Eric isn't the worst. In the first couple of seasons he's basically the most realistic portrayal of a teenage boy I've ever seen.
Yeah then he becomes a completely incompetent drool machine
@@NoThankUBeQuiet Well you're not entirely wrong he does in fact become a politician.

This podcast is a literal treasure for a 90s kid. Thank you times a million.
In my opinion, Lily Nicksay was GENIUS. The way she delivers her lines is so eloquent for her age.
Eric ended up becoming everyoneâs favorite. He was hilarious. Love this show and love them all â„ïž
I actually disagree. Eric was funny, but Shawn Hunter was my favorite character
@Nobody Special515 Actually, it kind of was Will's fault too. He a big part of changing the direction of the character and improved quite a bit of it.
@Nobody Special515 I never said it made the last season better. That's a personal taste thing. All I said was that the actor was steering the character behind the scenes. after season 2, the studio/writers didn't want Eric to be the generic cool older brother that a ton of shows had. So they talked to Will and he suggested/improved in slap stick and the "dumb eric" moments.
By S7, Will's script said "Eric does Feeny call" and then Will would improve the feeny call for X amount of time. Will was a big part in Eric's development in S3-7, in a way almost none of the other cast members had been with their own characters.
In S6 when he was giving great advice, that was writers plotting out an episode. When Eric has a dumb moment/joke, it's a 75% of the time a Will improve. So yes, he gets just as much credit/blame as the writers do.
@Nobody Special515 It's a personal thing. S7 isn't rated noticably worse than 6. So its opinion, not fact. It's the same as Joey, even though lots of people claim to hate how dumb he got, the studio audience responded most to the dumb moments.
Yes, Eric was the typical cool older brother in S1-2. His only character trait was liking girls. Will has mentioned this several times and how the director came to him for input on what he could do when they wanted to add more to the character.
Will had input on Eric's development and each season he was more involved in who Eric turned into. Don't believe me, that's fine. It's been stated by Will several times on the Christy Carlson Podcast and interviews at cons. I'm repeating his own words , so yes. Will is just as repsonsible as the writers for who Eric turned into.
@@kyleellis1825 Improvised. The word youâre looking for is improvised. Improved means to get better. Improv is the short hand for improvised. Not improve. That was why you got the reply you got. Youâre using the wrong word and it completely changes the meaning of your sentences.
I like how passionate Ryder gets when he talks!

Yaaaaas â€ïžâđ„
I like it to an extent, but he goes on for way too long. Every time he starts talking I know it's going to last for a very long time. Which is okay I guess, but it would be frustrating to also be on a podcast and have to sit quietly for so long because someone else thinks what they have to say is the most important.
@@musclecars60I rather he be true to himself rather than have this become another show that leaves much to be desired. Iâve come to realize how much of my time Iâve wasted by watching or listening to reunions where the cast is bound to silence on many hot topics.
Unless you lived it, TGIF was special. What you did for the viewers was special. You were our friends we got to hang out with every Friday and you grew with us.
Thank you for being apart of the most genuinely happiest time of my lifeâ€

Those lineups were đ„đ„đ„ all those great shows back to back
Yes! This ââ 100% agree with you đđ
Every few years I go back through and rewatch the whole show from season 1. It hits differently every time I go back and rewatch it depending on whatâs going on in my life.
on first glance you'd think it's a kids show but when you rewatch it as an adult you really realise how deep it went into real life topics and how much knowledge and advice you can gain from it. beautiful show one of the best of all time.
Same here, and this last time, I bawled for the last two episodes.
somehow its always relevant! i can always take something from the show no matter what point of my life
There is NO way Topanga looks the same as she does 30 years ago. Such AMAZING genes.
I always knew she would
30 years? So she looks 12 years old?
Very beautiful, yet I strangely hated how they fashioned her on gmw for some reason, it was do strikingly different from old school beautiful beauty n style i watched in bmw.
They all look great.
@@user-ux1vj9vx7s Thatâs not what the person meant and you must know that.
Iâve mentioned this on insta, but George Feeney is in my Top 5 list of people who influenced me to become a teacher. There are so many aspects of his teaching philosophy that I absentmindedly implement in a daily basis. â€
I wonder how often he's been to cons where people say something similar to him. I could see him influencing a lot people into going into teaching.

