Unfortunately the poor, as always, have no real political power. They’re considered by many to be disposable who choose to be poor because they’re lazy or stupid. Same goes for the homeless. While we as a nation could choose to make their life’s better but they don’t fit well in a capitalist economic model. You can’t pull yourself up with your bootstraps if you don’t have access to them. They do fulfill a purpose by doing jobs that others don’t want to do but we don’t value them as being productive in our society. It’s not going to change without a change in our nations mindset and if anything our nation is moving towards one is more themselves than the overall society.

You get used to stuff. I lived in California, and we didn't even get out of bed for earthquakes we were so used to them.

@@alvieroach1368 - I don't know if someone ever gets 'use' to tornado's, but unlike earthquakes, with a tornado you have a better chance of at least a little warning that they are coming. Having lived in both California and Oklahoma, I've experienced both tornado's and earthquakes and I will take an earthquake over a tornado every time.

Regarding them canceling commencement, I felt that young man's sadness in my soul because I was also a 2020 graduate who didn't get to experience graduation and the fact that this is happening to him both at high school and the college level is so 💔
Same here! I "graduated" from a Cal State in Spring (May), 2020 and so I didn't get a graduation ceremony either because of COVID - 19! :(
People don't seem to realize that you can simply attend the next commencement if its that important to them, which is in the Winter.

Plug in hybrids are likely to hold their value better than a straight electric vehicle. As the car ages and the battery range decreases, you can still drive the car as a conventional gas-powered vehicle.

I know a number of people who have bought used electric cars and they have becoming money pit’s. It’s not just batteries. Sensors as well as body panels fail and they’re very expensive to fix if you don’t have a warranty. You can’t get replacement parts at your local auto parts store so there’s no way to repair them outside of the authorized manufacturer repair facility.
