Installing a Catalytic Converter and Exhaust on a 2007 VW Beetle with Techtonics Magnaflow System

- My 2007 Volkswagen Beetle / Bug had a stock exhaust system that was crumbling due to rust starting right before the catalytic converter. Many of the exhaust hangers had also fallen off. To fix the problem, I decided to replace the exhaust using a two-piece - a Walker Catalytic Converter and a Techtonics Tuning fabricated exhaust featuring a Magnaflow muffler.

any idea where i can get this setup in Canada?
Techtonics makes nice exhaust systems they aren't a pretty as some but who cares, they're functional are well built and last. I've had one on my Mk4 Jetta for close to 20 years (aluminized) and did replace the center pipe because of small leak (my fault probably) at fitting to the muffler. That's another plus for Techtonics you can buy replacement parts. I want to replace the exhaust on my Alltrack I want more audible sound (some sound) the stock exhaust is just too quiet IMO. I really don't want an "sport" DP either. SO I'm stuck in this dilemma, because I've read and been told if I want the sound I 'have to" replace DP. Then that requires a tune which I really don't want or need more power. What to do?
Great input and feedback. Thanks for sharing. I guess i didn't know you had to have a downpipe. It may be worth a try and see what the result it. I"m sure there are other that would want to know the answer too.
@@DadWagon ...I don't know if you need a aftermarket downpipe for your 2007 Beetle, I was talking about the Alltrack (concerning the downpipe for better sound) Don't you have a aftermarket downpipes on your Alltrack? I thought you do. And now it seems downpipes for our Mk 7 cars are getting scarce (and tunes too) as the laws have changed APR has dropped the downpipes (and tunes unless you're grandfathered in) other Mfg's too.IIf you know of anyone using the Techtonics cat back for the Alltrack let me know I'd like to hear it.
If I have a 2004 convertible beetle 1.8 turbo, would this replacement be the same , no welding needed ?
I believe techtonics has an exhaust system for your car, but it's not the same exact one as what I've used here