Will is so genuine. I can listen to him (and everyone else) for awhile.
Same
He is a voice actor so he has that quality
Will (aka Eric Matthews) because of your doubts on lack of experience in acting, you created a character that everyone knew in the 90s. A funny older brother!
As a 41 year old book nerd the only show Iâve been watching the past year is Boy Meets World. Glad I randomly came across this channel. Will was really good on this; heâs really found his niece.
I see what you did there đđ
i see what u did. very smart
đđ nicely done
Lol
Omgggg! Ryder has aged so well he was one of my childhood crush lol. Lovedddd Boy Meets World. Still huge fan of yâall at 29 years old.
Also , Will , you were EXACTLY who you needed to be for your character. There would have been no one else that would have been able give what you gave !!! 10 out of 10 đđŸ
I love all the cast. But Will Friedle is SO DAMNED FUNNY!
I work as a mental health counselor at a residential child care facility and when I get the kids up for school in the morning, I play an episode of BMW for them and they enjoy it alot. It's cool that all ages can enjoy it!
I love being able to actually watch these!!!! thank you!!
same!
Same!!! đ„°
Ditto!
I whole heartedly agree!
Yessss
Eric you were wonderful in episode 1 and all the episodes. You were JUST as cool rewatching today as 30 years ago.
Feeney is one of the top five reasons I decided to become a teacher
Thatâs awesome, and good for you, god knows how much we need good ones.
Rewatching the show as a teacher, this show has definitely given me food for thought and has taught me how to be a better teacher.
Topanga was every boy that grew up in the 90s first crush lol I promise none of my girlfriends back then never measured upđđđđŸ
What a time we live in man. Boy meets world gets a podcast. As a 90's kid I loved this show.
Smallville has one too called Talk Ville.
My kids LOVE Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World. They are 15 and 10. I LOVE that these shows from my childhood stand the test of time with messages that kids today fall in love with them too. â€ïž
It's so weird to see them older and yet their voices haven't changed a bit. Grew up on this show and had the hots for Rider Strong...who didn't? đ
"That's still a neighbor my friend" HAHA
Finally! I get that they decided (at first) to make it audio only. I respected the decision, but it was such a tease when they would talk about how guests look now or refering to visuals we were missing out on. It just makes sense, plus it's just really nice to see their faces!
It's nice not hearing the same, "we are going to Iheartland", Soviet Elvis, astrology, Nick Cage comic books, and "where were you in 92?" ads repeated every 10-15 minutes, lol.
Going through the show I always wanted a best friend like Shawn/Rider, a relationship like Cory/Ben Topanga/Danielle and a friend/brother like Eric/Will đ
Such a well written episode . The scenes with Mr. Feeny and the classroom were especially good. William Daniels' acting and that dialogue - wow.
Moving from Germany to America, this show was huge in my childhood.! Every time my siblings and I would go to my grandparents.. this show would just be on almost like it was fate..! Nostalgia at its finest. Man I miss my childhood.. and these types of shows.
Topanga got me through my childhood. I couldnât miss an episode.
would love know how danielle feels/felt about topangaâs character shift from hippie to overachieverđ§
4:00 - I feel I know what Will means here. I didn't see it at the time, cause I was only in 3rd grade, but when I rewatched it in my early 20s Eric felt like a generic older brother for Cory, the centerpiece of the show. It wasn't until later on that Eric became the Eric we know. Rider was definitely Sean from the beginning. He was the "cool kid" that defied authority. You knew what you were gonna get with Sean.
Yeah he didn't become his own character until season 2
I think Mr. Feeny getting stood up by his sister and not a date was a reflection of what Corey was going through with Eric. It also showed that there is more than one type of love that could potentially hurt you, both for Mr. Feeny with his sister (who we thought at first was a date) and with Eric and Corey/Eric with his date. Love hurts, but it is always worth the pain.
I kinda popped hard for the Counting Crows mention. August and everything after was great. 1993 was a great year. Rider Strong, the rest of the cast, and Adam Duritz, all part of what made the 90's great. Gotta say the 90s were the best years of my life. I'd give anything to relive 1993 to 2002 all over again.
I love the Counting Cars!
Likewise those are the exact years I would choose to go back to as well!!!! (93-02)!!!!!!!
The part where Rider interviews his son is so precious! âșïž
OH.. MY.. GOODNESS.................... PLEASE keep this going strong!! đ This is AMAZING!! đ„đ„
Fancy seeing you here! - Squid squad.
If this says anything about how much I love this podcast...
I am not a podcast person. Not only do I listen to ALL of these right when they are released and am completely up to date on Pod Meets World, I am going to watch them all a second time through these videos! wow!!!
Hard to believe this show premiered 30 years ago⊠makes me feel kind of old.
Not until September
Same lol
That sign off is EVERYTHING!! I just LOVE how y'all honor Will Daniels, a living legend!
I am never getting tired of hearing or watching the people that brought a lot of joy to my childhood
This is the greatest thing on CZcams. I love that the three of you came together to create this Podcast. I am 38 years old now, a little younger but around your ages, and everything you talk about brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. âBoy Meets Worldâ was television at itâs very best. All the actors were amazing and itâs so great to see that the three of you are still best friends. I cannot thank you enough for making this Podcast. You put so much love into it and I know that fans will appreciate watching this so many years later. Itâs like âBoy Meets Worldâ is still alive because for me it was always alive in my memories. Keep creating these Podcasts and keep being the great people that you three are.
If this is any indication of 2023, itâs gonna be a great year. Way too excited to see these on YT!!! đ
I was born in â99 so I know that there are a lot of yâall who donât think I have any right to be here and speak to the nostalgia felt by those of yâall who grew up in the 80s and 90s and watched this with knowledge and understanding. The thing I love about reruns and VHS players is that it gave me the opportunity to watch what my sister Alexys watched originally, in â05/â06 as a kid who loved sitcoms like Willâs son does now. Itâs shows like BMW and FPBA and others like it that showed me what friendship should look like and how relationships should be in general whether romantic or platonic or familial. It set a standard for me that I find myself living by. I used to use BMW to give relationship advice in middle school. I canât tell you all how much you all have impacted my life and the size of the presence it had in my life while dealing with life. Even now at 24 i find myself quoting the show. I turned the Feeny call into the Dad call whenever I would call through the house for my step/bonus dad.
Boy meets world was some of the very best of my childhood. There's only two shows I will repeatedly go through and finish throughout the years. One of them being Boy meets world. I'm so so so happy this showed up in my recommendation. Cant express how much joy this is giving me. â€ïžâ€ïž

