through out WW2, having being the staple of the US Tank, with many varieties and only eventually being taken out of service after Cold-War and such
It was always fun to drive in the old battle front 2
Why the Clone Wars would have FAILED without the Clones
The at te on rebels shoots a blaze cannon. I can 0rove this because it doesn't explode
Let's not forget that the At-TE Rex, Wolfe and Gregor used managed to destroy 3 AT-ATs while itself only got damaged. It could still be used even if it became as damaged as it got. The same can't be said about those AT-At walkers which was destroyed like they were nothing. The At-Ats couldn't fire their guns underneath the AT-TE Rex and the gang used during Rebels, but, the AT-TE could fire straight at the neck and at other weakspots the AT-AT has and thus, i believe that the Rebel Alliance used some AT-TEs
I'd love a PlanetSide like game for star wars
YESSS
Gotta love that intro
"One of the greatest strengths of the AT-TE was it's heavy armour" unless you're in the fucking glass cockpit at the front of the damn thing.
I disagree with the title, i think u should change it to: The republic would have failed without the AT-TE
Since a war can't fail.
Actually as the war was a plan set by Palpatine and in order to be successful needed a clone victory so in thus it could fail
@asaeampan That was rather hostile don't you agree?
@asaeampan honestly was it necessary to be a dick?
The AT-TE Is so cool I even have the Big toy version
That intro is fire
The Tarkin Doctrine was utterly wrongheaded.
I always preferred the giant Hercules beetle over giant metal camels.
The at te is like the m4 Sherman of ww2 it was the work horse and was used for everything
Good video bro!â€ïž
AT-AT big walker go burr. AT-AE small waker go burr.
Can't choose to be honest it's like picking your favorite kid.
there is one massive fail if it comes to the at-te, and that is that even though everybody seems to love them, I still havent found a scale model to build of the damn thing.
So versatile you can use it at as an improvised camper walker
Hello there
General Kenobi
Hello, hope your landings are always happy.
Who remember playing on a relaxing Saturday morning Lego Star wars the Clone wars and being in those open levels destroying everything possible with the AT-TE. Brings back memories. :D
I'd say the AT-XT walker was far more effective. Faster, shielded, an extra activatable shield to absorb extra fire temporarily, dual HIGH to close range mortar cannons, and its blaster fire outranges the AAT's range
Not to mention a much smaller target.
@@Gamerguy826 agreed.
I really like the AXT. It seemed like something they could have explored further by ROTS. Something like the heavy ATAP with a plasma shield would have been fun to watch.
So the AT-TE was the republic's M4 Sherman, useful in just about any role, with only limited downsides...Cool I likes
I want more cool designs like that in the new films!!
Mannnn that intro brings me BACK
Nothing can surpass this vehicle ever!
9:59 âPateronâ
if it wasn't cannon before the atte became a thing that the atat was used by the empire and later was explained that the atte was essentially retired it could have had a redesign and continued to serve as specialized armor with great effect they could have mounted all kinds of things to support troops or larger armored units such as the battle on hoth they could have mounted AA weaponry to combat attacks to the legs and would have suppressed the rebels more resulting in fewer losses as the atat's didnt fire often enough to force them to peek out allowing them to put up a decent fight although that may have pushed them into the tunnels sooner slowing the empire but the storm troopers skills may have been able to be put to use in the tunnels instead of firing on a position they couldn't hit effectively.
So the at-te was for the republic, what the t-34 was to the Soviet Union
Like the Panther (or Panzer IV) to the Germans...
Brian Wong or the M4 Sherman or M3 Lee for America
Use the legs to step on those clankers
I remember playing the LEGO 3D ep 3 game on Xbox and seeing the AT AP and went confused as to why the behind of the AT TE was missing
only 3 things i really didnt like about the at-te is that it was slow and both the driver and the gunner were both exposed which is the last thing you want in any armored vehicle
yup, same for ATAT, the empire is nothing without ATATs and a big ass star destroyer flying around
6:55 you called it at-at
which beg's the question, why wouldn't the empire just use an upgraded AT-TE, make it look different enough to be called something else, but similar enough to have all its advantages and none of it's disadvantages
It would have interfered with the Tarkin Doctrine
KDY made more credits on the newer walkers. At-DP, AT-AT, ect. TE also required multiple trained operators to crew it, while larger vehicles operated with less. Even the repurposed Juggernauts were stripped down to minimal versions not unlike what happened to Y-Wings.
