1982 Old Spice Presents: The 7th Inning Stretch: Satchel Paige

Originally aired Saturday, May 29, 1982, Old Spice was the corporate sponsor of the 7th inning stretch segment. Typically, legends and hall of famers were spotlighted, in this particular case, Hall of Famer Satchel Paige is featured.
Later in the decade, Gatorade took over the sponsorship of this segment, but "The 7th Inning Stretch" remained a constant for Game of Week broadcasts.
Included here is the complete Old Spice commercial followed by a quick NBC Sports Update with Byron Day. Larry Bowa singles in a run for the Cubs in their game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Holy Cow! Did you see that part of this video where Satch looked about 60 years old and still threw a hard side arm pitch?! DAMN what this guy could have done to those MLB players in his prime. Then again, he was pitching against many of the greatest in his prime. Oh my, if only we had a time machine