The character of Eric⊠when he got his hair cut⊠I honestly did not understand he was the same character or actor. Lol. Admittedly I was a bit older and didnât watch the show regularly enough to follow it really closely but it was really such a good show.
I never realized how much this show impacted my life growing up. Being an 80s baby, 90s kid, I watched Wonder Years however, felt more connected to this story and their friendships/relationships. Thank you for sharing these podcasts!â€
I was 7 when this show started I used to watch this with my whole family, feels like I grew up with them

So glad I found this podcast. I must say though Danielle is a natural at hosting. I know thatâs not her position here. Due to her not being in the pilot she is default the host and she really takes control and guides the conversation. Great job. Great job everyone involved. Such a fascinating conversation
Nice breakdown how layered the BMW episodes were. A good lesson for writers 30 years later
This is such a nice new year's gift!
I had no idea this existed, and now that I do. it absolutely melts my heart. Sad to say I had no idea Girl Meets World existed. Something I really appreciated was how a kids/teens show really really delved into real world problems - something that I don't often see today anymore. I fell in love with these characters and they world they formed together. Watching clips of it again makes me realize how much deeper it was than I knew at the time.
Thank you so much for putting these on here! Forever grateful for you guys. â€đ„°
My childhood heroes coming together making a pod!!!!! Thank you đ.... can't wait for this to grow... LOVE the emotions when expressing the past stories...
Honestly, this podcast is helping me in ways I never would've imagined. To see and understand the struggles of the people you always looked up to and idolized and what they had to go through to leave that mark on the world. It's helping me get through my "what the hell am I doing with my life" phase and understand that rocky is normal.
Thank you thank you thank you so much for posting these. I listened to all of the episodes as y'all released them, and being able to see y'alls facial expressions when reliving the episode is priceless!!! I can't wait to see the rest!
I'm so excited!!! I grew up with Boy meets world and it taught me everything about the world. I am so happy you guys are doing this POD!
I am SO glad i found your channel! Itâs the weirdest thing, Iâve been thinking about rewatching one of my childhood favorites, and similar to the three of you, I havenât rewatched Boy Meets World since I watched them as a kid. I typically enjoy listening to the audio commentary of shows/movies I enjoy. And so what a sweet, sweet joy this podcast is. Iâve been rewatching them with you! And Iâm so looking forward to the rest!

Ive listened to evey pod with a huge smile and tears of nostalgic pride. Now i will watch them with more tears and more pride. You 3 are my childhood( Will for sooooo much more) and i beyond love and thank you all for every minute of it.
I grew up watching the show & it comes with so many good memories and I didn't get many of them growing up. However it became a double down when my son was introduced to BMW and loved it from episode 1nand he watched it through and wanted to watch it with me. So it can be timeless and generational. Ty to everyone involved to make the show what it became.
This show brings back lots of nostalgic memories for me ! I cant wait to see more of thesee! Thank youuâ€
So nostalgic. Thank you all for giving us a great show to remember from child to adult.
This is SO good. I love the obvious deep respect all three of them have for the source material. Boy Meets World was as profound a television experience as I have ever had.
I truly love the cast. And everyone seems to have a bit of their character in themselves. Its beautiful
This seriously warms my 90s kid heart. Thank you guys for doing this â€ïž

So I started listening to this podcast when they started the second season. I'm instantly hooked. Going to play catch up watching the first season episodes. What I love, which is a detriment to how many times I watched the reruns and when they initially aired, is that I don't need to rewatch the episode as they break it down. I can mentally visualize each episode.

Ahh this is so great thank you guys â€
I was 13 when the show first aired, and I never missed an episode all the way to the end. It was the first show of my life where the stars were the same age as me. Although a bit farfetched at times, the plots were so relatable to me, and to this day, it's one of my all-time favorite shows. I have re-watched the series several times in the last few years, and it just never gets old for me. I tear up at so many episodes, not just because of the content, but because of the innocence lost since the show was on; of times past and the things I lived through with Boy Meets World. And having watched it all through again as an adult, I can honestly and easily say that George Feeny is the greatest character ever written into a television show! The compassion, love, and dignity Feeny gives to all those around him will never be seen again on American TV.
This is awesome getting to see it.
