    I have had mine for about two months and almost 2000 miles. Riding the desert southwest of the US. I think your review is spot on. Some simple tweaks will cure the issues you have with the bike including some ROX handle bar risers.I have found one additional weak point on the bike. The clutch. The bike is geared high and riding rough conditions especially deep sand were clutch feathering may be needed. You will fry the clutch. I recommend a Barnett clutch and a 15 or 14 tooth counter shaft sprocket. Great channel. Working my way through watching your videos. Back to editing I have a video to get posted tomorrow.

    Thanks for the information. I'm considering this for my next bike (currently on my first - Yamaha MT-03 '16)
    The idea is to get a daily commuter that can go off the tarmac or even just over curbs and rough surfaces in an urban environment.
    I think this bike will be perfect. Though I'm tempted to get the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750. Far less practical but perhaps more fun ;)

      I'd go with the Triumph. :) You can get enough fun from that in-line three

      Thanks for appreciation. Be careful. This road is closed during the cold moths. If you want to go on Transfăgărășan, you should do it after July. There's also another road - the Transalpina which is very nice.

    You are doing great reviews. Thanks.. IM deciding between the 800 XCX and the Honda Africa Twin and will buy one of them in a couple of days..

      volvomannen79 Which one did you go for? Im contemplating the same. I haven't test ridden the tiger yet though.

      Harrison Martin actually i choose a KTM 1090 Adventure R. After i tried both 800xcx, africa twin and also 1200 explorer xcx. Even though its a heavy beast i was going for the 1200 due to more power, i am going long Eurotrips with passenger.. But told the seller that i just have to try the ktm also even though i had no plans of buying it. After 50 meters on the KTM i felt, damn this is the bike i want so i bought it. :) All bikes are nice though and it up to personal preferences what you decide..

      Thabks for the input. I'm also lookong at an Africa Twin. So I'll test ride all hopefully soon.

    Great review and awesome video shots! I'm a little bit confused and can't make a decision. Which one to buy, a Tiger XCX or F800GS? It's so hard to choose...

      I've had the 2014 F800gs. It's an awesome bike.
      I traded it for a 2016 Tiger XCX a month ago and I'm really enjoying it too.
      I can say that the engine is just much more addictive. the sound, the sport feeling..
      The seats are more comfortable
      The suspension is more adjustable and feels better too
      The bmw is better at braking and cornering

    • @TheEselens
      @TheEselens Před 3 lety

      @@patrickkdev i had bought BMW F800GS Adventure and sold it after 6 months. Didn't like the engine vibration, and those cracking sounds from all over motorcycle. In my opinion there is better motorcycles than F800GS. Now im thinking about Honda NC750X with automatic transmision. Good like with your bike!

    • @patrickkdev
      @patrickkdev Před 3 lety

      @@TheEselens It really vibrates a lot and has a few chronic problems.
      Also the oil pump gear is made out of plastic and knowing that made me too paranoid.
      I'm really happy with my triumph now. Will keep it for like a year and maybe go to the 1200 category

      Good luck with the NC too!

    Great video, very nicely produced. I've had a Tiger XCx for about a year now and clocked up over 26,000Km's including a 7,700Km trip around the Baltic Sea in 12 days. I've found the bike to be a pretty perfect go anywhere bike which will travel the fast tarmac and the gravel roads (and worse) with the same ease and comfort. The electronics are very easy once you get used to them.
    I agree with azdesterdog regarding the bar risers if you're going to do a fair percentage of off road riding - but I haven't had any clutch trouble on any surfaces (although deserts are in short supply in the UK). I'd be interested to know what tyres you were running for that test.

    I would say that if you had the bike for month or two you could learn how to use the electronic controls. i would love to have one. really liked the scenery too. when are you going to review the explorer?

    • @DriveMagRiders
      @DriveMagRiders  Před 8 lety

      You're right. But it will still be annoying. In my opinion. :)) Anyway, it's a great bike. The best in its class, actually. We're looking for an Explorer and we hope we'll test it asap. But I don't know when. Thanks for watching us. Cristian
